OK, couple of quick questions about that preview on the last page:

1. How do their costumes react to their powers like that? Cannonball now randomly sprouts shoulder pad and goggles??

2. Why would cannonball even need pads, isn't he invulnerable during flight? (and how did cypher knock him out like that, for that matter?)

LMAO, I love how Kubert didnt even bother trying to draw Bianchi's costume for Storm. Generic white cloth will do!

Looking at that cover again, I think it's all lighting. Her hips are colored all wrong with the way light hits them. Otherwise, it'd probably be a decent pose.

That shot of Magik is pretty freaking. She has potential to be one of the most deadliest X-man. Girl can time travel, teleport to Limbo and is a powerful sorceress. If she's fighting their enemies, all she needs to do is teleport them to Limbo and let the demons deal with them. If something goes wrong in battle, all she has to do is go back into the past and prevent what ever error happened from occuring. And if things arent going her way, she can create a spell to shift things in her favor. Then theres that Soul Sword of her. That cover reinforces that if she ever turned into a villian, she could take down most of X-men single handlely if she wanted to.

I love that this team is an actual group of X-men and love that they are recognized and acknowledged as such. This title could have been called X-men: whataver adjective but its under the New Mutants logo which is perfectly fine

I've always thought that the New Mutants would be much more loyal to him than to Cyclops.

not only that... but everyone they have relationships with are messed up or from a messed up family. Jean grey is possessed (multiple times)...Emma frost was a villian... Lorna's father is genocidal and her brother/sister are incestual... Those summers boys need to find a nice church going girl that isnt evil or demonic or anything like that.

Alex is just as bad as the rest. He had that phase in the 90s when he look like he lost his mind, became a villian, tried to kill the woman he loved, Lorna and Cyclops, only to come back and say he was just playing. He also messed around with his brother's wife Maddie and dumped Lorna on their wedding day for the incredibly boring Annie who was his nurse that he fell in love with catatonic. There was also the time he was a brainwashed Genoshan mutant hunter and later possessed by Malice

how is she related to the summers? i know nathan raised her, but who are her real parents? is Hope actually jean? because when Nathan destroyed cerebra the pheonix reflected in her eyes.... i'm a little confused on that front. also, has Hope manifested any powers yet?
