Bc teens kept crossing states lines to drink. The drinking age varied from state to state prior to an Act enforced in the 80s, which would limit federal funding to any state which allowed for the sale and consumption of alcohol to anyone under 21. Thats what prompted states to change their minimum age lawsDrinking age used to be 18, but the federal government upped it to 21 during the 1980's. No idea why. I didn't hit the 18-21 age range until the turn of the century.
