Ok thanks, I'll download since Kirkman then... hope it's good

You'll probably have to grit your teeth some and bear down to make it to the Cable arc. Unless you love Marty Stus, of course. :woot:

I didn't like the Cable arc (hated it, actually) but it wasn't nearly as bad as Magical. Luckily, the latest arc is finally showing some promise.

I thought it was pretty awful. Or, at least extremely disappointing.

 I actually enjoyed the Magical arc. Great mystery, great action, great plot  What was wrong with it?

I got it TPB so I don't think mine came with the letter :csad: Mabe I a should check though...

But seriously, you didn't think the plot was good at all?

Nope, not even a little bit.

I can understand that Kirkman wanted to try something different, but it came across as confusing and just messy. I finally get a little bit excited with the cliffhanger when I think it's going to become a Magician/Phoenix finale, but there's no delivery. Once again it's up to the almighty Wolverine to save the day. Apparently the Hellfire Club should have been worshipping this teenager instead of some eons-old firebird. :whatever:

I get what your saying, but I actually liked the cliffhanger. It was confusing at first, but I read over it and now I understand it better. Bt I agree, their should have at least been a follow-up to it (the Magician/Phoenix example).

I have high hopes for the next arc- but if scott jean rogue and iceman are out for the forseeable future i will not be impressed.

Yeah I still sort of wanted Iceman and Kitty on the team. I think it's obvious that Iceman won't be on the new team though :csad:

Maybe they'll still have their story going on, just not as X-Men.

They'd better. This is the perfect moment for Cyke to shine, and I really don't want him to get shoved into the background again. And I swear if they don't hurry up and resolve the Jean issue (and I don't want to wait for Issue 100 if that's their plan) I'm giving up on them. Ultimate Jean has become even more embarassing than 616 Jean, which I honestly didn't think could happen. :csad:

No clue when Kitty will be back. Last I saw she got her butt kicked by Ultimate Ronin. :whatever: Someone get her some ninja training, stat! :woot:

Id rather Kirkman leave the phoenix stuff alone as far as Jean goes bc he's made an absolute mess of it. I dont think the Phoenix ever worked in the Ultimate verse even going back to when Millar was writing

We don't even necessarily know it's the 'Phoenix', it could just be crazy Jean. I want to know what is up with those goblins. Is she supposed to be the Ultimate Goblin Queen, too? It's frustrating that they're letting this drag on. She's better, she's worse, she's better...it gets tiresome after awhile. Either fix her or do something different with the character. Personally, I'd just like to see ONE universe where Scott/Jean work out.

the whole story is about the Phoenix. Whether they go and say theres no actual Phoenix involved or not, the concept is still at the root of the plot. Its a mess and Id rather it just be dropped bc Kirkman clearly doesnt know what he's doing here

Well Jean and Scott worked for nearly 30 years in 616 until New X-men. They seem to be doing fine here so far

Obviously it's a mess. Right now I'm thinking it would have been better to let things be after the first Phoenix arc, if not to never mention the dang bird in the first place.

And I don't know that Jean and Scott are doing all that well, to be honest. You've got Jean sleeping with Wolverine :whatever: and still pining for him for much of the series. Now it turns out Xavier is in love with her, and it's unclear just what her feelings for him are. And there's no indication how this whole Phoenix/Goblin mess will turn out. Will they both survive? Is Jean going to turn evil on us? Is she going to take to a life roaming the stars? Is there any point speculating at this point in time? :oldrazz:

Jean slept with Wolverine in the first arc. That was ages ago. Xavier admited he had feelings for Jean. She feels nothing for him like that. Scott and Jean are together adn in love. They are as solid now as they ever were. Until Kirkman revisits teh phoenix stuff, if he does, then its a non issue for the moment. I guess Im looking at things differenl than you bc I dont see their relationship in jeopardy or on the rocks
