The closer we get the the N3DS the more I turn into a hyped up six year old. At 31 years old.. I'm mildly embarrassed at my excitement.

Me too. 25 years old and I'm over the moon excited. Only thing dampening my excitement is the ambiguity still surrounding getting my NNID on my New 3DS after trading in my old one. Every customer service person I speak to at Nintendo tells me something different.

With game stops trade in deal I might just go ahead and pick up a N3DS. Will it be able to play SNES games?

$100 credit towards order of N3DS XL by trading in old 3DS XL

You only get the $100 if its towards the N3DS. $70 otherwise. It's a solid deal for a trade in IMO.

You'd probably have to ask your local store. The guys at Nintendo customer service said if you write down the serial number on your current 3DS and give it to them along with the serial number of the New 3DS they can do a transfer for you. That's the route I'm taking.

You get $100 if you trade in the XL to the N3DS, and $75 if you trade-in the original 3DS model.

And Gamestop should let you do that in store.

So you get $75 for the original model? I may do that, as mine is just sitting around. Then I'll transfer over my old XL to the new one, and then sell that. $75 is a great price for the old 3DS. I don't think you can sell them for that much.

That's Gamestop, right?

Yep, that's Gamestop's deal. I think maybe it might be a pre-order thing, though, so I'm not sure if it'll last past the system's actual release.

I just looked it up on their website, and it lasts till the 15th. I may go by today, and just trade it in and pay off the N3DS. I wasn't even planning on getting one, but that's a good deal for my old 3DS that I was about to just give away.

Flipnote Studio 3D Finally Available Via Club Nintendo. February 10, 2015 . 11:58am

After months and months of waiting, Flipnote Studio 3D is finally available in North America via Club Nintendo.

After months and months of waiting, Flipnote Studio 3D is finally available in North America via Club Nintendo. You can order the application now via its reward page on the Club Nintendo website in your region.

Flipnote Studio 3D lets you create animations on the 3DS and share them over social media sites by saving them to the SD card. Additionally, if you’ve used the Flipnote Hatena app on the Nintendo DSi system, you can log into your library from Flipnote Studio 3D and download your old animations into the newer app.

Nintendo were originally going to run Flipnote Studio 3D as a service that would require a small subscription fee to access worldwide servers over which one would be able to share their creations, but it seems this plan has been shelved for the app’s final release.

On the bright side, one can still export their animations from the SD card and share them over the Internet.

More information on Flipnote Studio 3D can be found on its official website.

I couldn't do the Gamestop deal, cause I didn't pre-order 2-3 months ago. All their pre-orders are filled, and they wouldn't let me put the $75 towards their second shipment.

That's kind of crappy. If want to brave selling it on Amazon, it looks like OG 3DSs still go for a little over a hundred (you'll end up with 90ish after they take their cut) if you still want to do it.

I had the same problem. Though, they said they would put the 75 towards it if I paid for full, and had it shipped. But I would be unable to transfer my games, because Nintendo refuses to do accounts.

75 dollars is a pretty good trade though.

I just put mine up on Amazon(I've never sold anything on there before), and they automatically listed it at $99, and if someone get's it, I get $90. Hopefully that works, but we'll see. And if that happens, I'll get the N3DS, and then put up my XL for sale after I transfer.

But I'm in no rush. I really don't need a N3DS, I just liked that Gamestop deal. I'm still happy with my XL.

Annnnnnd, my old 3DS sold. After the fees, I get $93.64.

Now I'm glad the Gamestop deal fell through. :funny:

Dungeon RPG Excave Being Localized For 3DS Release. February 11, 2015 . 3:29pm

Excave lets you customize your character with equipment that can be modified and upgraded, and has 50 dungeon levels to trek through.

Back in 2013, Mechanic Arms released a top-down dungeon RPG titled Excave for the Nintendo eShop. This game is now being localized for a 3DS release in North America and Europe by Teyon.

Excave lets you customize your character with equipment that can be modified and upgraded, and has 50 dungeon levels to trek through. Five of those levels contain boss fights. Excave is almost a dungeon RPG for beginners. It has elements of roguelikes, but it isn’t quite as punishing. You can read more about the game here.

Excave will be released on February 19th in North America for $4.99. Europe will get the game soon after, although a date has not yet been announced.

Well damn. I wanted to do the trade in, but without a transfer.

Nintendo really needs to get an account system.

So, I get 75, except I don't have a stylus, so that's 70. And I would have to give up my adapter, and buy a new one, so that's 60. And there's about 40 dollars worth of digital games on there which I would lose.

Yeah... I guess that's a no go.

Here's a question though.

I just set up a Nintendo Network ID on my 3DS, but I already bought software on it. If I do a transfer with that ID to a New 3DS, will I get the games I bought prior to getting the ID?

I hope so, but I want to make sure.

I think all your games are tied to your NID. So if you deactivated your current 3DS and activated your N3DS you could just re download your games. That's what I'm doing.

Despite popular belief, Nintendo does have an account system, that's exactly what the Nintendo ID is. The problem is that Nintendo has chosen to tie that ID to hardware, which causes a lot of the problems and confusion about the issue.
