That bits funny as hell

i also loved the 'homage to romeo and juliet' that was actually an homage to the leonardo dicaprio version. i cracked up when they started singing that 'love me love me' song at the end.

oh, and when danny finally got to do his "shoot up in the air and scream" thing from point blank, i lolled.

kinda obvious it was gonna happen though.

hate jokes you can see coming :(

Like this whole film! Apart from the bits in the trailer, but they were ruined because of the marketing

i won't be one of those guys that says "you just don't get it" or whatever... but maybe it's just not your kind of humor? it wasn't realy the gags that were supposed to be funny (even though i thought most of them were), it's the witty banter and the satire of action films in general.

well Shaun of the dead was subtle and gave the audience some intelligence, however Hot Fuzz was very basic and had simple humour, when you see the joke coming from half an hour off, it's just not funny. I liked the editing in terms of mocking the whole Bruckheimer collective of series, but I feel it was a tragic script and poorly executed, and as a viewer, my integrity and intelligence were insulted.

:)

I love this movie, IMO its better than Shaun of the Dead. It's terribly funny, and the acting is spot on too. Those two detectives were just such prats, t'was hilarious.

:wow: I hope its on DVD in april!

i think you're being overly critical of a very well done piece of comedy... i won't presume to tell you what you do and don't like, but saying that your intelligence was insulted, then saying that shaun of the dead gave the audience some intelligence is kind of weird, being as that the sense of humor in both films is nearly identical.

and in all fairness, the only joke you could "see coming from a half an hour off" was the 'point break' spoof thing, and even then, it was hardly a half an hour off, you could see it coming when they started chasing his dad, though.

Totally agree :D

Only 12 more days until Hot Fuzz Fest.

I'll try and get lots of pictures to post here. With any luck, Nick Frost will sign the 8 x 10 that was given to me for free at Comic Con. Edgar Wright signed it, but Frost left right when I got at the front of the autograph line.

Huge news guys.

As of now it looks like I will be interviewing Edgar Wright, Nick Frost, and Simon Pegg this weekend.

Pictures from the interview for your viewing pleasure.

this movie was absolutely amazing and hilarious... maybe even better than Shaun. Until Friday, 300 was by far my favorite movie of the year, but Hot Fuzz just knocked it on its ass.

15/10

easily the best movie of the year so far

Spidey and Pirates are gunna have a tough time topping this, funniest movie I have seen since probably th 40 year old virgin

Hilarious, this movie was drop dead funny! the "shooting in the air while screaming" ongoing joke had the biggest pay off laughter and applause i've ever heard from a crowd at a comedy. Only matched by Borat in the end of that movie when he yelled "Not!" at Pamela Anderson.
Hopefully Hot Fuzz will start to catch on with good word of mouth and expand in the upcoming weeks. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are probably the best comedic duo to come out in a long time.

Seeing as it has hit number 6 in the box office, it WILL get a more wider release now in the US

some cake flushing from Edgar Nick and Simon (and Joe)

Loved, loved, loved this film. It was funny, had great action, great acting, and just had a great feeling to it. I had a blast with it. Dragged a bit in the middle, but who cares. Loved all the references. Especially when Danny shoots the gun in the air like in Point Break and the Chinatown reference. Man, this was a fun time at the movies. The audience I was with seemed to love it and pretty much everyone went nuts when he drop kicked the old woman and Danny doing Point Break. See this now if you haven't.

I may have to buy this version of the DVD. When is it coming out over there?

great film. laughed my ass off through out the whole film. i thought the editing was great at showing how he was unable to "turn it off". the chruch sence with timm messenger and his head was Hilarious.

Just thinking about it more, I just loved the references. The obvious references to Bad Boy II and Point Break were great. Chinatown's reference was awesome. "Forget it, Nick. It's Sanford." And the plant that Nick Angel brings along with him to Sanford was in reference to Leon The Professional. And 'By the power of Grayskull" was awesome to hear. There's a lot more, but I can't think of them right now. Just great stuff. Would see it again in a second.
