ditto. i really hope the Valkyrie powers stick. that was an awesome New Mutants moment. and then Iceman vs. Mimic and the New X-Men dogpile him. im a little confused how they took down Daken. did he run into Armor's shield?

Yeah, it looked like Daken smacked into Armor's armor. He then proceeded to get his ass sliced, pummeled, and hexed (and if Pixie remembered her mutant power, tripped) into next week. It was awesome, though I would've preferred X-23 taking him on alone.

Yeah I would have loved to have seen them fight one on one, there really hasn't been a direct outright confrontation between the pair. I'd love to see it.

well unless theres something in Wolverine/ Origins that put bad blood between the two im unaware of, theres really no reason for them to hunt each other down. Daken hates Logan. Laura attacking Daken was just an order. of course maybe this will bruise his ego and spark a rivalry in the future.

I got confused at first of who that was. I thought it was Karma bc the pink glow looked like a psychic effect and I thought she had slammed him down. I saw Karma earlier with a yellow headband so it couldnt have been her. The short hair threw me off bc Armor always is drawn with long hair. I wanted Laura to fight Daken alone as well but the 3 girls taking him on was pretty cool so I didnt mind it.

i dunno. if i want nothing to do with my father im not gonna care about his new step-daughter. but if i hate his guts, i guess i might wanna hurt him by hurting her. or course you can only hurt them so much- healing factor and all.

i would think its a matter of honor for Daken- Logan sullied an honorable japanese woman's name by "forcing himself on her", and he's the upper-class/ stuck-up type. Logan tried helping see the error in his ways but finally got tired of him and his b.s.

course this is all speculation from only reading Original Sin.

It seems like that the soundtrack for Dani Moonstar's arrival here should be Wagner's “Flight of the Valkyries.”

Exactly. This was one of those story points by need of strategy. I was asking myself, “How do you beat Ares?” Then it was like, “We've got a Valkyrie on our side!” Only now after getting her powers directly from Hela she's like a Valkyrie plus.


This scene is very much a cue up for Zeb Wells' “New Mutants.” Dani Moonstar is a part of that cast. So read “New Mutants!” Zeb is going to take Dani to some great places and who didn't want to see her back on that winged horse?

So... is Emma now stuck in her diamond form?

Emma Frost arrives in the White Room mindscape that she built in an early “New Avengers” storyline in order to help the Sentry with his psychological problems. Why did Terry Dodson end up drawing this scene instead of Mike Deodato?

I suspected that Terry would be drawing this stuff. As you mentioned, the White Room first showed up in a Sentry story from early on in Brian's [Bendis] “New Avengers” run. That story is one of my favorite arcs from that book. I love the metaphor that [“New Avengers” artist] Steve McNiven created to represent everything.


We've already played with some of the stuff in this scene too. If you go back and reread the “Cabal” special, the dialogue from the weird prescient dream that Emma Frost has? That's Bob's dialogue. So we knew this was coming for a long time. You don't need to have read all those different books, but if you have, their fresh in your head. It all links together. This representation, this metaphor of Bob's situation is something we've been coming to for a long time.


What exactly happens with the Sentry and the Void in this scene?

Scott and Emma knew they couldn't beat the Sentry, so they had to distract the Void and for a split second Emma does just that. She keeps it within herself long enough for Bob Reynolds to snap to, realize what's happening, and flee. All they needed to do was to buy that half-a-second for the Sentry to take off and he flies into space as fast as he can. He realizes the best thing he can do is get off the battlefield. He goes off at the speed of light and the Void rushes after him to reconnect so they can be whole again.

Doing that has left a sliver of the Void in Emma's psyche. She's got this weird, twisted dagger of darkness incarnate in her brain. So she has to stay trapped in diamond form, which cuts her off from her psychic powers. If she were to go flesh and blood the Void would have access to the abilities of an Omega level telepath. So she's basically the carrier for a disease. That was the price she paid.

They would seem more like a better fit. Collectively they are stronger and have been working. Besides Psylocke's powers are still in a bit of a flux. According to Fraction, she doesnt have full TP but only traces of it. He's only had her use her TP to alter perceptions and she hasnt even done simple communcation with it

im sure it was the intended reaction, but when Norman gave his speech about "we won" to the press right after (or the same time) Cyclops's, i wanted to climb into the panel and punch his teeth in.

I wish Norman would put Mystique in front of a camera again, now that the real Charles Xavier is free. I can already see a wheelchair-bound Xavier trying to give a speech, keeling over half-way through a sentence, and then turning back into Mystique just before news cameras shift their attention to the real Xavier, standing proudly with the real Beast and Archangel at his sides.

the same one that had her not jsut beat Xavier but humiliate and destroy him on the astral plane in X-men Legacy. She was referred to as an omega telepath in a book not too long agoand this is the response I brought up to explain it.

Notice the term "omega class telepath" was used and NOT "omega mutant". I took the first to refer to telepaths of the highest order. Xavier has always been described as the most powerful telepath except when Jean has full access to her Phoenix powers. Emma has gotten a power upgrade since joining the X-men and she's been pretty impressive with those abilities as well so I think its a fair assessment to place her as one of the world's most powerful TPs. In this case, the term omega class telepath would apply to her. Not to be confused with an omega mutant which usually refers to the most powerful mutants out there with unlimited potential and most often manipulate matter on a molecular level and can live beyond their physical form. Jean would fall under that, whereas Charles and Emma wouldnt

And to think, Emma once got brain-stomped by a non-Phoenix version of Jean Grey.

Then again, there was a time when Wolverine could potentially die, Iceman merely covered himself in ice, Rogue couldn't touch people, and Xavier couldn't walk.

With what happened with Emma and Namor, Osborn really should re-think about recruiting Mystique into his so-called 'team', she could be planning the same conspiracy Emma did for...say, Magneto, or just for her own amusement.
