Sequels Official The Amazing Spider-Man Sequel Thread

Mysterio is the villain and plays on Spidey's fears, such as bringing up Gwen, Ben and his parents while playing on the idea of him losing MJ next and also May.

Almost like The Scarecrow from Batman? That would be cool, but would Mysterio know Spidey's identity then? Would that just turn into the ending of Batman Forever where
Riddler thinks he is the Batman when he gets locked in Arkham?

(Sorry for all the Batman references)

Would anyone like to see Green Goblin AND Dr Octopus in the next movie.

That's one way to eclipse Raimi's Spider-man 2.

That would be beyond epic.

I'd like to see Octavious introduced (perhaps his arms too) but I don't want him as a villain yet.

I would like to see the black suit alluded to or even introduced (at the end though).

Eddie, MJ, and the Bugle crew is a must as well.

Lol, yep...definitely a lot of Batman references, haha.

But, yah, I think Mysterio finding out the secret would be a pretty great idea, which would add a different element than what Scarecrow did. I definitely think there could be a link to Mysterio with Peter or MJ.

It could be, although dealing with these two villains would have to be something quite spectacular, or fail completely, as those two are not like Joker and Two-Face. A lot of development and story would have to be used with Green Goblin and Doc Ock in one film.

To be honest, I am not really into seeing Ock in the reboot series.

I don't know if Webb & Co. is thinking in terms of trilogy; with that said however, if a trilogy is in order, ending it with Mysterio is not a good idea.

What about the Sinster Six for movie 3?

Would that be considered a waste of too many potential characters?

Personally, I would start setting them(Six) up in the next film indirectly...obviously for an appearence in the 5th film or part of the second trilogy, if we are talking about trilogies.

If we are talking about trilogies, there should be a main antagonist that span or possess a huge amount of influence through out the trilogy. This is the reason why I would not end a trilogy with Mysterio, if in fact we are talking about trilogies.

BTW, the Six would not be the main antagonist for the second trilogy in my adaptation, but play a very vital role leading to it.

I'm not saying Mysterio for film number three.

Mysterio for film number four as I think the series should be four films, not three. I'm tired of the idea that films should only be a trilogy.

Sorry man, didn't see that post....Mysterio could work in film 4.

Trilogies are just so neat & perfect in tying a block of films together.

Like MD123, havig both Norman & Otto in the same film would be grand....reason why I would start indirectly, setting up members of the Six in the next film. I would not however, have both their alter-egos, Green Goblin and Doc Ock, in the same film.

I think trilogies are necessary unless you cast an actor under 23 to be Peter Parker.

Four films can work, especially since Raimi almost had four planned out, and even a fifth could've been made.

I know one thing. If this current version goes beyond 3 movies Raimi fans are going to be pissed. lmao!

I certainly hope they do back2back films, LOTR style, if that's the case. 2 & 3 lend itself perfectly for that, imo.

But I really don't want movie 2 to end with a cliffhanger.

It just cheapens the whole thing.

Who said anything about a cliffhanger? Simply do it B2B. The anticipation alone for the third film is plenty enough, if the film end intriguingly.

I think Ock was done pretty well in Spider-Man 2 so I'm not really looking for him to show up as a villain. I'd love to see him as a relatively main character as Dr. Octavius and maybe in the end of the final film (3rd, 4th, whatever it may be) we could see a shot of his tentacles and cameos for other villains (i.e. Shocker's gauntlets, the R.H.I.N.O. armor perhaps, a newspaper article showcasing the world's greatest hunter, etc.) to show that Spidey's challenges aren't ending with the films but just beginning. (yeah i know that's corny)

How about the idea of Peter mutating, foreshadowing the Man-Spider. That would be a pretty legit reason to use Kraven

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Electro

The Amazing Spider-Man 3 - Green Goblin

The Amazing Spider-Man 4 - Mysterio

That is my wish list and has been for a while now. I think 1-3 could be very Oscorp-related and once Gwen Stacy dies and so does GG, I think Oscorp could take a side step in the fourth and last film which could have a more theatrical theme with Mary Jane and focusing on her modeling career while Mysterio is the villain and plays on Spidey's fears, such as bringing up Gwen, Ben and his parents while playing on the idea of him losing MJ next and also May.

Some may feel that Mysterio would be a bad villain to end the series right, but as a villain who can bring up the past and not in a corny way, would be a GREAT way to end the series.
I completely agree with you on Mysterio's untapped potential. He would provide great character development and also provide visuals with his illusions that no other comic book villain can produce. I feel he is severely underrated.

Why not go with the Vulture. They were going to use him in Raimi's fourth anyway. Ben Kingsley as an old toomes would be great.

TASM-The Lizard, Dr. Ratha

TASM 2-The Enforcers (Electro, Vulture, Rhino. Under Tomstone.)

TASM 3-The Green Goblin, Mysterio

And if there is success and they want to keep going:

TASM 4-Venom

TASM 5-Kraven The Hunter, The Chameleon

TASM 6-The Sinister Six (Doc Ock, Electro, Vulture, Rhino, Mysterio, Kraven the Hunter)

Sorry, I know some of you don't want Venom again, but I think he needs to be redone. He's a must, like the Goblin!

I doubt they'll make 6 movies and probably just 3, but hopefully 4.

How about the idea of Peter mutating, foreshadowing the Man-Spider. That would be a pretty legit reason to use Kraven

The way Sam Raimi literally made Peter become a humanoid spider of sorts with the little hairs on his hands and organic webbing, he should've focused on him becoming a Man-Spider. At least that would've made the idea of Peter having organic webbing a little interesting.

I completely agree with you on Mysterio's untapped potential. He would provide great character development and also provide visuals with his illusions that no other comic book villain can produce. I feel he is severely underrated.

I think this new series can give us some hope with seeing Mysterio because he's one of the very few villains left that could be simply amazing in a 3D atmosphere that Webb is intending to use.

Why not go with the Vulture. They were going to use him in Raimi's fourth anyway. Ben Kingsley as an old toomes would be great.

It's a possibility in seeing Vulture, and I wouldn't really mind since I wanted to see Vulture in Spider-Man 4, although I would still prefer these villains being used: Electro, Green Goblin, Mysterio.

Bringing in Rhino would simply lose the enjoyment of what that Amazing Spider-Man game could bring.

And...saying Venom is a must as much as Green Goblin is a slap to the face to Norman Osborn.

TASM-The Lizard
TASM2-Kraven and Mysterio
TASM3-Green Goblin(brief Vulture)(black suit found)(Gwen Stacy death)
TASM4-Venom(brief Shocker, brief Chameleon)

That's the great thing about Spider-man's universe of villains, the potential is virtually endless. Sure, there are the well known baddies, such as Dr. Ock, Green Goblin, The Lizard, etc., but there are less popular villains that would work in the reboot franchise movies. I am thinking of Morbius, the living vampire, and Hammerhead (the crime boss) would be cool for instance. See, that's one thing that never made sense to me about the Superman movies. They're great movies, but rarely did any of the writers of the Superman movies ever think to stray away from Lex Luthor as the bad guy. They kind of ran that well dry. Spider-man, on the other hand, has so many great villains to prevent that from happening!

I dunno...should the franchise touch on villains like vampires, dimensional beings, and level 4 & 5 super villains? Or should it stay rooted in human villains that were created accidently or scientifically?
