wha? what is that, that looks like a published Ebert review!

I deleted it because some people are saying it's photoshop.

Either way, like I said before, I don't care or pay any attention what he gives the movie.

Nah, it's a manip some guy at The Planet made to make a point how anyone could do a fake Ebert review in photoshop. I need to find that paper to see it for myself.

I saw this at a different forum:

Ebert gave The Omen, X3, DVC 3 stars, but SR 2 stars only???

Does someone have the ACTUAL paper printed in Chicago Sun-Time.

Its a good manip then.

Regardless, I dont see why anyone is sweating these reviews, Ebert can give it half a star, and it'll be just another "WTF did THEY watch?" review against the tide of overwhelmingly positive reviews.

One has 156 minutes for SR, another has 140, what is the real running time again?

I just posted it one post above yours (previous page though)... at least I think that's what you were referring to... :)

156. Now the one that has 156 listed is definitely fake, however now I'm not so sure about the other one either.

No, he meant an actual original copy of the paper.

SR is NOT 140 mins.....

Guys, the overabundance of positive reviews, still chugging in, speak for themselves. The fact that Ebert didn't like this film doens't phase me all that much. I'm surprised a bit. But, so what...? Perosnally, I've disagreed with Ebert on quite a few occassions -- most notably his ratings for X3, DVC, and V for Vendetta. In fact, anyone who could give X3 anything above a 2 star rating pretty much has no standing in my book since that film was a insult to the movie industry and, if we must, fans (even though they don't seem to realize it). I also am always in shock that Batman Begins Third Act slides under everyone's radar with all its massive flaws -- as it did Ebert.

Singer's one of those directors that resonates with some, not others. And with Superman, this is even harder. We could be seeing much much much much more devestating reviews than this -- look at where X3 went before it opened -- bad reviews galore, or luckwarm.

SR's are all fairly strong.

well, it's been confirmed that the running time is 2 hours and (approximately) 35 minutes...that equals out to 155 minutes.

Found another, more-detailed review over at IGN.com

I haven't seen this one be posted, but it goes more into detail about characters and plot, comparing them to current comics. Interesting read.

Ebert's entitled to his opinion. It doesn't really matter anyway. The film is getting great reviews across the board. Many are responding to it. There are a few who are not but that's okay.

The film is still coming and that's the best part about this....

PS, Yes, Ebert was high when he gave his review of The Last Stand. That film shouldn't have gotten even a star. And yes, I'm freaking bias. Fox screwed themselves in their treatment of Singer.

bosef,

The third act of Batman Begins isn't so much flawed as it isn't as compelling as the first two acts of that film. And even if you take that into account, the best you could do is drop one star off it if you were going by Ebert's review.

Still, it's the definitive Batman at this point right now. There's nothing close to it.

That was a good analysis. Pretty much what I am anticipating for the film. And yes, Bosworth is not right for the role.

You know, I´m gonna wait and see the Ebert and Roeper comment and his OFFICIAL online review.

wow.....the fact that ebert could kiss X3's ass and then give SR a two baffles me....

HAHHAHAHHA All you SR fan are *****, the man gave his review, if you don't like it you don't have to accpet it. Maybe you should see that he is comparing this to the orignal and the first sequel and for him it doesn't match up.

Cause he liked X3 more than SR and god forbid felt something that others may have not?

I'll probably like SR more than X3, but that doesn't mean that that's the case for everybody. Has anyone ever heard of "opinions" before?

Well, I for once think the hatred for X3 on these boards is exaggerated... Some people make it sound like another Elektra... That´s one of the things that annoy me with fanboys, nothing can be simply "okay", it´s black or white, things rule or suck.
