Someone needs to:
a. Download the HD trailer
b. brighten up your monitor
c. screen cap it
d. post it
You can't make anything out...
Because there simply is nothing to make out. I've gone through the trailer a few times.
Are you referring to the "thing" that jumps out at Will Smith?
No,i made a mistake, there are a load of dogs scurrying past the empty cars at 0:55,i wasn't sure what they were until i watched in freeze frame......wonder if they are infected like the ones in the script that attack Neville and his dog

Those aren't dogs... they're either moose, or deer (you can clearly see the antlers on some of them).

t:LOL at Tuikkal's comment:
The KV virus mutates out of control, changing the world's population into bloodthirsty creatures. Three years later, former military scientist Robert Neville (Smith) is working in Manhattan to develop a cure. Neville finds himself to be the only uninfected human on the island, if not the world so his mom got scared and said "you're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air".

Exactly, although I think there were only deer seen. Moose are a lot bigger and have very different antlers than deer.
What if the dogs grew antlers when they are infected ?

t:what are deer doing in Manhattan?
Is this based on The Omega Man?
