Just give me one of the biggest as the main villain. Phillip Seymor Hoffman would be an interesting choice also. He can really play creepy. Or maybe Denzel Washington.

I don't know why this is even a question. It's Sam Neill...

And just because the current crop of idiots at DC have turned Lord into something he was never intended to be ... a villain ... doesn't mean he has to be that in the movie. They can very easily make him into the rich benefactor/director of the League. I would think Neill could absolutely nail that. Lord was never unlikable and was always a very sharp negotiator. Sam could nail that, too.

Max Lord ... a villain ... Not in my world. ... (oh, when will we be free of Dan Didio!)

It was heartbreaking because I like the "I can't believe it's the Justice League" series with Booster Gold and Blue Beetle.
