I gotta say I am lovin this game very much! finally got the win 10 ranked in a row and win 10 endless in a row achievements! they were tough but it felt good to get them, the last fight for the 10 ranked in a row was me (guile) vs a sagat with 2X as many points as me, I thought I was done for sure and would have to start all over again but I managed to win in a close bout :)

Congrats Sparta!

Thanks Raiden!! I gotta thank Capcom as well, if they didn't tweak Sagat to make him more balanced I never would have won that last fight :) I find that I am winning against Sagat these days instead of certain defeat in regular SF4 cause he was so strong then.

i must admit the one thing i miss it the option to view the unlocked endings, wonder why they took that out

i owned sagat in vanilla 4 for the most part, but it is definitely MUCH easier. i love facing sagats now.

i hate ibuki, especially with guile. her freakin' dagger throw in the air plus cross-up owns me pretty hard...if only flash kick could work a little like the srk and stop that nonsense. however if i zone her right, i can beat most ibuki players. i'd say the hardest matchups for guile for me is ibuki, sakura (which is somewhat surprising but not really), and ryu/ken/akuma. turtling akumas are the worst; they just spam fireballs from the air and ground and teleport whenever pinned in a corner. it's ridiculous.

dudley is not as good as i expected. i've been playing with cody, and even though i suck with him, he's pretty fun to play.

Anyone else a little disturbed by the Homo-erotic 'embrace' of Ken and Ryu at the menu screen?

So, here's a question. Do I get anything in Super if I buy the alternate uniforms in Vanilla?

haha yeah I thought that was funny, it looks like they are about to make out :p

nope, only bonus is if you have a save game file from SF4 you get colors 11 and 12 for SSF4 (in all costumes for all characters)

yeah I find Ibuki to be a little tough to beat with guile but i've only lost to her once in about 7 times ive fought her. I find Juri to be much harder to beat with Guile, her and Thawk (cause hes broken seriosuly, his throw is ridiculous) I never have a problem with Sakura, but Akumas give me grief (well not all akumas just the *****e bags who do NOTHING but air fireballs and teleport when they are in a corner, they are so damn annoying, but super satisfying to beat with Guile) I really like Dudley and Cody, I think they have awesome moves and they are really fun to play as, im getting better and better with them everyday. All in all I think they made Guile a lot better, he still has some issues but hes better then in sf4 for sure

I know I may sound somewhat dumb for asking this, but what's this Vanilla a reference to?

Also, has something changed with blocking EX projectiles? I'm noticing that I seemed to get hit with regardless of blocking or not

Ok... Juri is ****ing Awesome.... I love her... she seems to be the only character I care to play as lol

In gaming, "vanilla" refers to the unmodded, unupgraded, or otherwise "basic" version of a game. In this case vanilla Street Fighter IV is the original one that came out last year.

i fight (and own) t-hawk like i do zangief. turtle. you really can't rush them down with guile, their throws have massive priority and they only need a few attacks to kill you. you simply zone with sonic booms and flask kick them/air throw them. t-hawk's dive thing is super easy to own too; either block and flash kick, or flash kick on reaction. i've had no problems with juri at all; you can rush her down pretty easily since a lot of guile's normals have priority over a lot of juri's attacks.

i hate all the shotos. their mk in the air stuffs flash kick so ridiculously.

use crouch fierce to anti-air everything. make sure you time it properly

If you trade, its okay...keep in mind your doing more damage than the other person so you win the trade

Also air throw is an option...it eats everything in the air so long as you time it well

yeah, pretty much i have to zone the match effectively so that cr fierce works; if they're a little in front of me standing fierce works too; it's just ridiculous to avoid using fk and it's a lot more work.

thanks for the info guys! I really need to start using that crouching fierce for anti air instead of relying on the flash kick which leaves you wide open if you dont connect :(

Does anyone still have the old game and wanna play for a bit?

So. Do characters have two rivals in this game?
The first time I beat it with Ryu I got Ken in a rival cutscene. The second time I beat it with Ryu on Hardest I got the standard Sagat rival+cutscene from Street Fighter IV?
Is this normal, or some sort of glitch?

there are 7 new rival cutscenes. The news ones show up on first play through, old ones on second play through. Playing the characters with additional cutscenes will give you the Rival Schooled achievement (must pass arcade mode twice)

Blargh, what is up with this Team Battle system. All the ones I've played put all the top PP players against the lower PP players. And several times I've joined and got thrown into a fight with just me versus a team. Like me against two other people

From GameFaq:

How to Fight Second Rival

Only for Ryu, Cammy, Chun-li, Seth, C.Viper, and Guile: Hold the all kick button as soon as you see "Now! Fight your Rival!" to fight against the character's second rival.

I'm guessing that 7 isn't counting the new characters, who each get a rival, as well....

Interesting. Thanks.

Anyone else have difficulty using Makoto? My biggest problem using her is that when I try to do her dash punch, I end up doing the move where she puts her fist in the air(which is useless unless your opponent is above you) because the motions to perform them are almost the same.

It took me forever to beat Fei Long with her.

I dont use Makoto, waste of a good character spot IMO she brings nothing new to the table, storyline wise and design wise, would have much rather seen Alex, Birdie, Eagle, Rolento or someone else original
