^ Eh, Oliver's art has gotten better. The Cable arc hasn't been too bad, and the action scenes are kinda nice. And the girls don't look like old hags with sunken eyes anymore, either. The art's turned to less of a problem, and the writing has had to compensate for that to keep the book as bad as it's been. :woot:

On another note: I think Singer'd possibly do fine. But I don't have any huge problem with his X-Men movies. I went in knowing who the "main players" were going to be, so to speak, and how each of his two movies were meant to be this character's movie or that character's movie (read: Rogue, then Wolverine) with other characters on the periphery. Do I have problems with Cyclops having an overall under-developed role? I do. I'm a huge Cyclops fan. Do I whine and think Singer sucks and hate the movies? Naw. I'm a fan of Singer's, too.

Besides, every writer has their downfall. If you're so quick to condemn Singer for being bad at writing ensembles, I'd like to see your work and content that is better, Goddessreicho. PM me. :woot:

^Got your PM BTW, haven't forgot about ya. Just brainstorming..I'm bad with coming up w/ names quickly :)

Ultimate X-Men #79 will arrive in stores on Feb. 14 from Marvel Comics. The issue is written by Robert Kirkman, with art and cover by Yanick Paquette.

Here's how Marvel describes the book:

"'Aftermath,' part 2 of 2. After the devastating events of the previous few issues, the X-Men must deal with their loss and move forward...but is everything as it seems? And how will the X-Men's foes react to their emerging status quo? Who lives? Who leaves? And what is...the Shadow King?"

Ultimate X-Men #79 will be 32 pages and will cost $2.99.

Oooh, I kinda like that guy's art, too. I wonder how he'll be with action scenes. And look, Wolvie's hair grew again. Miracle-gro!

Shadow King? Why am I 1) Not thrilled, 2) Wishing it wasn't Kirkman doing this, 3) Not caring? I think there are a few other things in my mind, but FOR THE CHILDREN, we'll not go there.

This is gonna suck. I'll probably filp through the pages in the store, but that's that.

Why is bobby so ripped?? And why is Kitty so curvey.

Ok that's besides the point of my posting here. I just wanted to point out my outrage for the character of rogue. You know considering all of the things that make the ultimate universe diffent from the 616 universe, I was expecting more obvious changes, and I was pleasently surprised when Rogue obtained Gambits powers permanently. My thoughts were that this was going to be her thing. Not only would it be a way to continue the legacy of the fallen cajun, but it would be Rogues new power that she kept permanently. I like it. It was a different choice, but considering how much of a small time player gambit has been as of recent (especially in the ultimate franchise) I was glad to see someone putting his powers to good use.

I was waiting for the inevitable Bobby realizing that in a way he's kinda makin it with the cajun. I was waiting for their conversation of awkwardness and him looking at her differntly and treating her differently. I was looking forward to a change in Rogues character. Maybe the writers would take her in a different direction and actually breathe some life her, because the whole I can't touch you without killing you thing was starting to wear thing. Couple that with her poor pitiful me routine, and it was just plain annoying.

Then Gambits powers started to fade. Damn that was stupid. They start to take the character in a differnt and interesting direction and they just couldnt' take it. Now I'm aware that many writers want to write the character's their own way, but when there' sno collaboration, you tend to get these arcs that seem to be from their own "What if" section of the Universe. Why couldn't they have let her explored it a bit more instead of spending all that time with Magician. They was a world of things they could have done with rogue. She could have started to experience side effects of her powers. She could have developed a split personality, overly destructive and out of control powers, a connection to the spirit world through gambits soul, she could have started to shift between man and woman, ala Ranma 1/2 I don't know but something knew. Why are these writers so scared to mess with the staples, I thought this is what the Ultimate universe was about. Good writers I mean, not idiots who make magnoctopus.

Well that's my rant.

after seeing that preview did anyone else get the feeling that fury is going to bring the team back together and lead them in secret?

Yeah, can't say I'm at the edge of my seat either. But like somebody said earlier; Bobby and Kitty do not look like kids anymore....especially Kitty.......BAD Spoons! :O

That....would....be.....awesome. Though it'd lose the "school aspect" of the team.

Spoons, what did Emma's school and children ever do to warrent Kirkman attention?

Think about what you say before you say it! The Sword of Omens should spank you. BAD SPOONS.

Yeeeeaaaah, he would make me hate every last one of them cuz he'd write 'em horribly. I retract my statement :(

yeah she looks way to curvy for fifteen
Yeah and Iceman looks a bit too chubby in the panel when he enters the room. I can't wait to see how Shadow King is written and drawn.

lol do you think paquette had a movie casting choice for fury- that is so sam l jackson. i loved the bobby and rogue bits- the untouchables poster is a nice touch
