Official Hulk Poster!!!

Like the old teaser poster?

How can you compare this poster to the new one? You should be shot, lol! That poster is cropped right from a comic book and badly done at that. A fan could and has put out better work than that! Sheesh, I put out btter work than that. Put them side by side and compare both. Not even close.

We really need some kind of clarification about the whole Norton/Harrison fiasco. All we have now are assumptions. We need FACTS.
Why do you need clarification? Will it effect you going to view this film? Ever wonder how much money he would get for all his contirbutions on this? Taxes. If he doesnt use his real name, how can they link him during tax season? But back to the point. It doesnt concern us as to how, when and why. How does this effect you? The FACT is it doesn't. IMO

I'm digging this new poster! I'm glad we finally got one, and I'll soon be looking for my copy.

That new poster has a nice Bill Bixby vibe to it. The whole denim thing, I guess.

I love the concept of this poster, but I'm not too thrilled with the execution.

Funny thing is that Batman's posters are in the same boat. They look as though they are covers from a comic book. But on a positive note, are not these comic book movies? We ask as fans to make sure they remain as true to the comics and then many complain that it looks too "cartoony" or too "comic booky". If you compare TDK's first teaser to TIH's first, there is no comparison (venting). A voice over to actual footage. The poster is fine. It has a comic book feel to it, but that is what they (Marvel) wanted.

You can't compare, because first TDK teaser dropped extremely far from the release of the actual film. Almost a year, in fact. It was merely an announcement teaser, to let people know the film was coming abd to build the hype, which is exactly what it did. This is quite common for tentpole releases like TDK.

TIH teaser was released only a few months before the film's release date, which is why there was so much footage to be shown. We've had discussions about this before, and you know my opinion: TIH's marketing has been seriously lacking.

I have noticed that TIH has been fairly weak in the publicity department. However, except for the fans, how many people in the general public would've been hyped up with a bare bones teaser to this film (considering the reactions to Ang Lee's Hulk)?

I'm actually glad I was able to see as much as I did in the teaser. It just seems abnormally close to release.

We can blame Universal as always for the lack of marketing as I thought Marvel shoulda handled all this stuff. After visiting Marvel's site numerous times it still lacks current updates and conflicts with Universal in release time. I still think the poster is fine and is a true reflection of Marvel's taste. Not a bad thing.

I like the new poster, but being a comic geek I couldn't help but think of the Spidey comic cover when I first saw it.

The only thing I would have done differently was to have the Hulk facing forward.
One reason being it would resemble the original Hulk #1

The second being that to me it appears that Banner is walking away from the Hulk, where as it should be that Hulk is constantly with him, haunting/tormenting him...

I made a rough manip of how I would've like it--remember I said it's rough, I am just very visual so like to get images down on "paper" sorta speak.

But I can live with what they came up with.

I'm not feeling this at all. Kinda meh, for me.

Something just isn't clicking with it.

Agreed. This whole thing just seems very lackluster. And why am I getting that "big screen version of the TV show" feeling agian?

I really want to get excited about this film the way I was for Spidey and the way I am for IM. But this production has yet to show me that it's even in the same league as the other two. The whole thing just feels and looks so unspectacular. I don't feel like this is a summer tentpole blockbuster--it feels like this is a quick in and out of the theatre without much fanfare type movie that will be overwhelmed by the competition.

Marvel cannot afford missteps and I really hope this film isn't one. Damn.

Easy now, I was just supplying the image as a reference. I actually quite like this poster, and have been looking for a copy for some time now.

The poster takes you back to the comics and the TV show, Norton looking down with his rucksack a la Bill Bixby, nice homage.

I know and I put out the word to a buddy of mine to see if we can score that poster for you. My buddy Richard Smidt works in the Theater business and gets lots of new and old posters. I have the one you mention along with the official and the 9 ft banner hung in theaters. If I can get another, its yours.

The thing that is worrying is though is how will it effect sequels if Norton and Marvel are having murder over this movie. THATS how it effects us.

I like it, but I think I like the official poster a little more.

Did you ever know that you're my heeeeeeeeeeeeeeero?

I really like the poster. At least it is something tangible for the moviegoer to take a look at in the theater as they pass by.

It is the sheer volume of negativity (and let me clarify before I am flamed -- I am not spiting their opinions, it is their right to say what they wish) that I just don't get.

I truly believe that even the most PERFECT poster (whatever that would entail...) would draw criticism.

my first thought was "omg awesome" however after 2 mins i think while the concept of it is good it actuially looks cheap and tacky and hulks back looks horrible thumbs down from me...I have a bad feelign the whole movie is gonna come off as a bit tacky too

Can i ask how you know that for sure Sarg?

I do not know it for sure but I am not worrying about it.

Norton has used Edward Harrison before and other writers use alternate names such as the Coen Brothers as one poster mentioned.

ZOmG!!111!!

If you visit the official site in IE7, you see that at the top it says Incredible Hulk|Edward Norton, Liv Tyler & Tim Roth| no William Hurt! Does this mean he is mad with Marvel and they are not using his name in the movie?

No!

Yep, actors or directors using an alias for other work they have done on the same movie is nothing new. That this alias is Norton's first 2 names is even more reason not to be bothered at all.

Now if you see "Alan Smithee" that is worrying...that means the person involved (usually the director) so dislikes the product they have asked/demanded for their real name to be removed (I think they have to prove the studio mangled their efforts beyond any reasonable measure for this to be approved though...Given the stigma of the name it's not in any studios interests to allow this if they can help it)

Good work. I like this a bit better. It gives more of a feeling that Banner can't escape Hulk than their backs facing did.
