Well, Ultimate Nightcrawler was part of the Weapon X program which makes him a little more rough around the edges than 616 Nightcrawler. He's been going through some bad times, emotionally, because Colossus, whom Nightcrawler was good friends with, revealed to Nightcrawler that he is gay. Anyway, Nightcrawler was kind of at a loss and he found solace in Dazzler, who was lying in the hospital in a coma.
In the Annual, we find out that he kidnapped her from her hospital bed and took her to some cave with no exit, and lied to her about it. He wanted to force her to spend time with him so that she might fall in love with him. Then he got caught, and the entire team fought him and Rogue finally subdued him by touching him, which is why you get to the end where she says that she was in his head.
It goes a bit beyond that... I think it's supposed to extend into his perceptions of good and evil and whatnot, from his Weapon X days. Mind you, Ultimate Rogue was Weapon X too, so her calling him a monster is saying a lot.
Just finished reading the annual, for a change I actually liked Larroca's art. Except for the little thing telling how the Magician arc ended (thanks for that Marvel) I found it to be pretty good.
Well I FINALLY read the annual, and I actually rather liked it. I guess I'm one of the few that felt bad for Nightcrawler (althought the last scene with Rogue does make it a bit harder). I wished the 616 Xmen kicked as much butt as the ultimate version, the 616 Xmen tend to be on the bad side of butt whoopings these days.

Yeah, the Uncanny team is kicking but as of right now (especially Rachel and Warpath), the Adjectivless team is up in the air IMO, other than Rogue and Cable they've been getting their butts kicked, and I don't even think I have to explain what going on in Astonishing. lol
No, Astonishing is still really good (althoght the delays/gap between issues do take away from the overall enjoyment) but that team always seems to be getting their butts kicked, they've yet to just cleanly beat the crap out of someone.
**EDIT**
They did kinda beat down Ord the second time they came across him.

Xavier says something like 'do you regret what you done' and the whole conversation pretty much says Wolvie did something pretty bad, imaginably killing the guy.
