There's a guy at 4chan who worked on the SFX company that did Green Lantern. Here's what he had to say about the movie:

"The story will be alright. Some minor things that hardcore fans might gripe about, but it's gonna be pretty good.

I can tell you the special effects will be quite the spectacle. The 3D is done pretty well and doesn't have a schlocky feel to it.

Sony Imageworks (the main VFX house behind the show) are currently pushing VERY heavily on pushing out the last few shots. A friend of mine is about to head over there in a couple of weeks to finish some of their FX shots.

The only "problem" I would see is fans accepting Reynolds as Hal Jordan, which I don't think would be much of an issue since GL is nowhere near a high profile character as Batman or Superman."

About the rumors of of an entire Green Lantern trilogy having already been mapped out, he had this to say:

"All I can say is that Warner didn't plunk just under $200 million dollars on this movie to pull off a one trick poney."

Man, I'm not getting the feel that he thinks it will be that great.

He doesn't appear to be really a fan of the comics, so, I don't expect it.

His enthusiasm is overwhelming. :awesome:

I'm glad to hear he thinks warner is committed to sequels.

LOL, same old BS.

I think Reynolds will surprise and embody Hal Jordan.

Truth be told, it's because no one really has anything to reference it to except the books and the animated versions. Reynolds is honestly the first one doing it, so how could it pale in comparison to anything?

I think Reynolds will play a character close to his usual 'type', but will surprise us when it comes to the more dramatic areas of the film. All in all, I'm expecting a solid performance. Unfortunately, I think his career is too well-established to truly 'embody' the character, but we'll see.

I can agree with this.

Ivan Reis...one of the best artists in the last decade. Awesome.

Is great seen the news about the movie coming back, but i miss the new pics on Wizard...better luck on Empire.

Might be old, not sure. This is the first time I've seen it though. I think it looks fantastic!

Haysbert as Kilowog is good. I wonder if Laroquette will surprise.

I always wanted Haysbert as John Stewart.
Laroquette was Tomar in First Flight. So I think that's a pretty good idea of what this Tomar will sound like.

Green Hornet's budget was 100 million and it made almost 220 million in the box office, so how is that a fizzle? That's actually pretty good for a relatively unknown superhero.

On another note, I really hope that there is a new GL trailer next week because I can't wait to see it :hal:.
