There's information. There are only three other main characters in this movie besides Neville. Ginny (his wife), Ethan, and Anna; all have been cast. So has the main vampire.

If the setting and other instances didn't tip you off, this isn't a direct translation of the book. If the characters are present, it's under a different name. It'll be more like The Omega Man than the book or the Last Man on Earth.

The teaser did nothing for all. All I saw was Resident Evil type thing going on with Will Smith as the main star and not showing the evil creatures.

I grew up on THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR. I can remember the huge hype that was MEN IN BLACK the year I started high school and really dug it when he battled some mechanical villains in I, ROBOT. However, I could not be more excited to see him battling mutant vampires in the upcoming I AM LEGEND.

The reason I mention this is because the picture you see above is the latest from the flick which finds Smith as the last man on Earth battling a population that's been mutated by a virus into vampire like creatures that are attempting to kill him.

I love this story, I love that they cast Smith as Neville, and I loved the trailer. I know that the film has skewed slightly from the original book but I still think that I AM LEGEND is going to rock pretty hard, and I can't wait to see it.

Actually, teaser-trailer wasn't supposed to be full trailer with all possible money shots and scenes with vampires, otherwise it would show too much and the hype would be gone.

What teaser uses is a simple thing called suspense feeling, when after telling audience who the protagonist is, it shows the last scene of him trying to get out of some unknown place. So as the night comes, vampires start the hunt.

The pic looks really good.

And I also think the fact that Neville stayed alone against new society, which now thinks of him as a freak and possible menace, is what makes both the book and the movie (lets hope so) looking so epic.

If this remake is different than the book still, why in the hell do they feel the need to remake it??!! The original, The Omega Man, is great. I can only understand doing a remake of a movie that was based on a book/story if the original movie strayed far from the book it was based on.
I never read the story, so I have no idea how close or far Omega Man was to it. If say Omega Man was accurate, then they didn't need to make this movie. If it wasn't accurate, well this one doesn't seem to be either, so what's the point??

Omega Man was one of the most inaccurate-to-the-source-material movies ever. Still fun though. It wasn't the original either though. The Last Man on Earth was the original, and superior adaptation. I guess they shouldn't have made the Omega Man either.

What decade did The Last Man on Earth come out? If it was like the original The Thing From Outer Space, please, that would be a horrible B movie. I guess that's a case of the opposite, where John Carpenter improved upon the original 10 fold and followed the short story alittle more.
