Justice League of America has Been Delayed!

Well, it looks like am getting reeled back into this movie. I thought it was dead and now maybe just maybe showing some new life of late. Still, can someone help me get up to speed. I thought I read pages back that the actors all had been givin thier release? Did this happen? Are they back to square one for actors or are Hammer, Gale, and now Porter the go to heroes? And doesn't it worry anyone else Miller seems more worried about getting HAPPY FEET 2 off the ground (WHAT? WHY? GRRRR!) What was it Yoda used to say about the here and now? Come on Miller! Stay focused! :cmad:

^ The best way to describe the status of this film is how Miller described it: "precarious".

Well we dont really know officially if any or all the people will still be in the film. As of right now Gale and common are the only ones to officially come out and said yes they were going to be ww and GL in the film. Brody has been linked to flash role for months and was likely officially wally west. The rest no clue on aquaman, batman, or superman roles officially.

I'll just post it here:

The “Mortal” in the title will be in reference to an already dead Superman. Batman has been kicked out of the Justice League and Superman has died in an epic battle with Doomsday. All of this will make sense as Warner Brother’s moves forward with Justice League:Mortal and Superman, The Man of Steel. Like it or not Bryan Singer is on board(I believe he is the right director for Superman) and Warner’s has signed him for the next Superman movie and writers are hard at work pitching their version to Warners. Justice League:Mortal has been pushed out to a 2010 release and I believe it is because Superman, The Man of Steel will be released first in 2009. Tie this in with The Dark Knight being released this May and Warners has the making of three super hero block busters three years in a row with a sequel to Justice League:Mortal coming in 2011. That Justice League sequel will include Chritian Bale and Brandon Routh in their respective roles as Batman and Superman.

Nah.. that makes way too much sense.

My question, is Dan an alias for Uncle Bingo? :woot: Anyway, interesting theory. But he's saying that JL Mortal will come out in 2010 and the sequel to JL Mortal in 2011? Not buying it. If anything, Batman 3 would come out in 2011.

Edit: Not too mention that the poster believes the next Superman will come out in 2009! I can't see that happening.

I just don't see WB banking on the success of the first JLA movie and the fact that Bale and Routh would want to be in sequels to it years from now. Sounds too complicated and risky. Even more complicated and risky than "recasting" and "vague connections". Although, I guess they could always recast in sequels. I don't particularly want to see a JLA movie without Batman and Superman, though it could obviously work. I just don't see WB going that route.

Anyone bothered to tell Brandon Routh and Christian Bale they're doing a JL sequel? :woot: :funny:

The same people who told Welling he was doing the first movie I am sure have told Routh and Bale they will be doing the sequel.

Yea i dont think that is going to happen. In the past rumors have said this film and the batman and superman films will be separate universes once bale and routh were not in the film. But who knows what is going to happen we will have to wait and see if the film does indeed happen in the coming months.

Any one catch this part in that obbessed with film jla article:

Really surprisingly, he is north of 60 which completely goes against any of the other casting in the picture. I mean he’s nearly three times older than Anton Yelchin who was supposedly cast as Aqua Man.
The only role which was rumored for anton was one of the flash's but i doubt that was ever true since brody was long linked with the film and was in auzzie for awhile before the film was originally delayed. I Just laughed at that aquaman part.

Why would Bale and Routh be in the sequel as Batman and Superman but not in the 1st one?

Must be Dan Lin.

Well isn't the hole purpose this movie is being made in the 1st place, is so people could know there are other characters in DC other than Batman and Superman?

Bale and Routh will never be in any JL movie. People need to get over it and move on.

Haha, didn't see that. Funny.

Isn't JLA Dan Lin's baby? All of this is pretty much his brilliant idea, right?

Now people are going to believe what that poster is saying...

Yep. Dan Lin was championing it.

See this is what I miss! All the rumors :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: ! Bale and Routh now in the movie. So I wonder if that means Superman dies in MOS and that carries over to the JLA movie or does JLA just start with him dead? Would Routh play a dead Superman's body in JLA? Only to maybe then get recast for a sequel? :wow:

I can already see this a MILE away.

IF this is what they want to do...

....at the end of the JLA Movie we'll get the big reveal. Superman is alive, and Batman has been masterminding all the events in the movie unkown to the other leaguers. They both have been working together ... and at the end of the movie they will reveal the larger threat that they couldnt tell the rest of the leauge....this leads into JLA 2 with Batman and Superman in the forefront of that story

bank on it. Im calling it now. IF this JLA storyline stays in place...expect the big twist to be what I described.

I like how you're calling what's going to happen based on a completely unfounded rumor.

The catch is if you want to film in provinces like British Columbia, which could offer 16-25%, you have to be a Canadian owned company with ownership of more than 50% of the copyright. If the Aussies already own the copyright, I don't see how they could qualify for the offset in BC.

Well, if that's the case, then the pendulum swings Australia's way. WB probably has a Canadian affiliate like Village Roadshow, the Australian entity producing JLM in Oz, but the 50% copyright ownership.....I don't know if they could swing that. I'm sure there's a crack team of accountants working on it.

It's also my belief that JLM and HF2 are integrally tied together. WB wants JLM because of the potential for giant grosses. They also very much want a sequel to Happy Feet, as that first movie made them a ton of money too. I think that Miller and WB came to an arrangement early on where it was decided that he'd make both movies, one after the other, with technical crews quickly moving from JLM to HF2. A major part of HF2 could ride the coattails of JLM, with the potential for millions being saved on production of the second movie. Without the pre-assembled technical crew, HF2 may never become a reality.

If all this is true, then Miller will probably remain with the project even if it moves to Canada, and he'll make both movies for them there. Either that or they chuck the whole idea.
