You've played the original, right? If you haven't played it then stop what you're doing and dive head first into it.

Make sure you have the New 3DS, though. If you have the older 3DSs, you can't play it.

I remember SpideyVille got a 3DS from someone, so I don't think he has a New one...unless he upgraded.

Yeah I played it. I have so many memories playing the original. I tried Returns for a few minutes and it just felt off for some reason.

Yeah, I got the original 3DS from my ex, but then I traded it in and got a New XL for half the price. :woot:

I'm really happy with having Earthbound on my handheld. It's somehow more enjoyable to play on the go than on console. DKC as well.

I've barely played Earthbound. I'm thinking about picking it up for the 3DS.

I liked the environment and quirkiness of Earthbound, but the actual gameplay was pretty tedious to me.

The Nintendo DSi Shop Will Be Closing In 2017. March 31, 2016 . 11:00am

Nintendo’s European branch says the Nintendo DSi Shop will close next year, and people’s last chance to buy games from it will be March 31, 2017.

Nintendo has put out a notice concerning the Nintendo DSi Shop. The European branch of the company says the handheld’s digital storefront will close in 2017. On September 30, 2016, people will lose the ability to add Nintendo DSi Points to their accounts, and on March 31, 2017, people won’t be able to purchase DSi Shop games. Nintendo hasn’t said when people will lose the ability to redownload purchased DSiWare games to their Nintendo DSi systems.

In the update announcing the DSi Shop’s closure, Nintendo confirmed that Nintendo DSi Points will not be refunded and can not be added to a Nintendo eShop balance. It also reminded people that DSiWare games can be transferred to a Nintendo 3DS if people download the Nintendo 3DS Transfer Tool from the Nintendo DSi Shop and begin a System Transfer on the target Nintendo 3DS system.

The Nintendo DSi Shop launched in 2009, alongside the Nintendo DSi.

Crunchyroll Is Airing New Episodes Of The Ace Attorney Anime Every Saturday. April 4, 2016 . 9:00am

New episodes of the Ace Attorney anime series will appear every Saturday on Crunchyroll. The first episode is now online.

26 Thoughts Read >

Capcom has announced that Crunchyroll will be streaming the new Ace Attorney anime series as new episodes are released in Japan. The first episode appeared on April 2, 2016 and is available now, and subsequent episodes will appear every Saturday morning.

You must be a Crunchyroll member to watch the full episodes of the Ace Attorney anime. Those who aren’t are limited to two minute sample clips.

The Ace Attorney anime is in Japanese with English subtitles. That means the standard subtitles use the Japanese names for characters. (Phoenix Wright is Naruhodo Ryuichi, Miles Edgeworth is Mitsurugi Reiji, Maya Fey is Ayasato Mayoi, and so on.) However, Crunchyroll is testing an alternate subtitle track on the web that uses the English character names. To use it, you must right click on the video and choose “alt track.”

The first episode of the Ace Attorney anime covers the first case in the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney game. Phoenix’s best friend, Larry Butz, has been accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend, Cindy Stone, and Phoenix must clear his name.

Ace Attorney 6 details Trucy Wright, Ema Sky, more

Published 16 hours ago. 14 comments.

Phoenix Wright's adopted daughter accused of crime.

Capcom has released new Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 6 information and screenshots introducing characters Ema Sky, Trucy Wright, Mimi Nanano, and Kanenari Shinoyama.
Get the information below.
Ema Sky (voiced by Marina Inoue)

AA6_04-07-16_001.jpg

A female detective who sometimes stands in the same courtroom as Phoenix Wright and Apollo Justice.

She loves science and aimed at becoming a forensic investigator since high school, but failed her exams many times over. However, this time she passes her exams brilliantly and re-appears as the forensic investigator she’s always wanted to become.

A lively girl, she’ll appear in high spirits on the scene to investigate.

Trucy Wright (voiced by Chieko Higuchi)

AA6_04-07-16_002.jpg

A cheerful magician girl adopted by Phoenix Wright nine years prior.

She makes various things appear and disappear using the “Magic Panties” she holds in her hand, and does ventriloquism with her humorous puppet, “Mr. Hat.” In this game, her magic ability has reached adulthood, and she serves as the leading role in a magic show at a grand theater. And in that show is a surprising display of big magic.

—With Phoenix Wright absent, the Wright Anything Agency is in a pinch!

AA6_04-07-16_003.jpg

One day, just before the performance of the magic show of her own Trucy always wanted, “Trucy’s In All-Magical-Land,” Apollo & Athena get invited to a dress rehearsal for friends and family.

Although Trucy favorably proceeds the rehearsal, what appeared to be successful magic triggered unexpected trouble. From out of nowhere, the dead body of her co-star Mr. Menyo appears. And even more, and accident is caused when the stage setting falls.

—Trucy arrested!? Can Apollo and Athena prove her innocence?

AA6_04-07-16_004.jpg

Trucy was arrested as liable for the incident. Additionally, her magic show was broadcast live, and an extreme bashing attacking Trucy’s lack of preparation begins on TV.

If this continues, performances for Trucy’s dream magic show will come to a stop, and Trucy’s life as a magician will also come to an end.

AA6_04-07-16_005.jpg

Believing in the words of Trucy that “magic is supposed to succeed,” Apollo Justice and company take over her defense in order to prove her innocence.

But confronting them in court is Nayuta Sadmadhi, the Kurain Kingdom-born international prosecutor who despises criminals and lawyers. A prosecutor of amazing skill who solves difficult cases regularly, it is said he “completely reads the flow of cause and effect in the courtroom.” Can Apollo take down the courtroom tactics of Nayuta and prove Trucy’s innocence?

Mimi Nanano

AA6_04-07-16_006.jpg

A novice magician who plays a bunny on Trucy’s stage. She respects Trucy as a super first-rank magician.

Kanenari Shinoyama

AA6_04-07-16_007.jpg

Well known by pet name “Yamashino-P,” Kanenari is a famous producer at Nidomi TV. He appears in programs himself, riveting viewers. He is always joking and gets carried away easily, but is actually quite the “man of ability.”

Why you Should Start Watching Ace Attorney!

Posted on April 10, 2016 | 1 Comment
I am not raising an Objection with this one!Continue Reading...

Yes I said “Start Watching”! See this anime season we are being treated to an Anime adaptation of the Ace Attorney series. I’ve often said among my friends, it would be nice if there was an Ace Attorney anime and well here I am in April of 2016 watching it on Crunchyroll. Ace Attorney is a series of Point-and-click adventure mystery games originally for the GameBoy Advance but then released on the Nintendo DS. In any case I enjoyed the games quite a lot so I have high hopes for the anime since the source material is solid stuff. I have only watched the first episode so far but the second episode was just put up so I will be checking that one out as well. I should note, I will be referring to the characters by their localized names.

ace-attorney6.png

Something I immediately noticed was the animation quality and even the artwork was not the best. It is not the worst looking anime out there, but for a series that is known for its wacky characters bursting (sometimes literally) with personality and charm its a bit disappointing to see how they came out here. Maybe it is just me but the sprites from the games seem a bit more detailed. For example the Judge looks a lot less intimidating in the show than he did in game. Also it looks like they used CG animation to animate the jury which looks a bit weird. Below is a comparison of the 3DS version of the Phoenix Wright trilogy with the Anime.

It follows the story of the first game(so far)
This is the story of a new defense attorney’s rise to fame. If you have never played the games this show will show you where it all begins. The first episode involved his first case: a murder. As a result, not too many characters were introduced. You meet Phoenix, his friend Larry, his mentor Mia, and one of many prosecutors you will be seeing throughout the series. It also has all the cross examinations, objections and they even went the extra step to recreate the character animations right from the game!

cross-examination-610x344.png

Lots of easter eggs for fans of the game
Right in the beginning of the episode and even throughout it, I saw nice little nods to future cases in the series. I guess its a form of foreshadowing. One in particular I liked, was Phoenix’s old shirt. This may not mean much to those of you just jumping in to this series for the first time, but fans of the series know what this means….
ace-attorney.png
See that ‘Ryu’ shirt? I can’t wait until the anime gets to that point in the story.
Each episode seems to involve one case or a specific trial
I am merely basing this off of the preview for the next episode but the next episode is going to be the infamous turnabout sisters case. This is where Wright meets Maya but not under the best circumstances. Those of you who know the games know exactly what I am talking about but I won’t spoil it for you newcomers. In any case it looks like the episodes will be split up by trial which makes it easy to follow and re-watch.

So the other 3 SNES titles are up now.

-A Link to the Past
-DKC2
-Super Metroid

Sweet!

This is going to sound like a really dumb question, but I just watched the trailer for A Link to the Past. Is it basically the original version of A Link Between World?

Ha, yeah. A Link between Worlds is the spiritual sequel to Past.

But out of that list, I'm getting Super Metroid first. I haven't played that game in about 15 years, so I've forgotten where to go. It'll be like playing for the first time again.

Ace Attorney 6 details 3D Fingerprint Detection

Published 23 hours ago. 12 comments.
Find out the fingerprint's owner to unearth new facts.

Capcom has released new Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 6 information and screenshots introducing the game’s “3D Fingerprint Detection” system via forensic scientist Ema Skye.

Get the information below.
■ 3D Fingerprint Detection Part 1: Detection

AA6_04-13-16_001.jpg

There are several types of forensic sciences in Ace Attorney 6, which Ema Skye specializes in.

This time, we’re looking at “3D Fingerprint Detection,” one of the several among them. This adds a new element to the “Fingerprint Detection” introduced in past entries.

Use powder to reveal fingerprints!

AA6_04-13-16_002.jpg

First off, in order to collect fingerprints, you’ll need to apply a special powder to the place where fingerprints might be located, and then blow it away for the fingerprints to appear. Repeat this several times to get a clear fingerprint.

[New] Rotate the box and thoroughly detect the fingerprint!

AA6_04-13-16_003.jpg

In Ace Attorney 6, it’s possible to rotate the evidence 360 degrees in every direction. You should focus and apply powder to the locations likely touched by the culprit’s hands.

AA6_04-13-16_004.jpg

■ 3D Fingerprint Detection Part 2: Comparison
Each person has a unique fingerprint. If you can find the same fingerprint as the one you identified from a list of characters, you can then identify its owner.

AA6_04-13-16_005.jpg

Once the fingerprint you applied powder to becomes clear, you’ll first choose the fingerprint to be compared, which will be displayed on the left side of the upper screen.

Next, you’ll compare the detected fingerprint with similar fingerprints from a list of characters, which are displayed to the right of the detected fingerprint. If you can recognize the fingerprint, various new facts will come to light.
