And yet Coulson shows up in the original picture after Tony gets rescued from terrorists. There wasn't anything superpowered about that situation at all but there's Phil Coulson from SHIELD, wanting to debrief Stark.

Just sayin'....
He wanted to debrief Stark about the specifics of his escape, i.e. that they know he build a super suit. When we first see Coulson it's after the Mark II flight sequence, so SHIELD probably already knew what he was up to. Like Fury says, Stark was about to enter a whole new universe.

I'm pretty sure Coulson shows up at the press conference Tony holds right after getting off the plane. And getting a burger.

You are correct, my bad. Even so, that doesn't negate the first sentence of my post.

Hello? Stark had already built and sold advanced tech before the films ever began*. Thus SHIELD already had an eye on him. It's not hard.

*Not to mention Howards involvment with teh Tesseract. Tony was probably on SHIELDS radar when he was 10.

Oh, I'm just picking nits. I have no doubt that SHIELD had good reason to have Stark on their radar even before the suit.

The movie was good, not great.
I prefer the first one. he had like 2 suits in the first and in this one I was looking forward to seeing all the types we saw in the photos but they were on screen for miliseconds. Iron Partiot did nothing but kick doors down. Lame.

Stupid epilogue.Horrible. I thought we might see Falcon, or Wakanda, Winter soldier stuff or something cool from Phase 2.

Not worth waiting until the end of the credits.

I think the batfan is just upset his favorite studio could never get someone as talented as RDJ for their DC related films. Whining about what score a film receives at RT is a new low. Hope they have good luck with that Justice League movie...someday.

I loved Iron Man 3 but.....really with this comment? Not the second half, I mean, Justice League is never coming. But the part regarding actors. Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Tom Hardy, Liam Neeson and Michael Shannon disagree.

And I'd give the movie a 9.5.

Please allow Tommy Lee Jones, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Tim Roth, Idris Elba, Sam Rockwell, Gwyneth Paltrow, William Hurt, Mickey Rourke, Hugo Weaving, Stanley Tucci, Jeff Bridges, Don Cheadle, Sam Jackson, Rene Russo, and Ed Norton to retort.

:)

^ whoa and those aren't even the main roles yet lol.. You can add about 8 more big names to that list. Pretty crazy when you look at it like that. Both franchises have their big name hitters though no need to squabble :)

He's saying that they couldn't get anyone as talented as RDJ, that list disagreed. Especially Morgan Freeman. I'm not saying the MCU doesn't have fantastic actors/actresses, since it does, just that the good recent DC films (MOS, we'll see but it looks good so far) have a nice list as well.

But there's also Marion Cotillard, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Cillian Murphy, Eric Roberts, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Tom Wilkinson and Ken Watanabe. And, MOS brings in Russell Crowe, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Christopher Meloni and Laurence Fishbourne.

And, you forgot Haley Atwell.

But, there is a heavy hitter that both franchises are missing. And that heavy hitter is:

I wish Cillian Murphy was in more stuff :(

I just have to say that Tommy Lee Jones and Hugo Weaving are also on the DC actors list. Lets not forget about Marlon Brando Gene Hackman Tim Robbins Ryan Reynolds

5 out of 10. I honestly liked IM2 better. What was that... we traded the awesome Ben Kingsley Mandarin from the trailers for Guy Pearce's lame burning man crew and a drunken actor. That's not the film I thought I was going to.

Shield was aware of how tony escaped the cave. Couple that with the fact tonys father founding shield. And its pretty easy to see why they were there. It had nothing to do with terrorism

Iron Man 3

Despite the fact that Marvel & Paramount pictures barely kept anything secret about Iron
Man 3 a secret,it still managed to entertain me.Though i found it sorely lacking in some
areas.

What it has going for it is Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man,who is now haunted
and having sleepless nights due to the events that took place in The Avengers.Who wouldnt
be a bit sleepless after finding out that God's exist in another realm, and that aliens can plop down
to Earth via a wormhole in a bid to take it over.
I liked the progress of Tony's relationship with Virginia "Pepper" Potts(Gwyneth Paltrow) and
also Potts having a more active part in the story.
Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian was interesting throughout the film.I enjoyed the Extremis plotline
throughout the film also.
I enjoyed the great moments of humor and tremendous amounts of actions.
Director Shane Black throws in some nice touches here and there that worked for the most part.

IM3 doesnt gain any points by reducing a character to a painfully unfunny one note joke.
Other side characters are poorly developed ,unnecessary, and their motivations for certain actions
didnt measure up.One of the main reason why people invest in a character is their vulnerability, and
i feel a part of that was stripped away to easily.

In the end i am looking forward to the films that make up the rest of Marvel's Phase 2.
Iron Man 4?? I will patiently wait for Iron Man to mix it up again with the Avengers in Avengers 2

Scale of 1-10 a 7½

I've had issues with puters all weekend, but I did see IM3 friday. To ME it's an 8 only because,

unless Killian IS just a pawn of the real mandarin and the actor was a look-a-like

I mean if they don't mean to even try to change that, it's just disrespecting the Iron Man Mythos.

I have a question regarding tony controlling the suits in the finale.....
When Tony has the suit come to him, Rhodey asks Tony to send him a suit.. but Tony responds that they are coded to him, but that he gots his back.... Was Tony only joking with Rhodey at that point and really didnt want to give him a suit at that point? I say this because at two different points in the movie, Tony is able to throw his suit onto other individuals.... both Pepper and Killian. Could somebody help explain that?

He can only do that with the Mark 42, and that just arrives at the end. The Mark 42 locks on Pepper during the attack on Stark's house as well.

Yeah Remember Mark 42
was litterally the last armor he was working on at the open of the film. He had JUST inserted the last Biochip into his arm.

I don't see how it's disrespectful to reinvent a character who has constantly been reinvented in the comics. Especially when the film version has very interesting things to say about the nature of heroes and villains, and about how said heroes and villains are usually nothing more than the creations and fantasies and nightmares of mass media.

Nailed it.:yay:

Well to ME, unless the Mandarin Twist IS just another Twist, the Whinning Killian
being Mandrin is LAME.
That's my biggest gripe. Just like Hammer, I just wanted to kick Killian in the nads....oh wait....that's right he has none.
I can deal with Mandarin actually being like we were led to believe he really was like...
..and the Mandarin we saw was just a look-a-like, but Killian being the Actual Mandarin is as lame as Whiplash and Dynamo being combined to other fans.
