No. A much cooler story.

One would certainly hope, but I was referring to the dumbing down of the source just for the benefit of making a popcorn summer action movie. Of course its way too early to tell, but the casting of Smith hints at that.

Does anyone know how close to the book this will be? More Vincent Price or Charlton Heston version?

Found these pics (taken on Sept 3rd by Simonpride) of early second unit filming for I Am Legend thats taking place in NY.

I'm really looking forward to this. With Smith and Depp starring and Francis Lawrence behind the camera.

Street set for "I am Legend": fluffer
We emerged from the 4-5-6 stop at 28th street onto a shoot for an upcoming Will Smith action flick called I am Legend. Yer usual Omega Man post-apocalyptic deal, it seems, with yer man in a large Muscle Car going around doing his stuff.

Astonishing!

Well I guess Smiths character finds the dog like in the book. Dang when are they going to start reissuing the book I want to read it!

I just checked IMDB yeah he did I liked that movie. But he also did BS music videos.

If Smith cracks wise even once in the trailer, this movie instantly goes off of my "to see" list.

Mix of I, Robot and Constantine? Nah, don't think it will be so good movie.

Hahaha, the word "If" made this a funny post.

Why would it be a mix of the 2 ? Actors and directors are not tied to doing everything the same,i can't understand the conclusion jumping around here

Well, Constantine had very good vissual style, but I didn't like storytelling. The same goes to I, Robot.

So I can only imagine that guy from MIB vs. vampires (some Blade stuff?).

But I will be sureprised, if this movie turns out to be good.

Eh  Lawrence has made only 1 movie,he's still finding his way and i thought Constantine was excellent

As for Smith it's a different movie ,i mean you are not even waiting to see any footage,i mean right now we have a guy directing Iron Man that has absolutely no experience with that type of film and yet he's getting a chance

Yeah, but I doubt there will be something new for me this time.

Don't know what the connection does it have with I'm Legend, but Raimi also wasn't filmaker of huge movies in box office and how much did his Spidey movies make?

Jon Favreau knows Iron Man as a character and he knows how he can make very good summer blockbuster using usual superhero movies formula.

Anyway, I'll wait for 1st footage of I'm Legend and then I'll judge, but the same was with Eragon. I was waiting for it and then I saw only one big disappointment.

None of the movies you list as ones you're looking forward or have enjoyed this year have anything new in them either,it's the execution not the originality that matters

And how do you know Fav won't be another Story or Ratner, you can't pick and choose,he deserves no more faith than Lawrence until he shows he can do it

Well, I enjoyed movies, which were good. But I don't think we won't see anything new in movies like The Prestige, The Fountain or The Black Dahlia.

Yes, it can be so, because everything can happen. All what I am saying is that I have no interest in I'm Legend. But I can't say it will be so awful movie, because I haven't seen anything yet.

I am just saying that I don't like too overused ideas like war with vampires.

You voted for it on the poll though

It's no more overused than Superhero movies and we can't move for them

It's all gonna depend on how they tell the story

It's not the "vampires".
It's the "Being the last human in a deserted metropolis".
I love any "last man on earth" movie! Whooo
