They work now.. weird..

I hated that scene, where he started crying to the maniquin cause they wouldnt talk back to him.

Gave it a 4/10. Saw it in Imax. Best thing was the Batman Prologue. Shame, since this movie had so much potential. Ending sucked.

i liked it as well, i actually thought some of those scenes were the best, helped you understand just how lonely he is.....its pathetic, but that the point, hes the last man on earth

"And speaking of I Am Legend, Collider also reports that director Francis Lawrence has confirmed the existence of an alternate ending for the film, one which is due for inclusion on the "second DVD release." No details were given, although Smith did refer to the new ending as "less commercial," so it's probably safe to assume it hews a little closer to the ending of Richard Matheson's book."

What does he exactly mean by "second DVD release"?, an extended cut ?!!

"Speaking of upcoming releases, we've just gotten word that Warner will deliver the I Am Legend: Special Edition on 2-disc DVD and Blu-ray Disc on 3/18, with the HD-DVD version due to follow a few weeks later in early April (street date is TBA). Additional details on pricing and extras are expected to be announced shortly."

With an early DVD release, looks like we are gonna get an extended cut later this year...hmm

I don't believe it is

Just saw the movie; not too shabby. I thought the leader of 'the infected' would have a possible connection to Neville, or a more developed role, but whatever...

7/10.

I think im gonna rent "Omega man"

who has seen it.....thoughts, how does it compare to I am Legend

I thought "I am Legend" was great up until Will Smith [blackout]gets rescued by the other human chick.[/blackout]

After that point, everything fell apart. The story became lame, Will Smith tried to do some lame comedy (the Bob Marley stuff was so stupid), and the freakish, semi-intelligent infected became generic horror movie monsters, climbing walls and roaring at each other.

Not to mention the even lamer ending. Lame lame lame!

First half of the movie - 9/10
Last Half - 5/10

That's what I imagine from "less commercial", but in the rumored alternate ending
Neville survives :down

It won't be anything like the book's ending because the entire movie itself bears no resemblance to the book.

In the book, Neville has been killing vamps for years, while they sleep, simply to rid the world of them. Sometimes 40 a day. He's not a scientist, but eventually he does look for a cure.

What he doesn't know is there are two types of vamps, the dead and the living. The living can control their urges and are setting up a civilization of their own. Neville finds out about the different vamps after they send a girl, to spy on him. She ends up liking and respecting him. She leaves a note urging him to leave because the living vamps will come for him. He doesn't leave. They capture him and bring him back to their people to execute him. She gives him a pill that will kill him without pain. He became a legend to the living vamps, a boogie man. Someone who hunts them in their sleep.

The alternate ending for the film will be nothing like the book, because the whole book was nothing like the film.

If any of you guys have bought the latestCiefex issue in which LEGENDis fatued , they do talk about the alternate ending.
LIke everyon says , it ends with Neville surviving.
Neville gives the vampires their alpha female back and they leave Neville alone. Neville at that moment realises that the vampiresstill have some humanity in them left. In the isse they talk about how the lpha male and female share a "tender moment " before going away

Here´s the alternate ending if anyones interested.

Much better than the original but not as good as the book. :o

It comes much closer to capturing the meaning of the book there though. Neville isn't the savior in the alternate ending. He realizes that these monsters have lives too and he's been nothing but the bane of their existence.
