Official Nintendo 3DS Thread

What in the hell with that Dragonball game haha? That is some real random ****. I'm thinking it'll end up staying in JP, though, seems very much in vein with those weird Hero games or whatever they are.

Anyway, a new model of n3DS XL is coming, themed around Fire Emblem Fates. It's $199, and like the recent Zelda themed n3DS systems that have come out, does not come with the game for some reason.

7YtY2Ou.jpg

Ugh I want that. I already got the Special Edition paid off

I lost complete track of dragon ball after GT which I enjoyed but they did some weird do over with kai and it's gone crazy from there, and just haven't looked at kai to what ever's going down currently . it's still a popular series both in japan and here since people are still buying the dubbed blue rays like hot cakes. so it's likely to still come here video game wise . But we'll see.

I'll put the full detail of fire emblem fates in it's thread.

Kai is just DBZ with the filler cut out, it's not anything new. The new films and the currently airing Super is actual new content.

I say that about the video game because there is a series of games called Heroes or something like that, and they have never been localized. They have a lot of wild what if things like that SS4 Broly and **** like that. Originally it was an Arcade thing that was tied to cards or something, but there has been 3DS versions that have never made it over here. This thing seems in that vein sort of.

isn't there a new series called Dragon ball super that 's show casing the Ss4 ? not brolly specifically but the new version/ level of the super saiyan .

Yes, as I said, Super and the newest two films are new content. Super is a TV series with its first episodes summing up the events of the newest films. But it's not SS4, SS4 was a GT creation, which is basically decanonized with Super. The new Super Saiyan forms are Super Saiyan God.

EDIT: Here's a link to the Heroes games I was referring to that have never been localized. As I said, it started out as an Arcade thing but did see releases on 3DS that were never brought over. I don't know if this Fusion game is part of that, but it seems similar since it had a bunch of weird and wacky alternate characters like that.

CoroCoro Comic has gone up with a new video featuring the first gameplay of Puzzle & Dragons X, GungHo Online Entertainment’s new Puzzle & Dragons RPG for 3DS.

Unlike its predecessors, Puzzle & Dragons Z and Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition, Puzzle & Dragons X is an authentic RPG featuring dungeons, random encounters, and the series’ traditional puzzle-based battle system.

There is also a new “Capture Mode,” where you fill up an enemy monster’s “Capture Gauge” also using the series’ traditional puzzle gameplay. If you successfully defeat a monster in this mode, you’ll get materials for “Soul Armor,” equipment bestowed with the power of your ally monsters, each with its own leader skills, and that changes the appearance of the hero. You can create Soul Armor at the Soul Armor Store in town.

Puzzle & Dragons X is due out for 3DS in Japan in 2016.

Includes first-ever western releases of Power Drift and Puyo Puyo 2.

Sega-3D-Classics_01-21-16.jpg

Sega is bringing its Sega 3D Classics Collection to 3DS the Americas on April 26, the publisher announced. It will cost $29.99 / CA$44.99.
It includes nine classic games, four of which have never been released on the 3DS previously and two of which have never been released outside of Japan. Each game has been enhanced with new visuals, game modes, and more.
Here’s the full list of included titles:
Titles Never Released Outside of Japan

  • Power Drift – This sprite-based circuit racer puts you head to head against other AI racers in a twisting, turning, jumping, looping race to the finish.
  • Puyo Puyo 2 – This head-to-head competitive puzzle game is simple to learn, hard to master, and compellingly addictive. Compete against the AI or friends in local multiplayer. Note: because of the quirks of trying to localize a game hard-coded in Japanese, the game has been left entirely in its original language. English instructions are available in the included digital manual.
Titles Not Released on the 3DS Before

  • Maze Walker – Originally designed for the SegaScope 3-D glasses on the Sega Master System, Maze Walker comes to life on the 3DS, faithfully reproducing the sense of depth as players try to escape the mysterious, twisting maze filled with unknown dangers. Originally released as Maze Hunter for the Master System in the West.
  • Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa-Opa – The sentient space ship Opa-Opa is back to defend its bases from evil (but cute!) invaders in the classic scrolling shooter. For SEGA history buffs, this version ofFantasy Zone II is the original Master System version.
Previously Released Titles

  • Fantasy Zone II W –Fantasy Zone II W, which was originally created for the Master System, is the version of Fantasy Zone II upgraded to the graphical capabilities of the System- 16 arcade board with added 3D effects. You can enjoy it in 2 game modes with different rules.
  • Sonic The Hedgehog – The evil scientist, Dr. Eggman (aka Dr. Robotnik), has snatched the animals of South Island, turning them into robot slaves. Only the famed blue blur can defeat Dr. Eggman and rescue the animals from his vile clutches in the game that started it all for the fastest hedgehog – Sonic!
  • Thunder Blade – In Thunder Blade, players control a helicopter and use guns and missiles to destroy enemy vehicles while flying between buildings, through caves, and into enemy bases. The re-mastered version boasts stereoscopic 3D visuals and adds a host of new features.
  • Galaxy Force II – As the star pilot of the Space Federation, it’s up to you to strap yourself into your TRY-X fighter and turn the tables on the invade forces of Halcyon and the Fourth Empire in this 3D shoot ’em up. This remastered version has upgraded graphics with double the resolution of the original for a more pleasing aesthetic.
  • Altered Beast – Summoned from the dead by Zeus, players in Altered Beast must shape shift into various beasts and fight off hordes of demons to rescue the captured Athena from the clutches of Neff. Offers local co-op multiplayer.

Dragon Ball Project Fusion Lets You Fuse Just About Every Character In The Series. January 25, 2016 . 5:30am

The magazine scan confirms that characters from the anime, games,
and card games can be fused as well, with possibilities of Dragon Ball Heroes characters and fusions making an appearance, too.

Bandai Namco announced Dragon Ball Project Fusion last week, and we got some more details on it in the latest issue of V-Jump. [Thanks, Shonen Gamez.]

The theme of the game is “infinite possibilities” for fusions, which is demonstrated with Goku and Broly on the magazine scan, which also revealed that a manga project has been announced in Saikyou Jump.

The magazine scan confirms that characters from the anime, games, and card games can be fused as well, with possibilities of Dragon Ball Heroes characters and fusions making an appearance, too.

The magazine also features a fusion drawing contest, which will have its winner have their fusion warrior appear in the upcoming manga.

Dragon Ball Project Fusion is planned for release in Japan sometime in 2016 for Nintendo 3DS. We’ll likely get details along with the game’s first screenshots or trailer in the near future.

Sega 3D Classics Collection includes retro decal set
Published 9 hours ago. 12 comments.

Included with pre-orders and launch copies.

Pre-orders and a limited number of launch copies of the physical edition of Sega 3D Classics Collection for 3DS will include a Sega Classics Decal Sheet bonus item, Sega announced.

The Sega Classics Decal Sheet features nine Sega logos and console stickers. The decals are a silver hue and make a nice addition to your 3DS.
Here’s a history lesson on the decals, courtesy of Sega:

  • Master System logo – Originally released in 1985 as the Sega Mark-III in Japan, the Master System was redesigned and renamed when it launched in North America in 1986 with an added FM Sound Unit.

  • Master System console – An authentic line-art likeness of the North American/European version of the console!

  • Mega Drive logo – Originally released in Japan in 1988, the Mega Drive was the 16-bit successor to the Master System. Widely considered one of the greatest video game consoles of all time, the system was home to many classic games such as Altered Beast, Sonic the Hedgehog, and many more.

  • Genesis logo – Please choose a “Blast Processing” joke to your liking. Are we good here?

  • Genesis console – An authentic line-art likeness of the Model 1 SEGA Genesis console!

  • 16-Bit – Emblazoned on the front of the Genesis, the 16-Bit logo let everyone know you were working with POWER. Affix this decal to give a blast processing boost to whatever needs it most.*

  • Professor Asobin –Before Sonic, Alex Kidd, and Opa Opa, this dapper white rabbit appeared in most SG-1000 game manuals and gave helpful advice to players. Although he was briefly replaced by Dr. Games, he soon returned and appeared in game manuals up until the Mega Drive/Genesis era.

  • SEGA logo – A SEGA decal collection wouldn’t be complete without the company logo!

  • GigaDrive logo – This last logo represents something different than the other ones we’ve covered because it’s a “virtual console.” In order for the SEGA 3D Classics Collection to run perfectly on the Nintendo 3DS, developer M2 created the GigaDrive which is how these games take full advantage of the 3DS’s capabilities (such as stereoscopic 3D).
Sega 3D Classics Collection is due out for 3DS in the Americas on April 2. Read more about what’s included here.

Ace Attorney 6 details basic systems

Published 47 mins ago. 0 comments.

A basic overview of the upcoming 3DS sequel.

Capcom has released new Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 6 information and screenshots, introducing the game’s basic systems.
Get the information below.
■ Basic Systems
The stories of this series fundamentally progresses through “Detective Parts” and “Courtroom Parts.” This game is set in two countries, however, progression is the same. When an incident occurs, you’ll investigate the crime scene and those connected to the event, and gather evidence and testimonies via “Detective Parts.”

And with the evidence and testimonies gathered in the Detective Parts, you’ll battle prosecutors and witnesses in “Courtroom Parts” to uncover the truth of the incident.

■ Detective Parts

AA6_02-18-16_001.jpg

Talk, investigate, press, and move. With these four elements, you’ll gather testimonies from persons connected to the incident and incident-related evidence that will become clues to helping out your client. Investigate everywhere as not to miss anything!

■ Courtroom Parts

AA6_02-18-16_002.jpg

Battle witnesses and prosecutors and spot their lies and inconsistencies. Shake up testimonies that conflict with your own gathered evidence and testimonies, throw evidence at inconsistencies, and arrive at the truth!

■ Gather Evidence and Information through Detective Parts

AA6_02-18-16_003.jpg

Investigate the crime scene, hear out those connected to the case, and gather clues and evidence related to the incident. The amount of places you can investigate is the highest it’s ever been in the series so far, making investigation even more enjoyable.

The amount of places you can go by progressing the story have increased, but with it, so have the amount of places you can investigate.

Make use of the “Detective Memo” when you need a clue as to what action to take next. The evidence you collect will be listed in the “Courtroom Record” on the lowe rscreen. Be sure to check it often. Some of the evidenced items can be investigated in 3D.

More Places to Investigate

AA6_02-18-16_004.jpg

The locations you can move to are gradually increasing. Thoroughly investigate and grab clues wherever you go. At first glance, there may not be seem to be anything related to the incident, but examine closer and there might be a hint of something.

Switch Your Point of View

AA6_02-18-16_005.jpg

There are crime scenes that are expressed in 3D. As not to miss any trivial evidence, change up the viewpoint of the camera and investigate the scene from a different angle.

Collect Clues from Related Individuals
AA6_02-18-16_006.jpg

By talking, you can hear stories from those connected to the case. Select a topic and gather information related to the event.

By pressing with evidence related to the case, you might also be able to bring out new information.

Additionally, if you don’t know what to do next, you can open the “Detective Memo” for a hint.

■ Expose Lies and Inconsistencies through Courtroom Parts

AA6_02-18-16_007.jpg

In order to help out innocent defendants, fight witnesses and prosecutors using lies and inconsistent testimonies and reveal the truth of the incident.
http://gematsu.com/tag/screenshots

A witness’ testimony is not necessarily a correct one. With the information and evidence you’ve gathered during Detective Parts, if you feel even the slightest inconsistency in a witness’ testimony, you can point it out immediately through “Press” and “Present.”

Ace Attorney 6 Hands-On: Phoenix Wright And Spirit Medium Vision. February 19, 2016 . 6:30pm

Phoenix recalls how when he first met Bokuto, the conditions were much more dire – and in classic Ace Attorney fashion,
you are sent back to re-live a trial where you are his only line of defense against the lawyer-less Kurain justice system.
Off in a small corner of the Monster Hunter Festa event in Nagoya was a demo corner for upcoming CAPCOM games, including the new Ace Attorney game – aptly named Ace Attorney 6. I was eager to see what the game’s new setting had to offer, so I rushed off to wait in line and try my hand at the demo. Here’s what I saw.

The game begins with Phoenix talking to a happy, seemingly worry-free Bokuto Tsuani, a priest in training revealed back at the Tokyo Game Show in September. Phoenix recalls how when he first met Bokuto, the conditions were much more dire – and in classic Ace Attorney fashion, you are sent back to re-live a trial where you are his only line of defense against the lawyer-less Kurain justice system. Gaspen Payne, who fled to Kurain after years of shameful prosecutions in Japan, is now the country’s best prosecutor.

Bokuto has been accused of killing one Mima Waruhito, who died of blunt trauma to the head, in sacred chambers (in this case a treasure room) restricted to members of the Kurain Royal Family. If he’s not going to get grilled for murder, Payne at least wants to catch him in his own lie and nail him on charges of trespassing. Phoenix knows more about the situation than the player though, constantly asking himself why Bokuto is lying about not being at the scene – and in that, you find contradiction that seems to condemn him.

Payne produces a newspaper article in which a black and white photo of the sacred chamber’s treasure box, which only members of the Kurain Royal Family may lay eyes on makes the front page. This sends Bokuto into a panic, who states that he knows he wasn’t supposed to enter the chamber and that he’d never seen “that box with the green Kurain family crest.” Green, you say? That’s quite a specific detail for a black and white photo. OBJECTION!

This proves that he was in the treasure room…but the conditions of the murder are still unclear. Enter Lefya, the Princess Medium of Kurain, known in its courts as the Oracle of Spirits.

Bokuto constantly asks Phoenix not to say his name – as doing so causes him to experience considerable pain. It seems that this pain is somehow connected to his underdeveloped medium powers – so Lefya steps in to do some legwork. After a stern warning that “this country has no need for lawyers,” (seemingly insulted by the fact that Phoenix is ‘bending the truth’) she performs a holy dance and channels the victim’s spirit to display his final moments in the Water Mirror at the court room’s center.

This Spirit Medium Vision is Ace Attorney 6’s new spiritual and grim mini-game. On the bottom screen there are a number of tabs – each represent a moment of the victim’s final memories. Much like how emotions became stronger and weaker during certain sections of testimony in Ace Attorney 5: Dual Destinies’ Mood Matrix sections, experiences tied to your five senses like “hearing” and “smell” disappear or reappear during sections of these memories.

You can pause these moments with L, or speed them up with Y and A if you wish. The goal is to identify a moment where the senses betray the testimony or the memory itself – but only just as I started this mini-game were we pulled away from the demo. It was left wondering at what moment “A young boy’s voice, a ceremonial song,” or “the smell of incense” contradicted what I understood of the case.

Post-Demo Impressions
Moving away from the demo itself, I want to mention a few things the new setting had me thinking about.

Though we’ve seen Apollo in the previews, Phoenix has no consulting partner at the beginning of the game. As in other games, when the player goes through the witness’s entire testimony without presenting evidence, Phoenix (or whoever you control) briefly gather themselves and vaguely guide the player on how to proceed. In Ace Attorney 6, after hearing all of Bokuto’s testimony, Phoenix laments over not having anybody to consult. The game puts particular emphasis on this point.

Kurain may be Maya’s bloodline, but, the state of the country is in fact an antithesis to her character in the original trilogy: Maya understands the limitations of her powers, knowing full well that the famous Kurain channeling technique, as well as items like the Magatama that reveal Psyche Locks, require equal parts law to be in balance. In Kurain, however, that logic is backwards – the powers here are so great, they are above law.
It seems like Phoenix presents more of a problem in this country, to the point where he is almost an enemy – even to the judge – and with the Mystic Vision power only able to recall the final moments of the dead, could there be manipulation at work for those who understand the Kurain family’s powers? Moreover, does questioning those powers have consequences? How will Kurain be affected by the realization that Lefya’s powers are not absolute?

The game’s undertone is law, but its cornerstone is logic and perception.

With Apollo taking the stand alone in the preview, and Phoenix being alone in the demo, it seems Mr. Wright might be taking on something just a little out of his league. He might even need his own spirit medium of his own to help.

Also, on the note of the first victim’s name, it’s a reference to the Sanskrit word मीमांसा or Mimasa, a school of Hindu Philosophy whose name literally means “Investigation.” In a photo of the crime scene, Mima is shown holding a scroll, and dressed ever so slightly like a thief. There is much more to the trial than 15 minutes could have given.

I was worried that the whole Fates splitting thing would hurt the franchise here in the States, but looks like I was wrong:

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--With more than 300,000 units sold between all versions of the Fire Emblem Fates game during its launch weekend, the Nintendo 3DS strategy RPG earns a place in the record books as the fastest-selling game in the history of the long-running, critically acclaimed franchise in the United States. The game sold more than five times as many units as 2013’s Fire Emblem Awakening, the previous record holder in the United States, during its first three days of availability.

Ace Attorney 6 details Athena Cykes, Mood Matrix

Published 3 hours ago. 2 comments.

The emotion reader returns for the upcoming sequel.

Capcom has released new Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 6 information and screenshots introducing assistant lawyer Athena Cykes and the “Mood Matrix” system.

Get the information below.
Athena Cykes

AA6_02-24-16_001.jpg

A novice lawyer at Phoenix Wright’s Wright Anything Agency. She is a very lively and emotional girl. Always full of energy, she supports Phoenix Wright and Apollo Justice. But sometimes her emotions get the best of her and she can be a bit reckless.

Because she still appears to be an apprentice, she puts in strenuous effort in order to be recognized as a standalone lawyer. In court, she has the special power to read a person’s “emotion” from the tone of their voice and bring out the truth hidden in the back of their mind.

Mood Matrix

AA6_02-24-16_002.jpg

Using the “Mood Matrix” system, you can take advantage of psycho-analyst Athena’s special ability. By hearing a person’s emotion from the tone of their voice, you can find a contradiction hiding within the witness’ emotion.
In any human being, even if their testimony is falsified, you cannot falsify emotions. If you notice their emotion differs from their testimony, you can attempt to point out their emotion of happiness, anger, sadness, or surprise on the bottom screen. If you’re successful, the hidden truth will come to light.

Ok, so Gamestop is having a trade in sale where I can basically get $75 off a New 3DS XL by trading in my current 3DS. Now, I've heard this is a very complicated process in terms of save files, so what do I need to know? I've only had this 3DS for 3 months and the only downloaded thing that I should have, at the moment, is my Fire Emblem Birthright DLC. I'm getting Pokemon Yellow, but I'm going to wait to download.

So what kind of process should I be expecting, and how can I make it easier?

Starting on March 11, some of the most popular and critically acclaimed Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games become a part of the Nintendo Selects program and will be available at a suggested retail price of only $19.99 each. Wii U games like Super Mario 3D World, an imaginative four-player adventure with Mario and friends that received numerous Game of the Year awards and nominations when it first launched in 2013, join Nintendo 3DS standouts such as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, one of the most critically acclaimed Nintendo 3DS games of all time.

“Whether you just picked up a new Wii U or Nintendo 3DS system over the holiday season or want to expand your ever-growing game collection, Nintendo Selects are a great, affordable option,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “Not only are these games easier than ever to enjoy, but they also represent some of our highest-quality offerings in recent memory.”

Other Wii U games joining the Nintendo Selects family are Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Pikmin 3 and NES Remix Pack. Fun Nintendo 3DS games Yoshi’s New Island, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D and Mario Party: Island Tour can also be purchased at the new low suggested retail price of $19.99 each on March 11. Additionally, a group of classics from the Wii console that can be played on Wii U will be available at the reduced Nintendo Selects price. This includes Super Mario Galaxy 2, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Donkey Kong Country Returns and Super Mario All-Stars.
So the $30 was Canadian prices after all, and the Selects are $20 in the States.

is the Wii U region locked?

Want those games in the UK at that price, not paying £40+ for them... even the second hand ones are that high here

I will definitely pick up Ocarina of Time 3D at that price. ****.YEAH
