Official Wolverine And The X-men, Episode 13, "Battle Lines" Discussion Thread

w00t w00t!

i can't wait!

and even if the next time we get another new episode is in like 3 months time, at least we got the 'end of act 1' today!

What?!?!?

Yes!!!!

What?!?!?
Yes!!!!

It is good news... I told people months ago not to believe Wikipedia... that site was saying Lorna would be a member of the X-Men in WATXM as early as two months ago. Hell, I could make a list of things Wiki has gotten wrong so far just for WATXM.

Series reaches it's halfway point finally.

YTV really should've just put out this one before the holiday break.

jmc, you were right. Wikipedia was reporting BS rumors that only Teletoon was going to air the series.

I only caught the tail end of it. :cmad::cmad: I thought it would start at 12 noon (which has always been the air time) instead it was on at 11:30 :whatever:

YTV has changed the broadcast time. It's now on 11:30 in Canada when it used to air in prime time.

Hmm looks like it's taking awhile to get online...normally when it broadcasts primetime, it's usually out within 3 or 4 hours. Perhaps none of the cappers really knew it was airing.

actually it is online now i just downloaded from bittorrents, i am about to watch it yay:hehe:

so what was the episode about?

Was this really re-newed for a 2nd season? By the time all 26 episodes air in the US it will be what?? Almost the fall??

PoSeiDon, 26 episodes for season 2 were ordered and are currently in pre-production. Liam O'Brien who plays Angel and Nightcrawler said all the VA's are set to return.

I imagine by the time season 1 finishes in the US, season 2 will be in production, and I'm hoping we will see it on in late 2009 or early 2010.

Finally watched the episode:

Whew, excellent stuff. Heck of a midseason finale. Big time. I love how organized Magneto was. Take out the X-men. Take out the MRD. Send in Juggernaut to get Tildie out to wreak massive havoc. Vintage Magneto.

Tension between Wolverine and Rogue was great. Interesting curveball that Rogue was playing a ruse on the Brotherhood all along to find out what they were up to. So all that residual anger wasn't directed at the X-men. It was directed at Logan . . . who she desperately wants to jump.

More of Kitty and Bobby making cow eyes, and poor Bobby failing at asking her out. Don't worry Bobby, you'll figure it out.

I'm sure Dread is going to love how Wolverine is in rallying the troops mode while Cyclops is lounging in the living room not paying mind to Rogue's info.

A ton of great cameos in this episode. Besides Juggernaut we also got BLINK!

Climax was very well done especially with Rogue's technique which proves that Rogue is a smart, cunning fighter even without the flying or Ms. Marvel powers. Rogue redeeming herself in this episode was totally awesome.

I was happy that the X-men had to deal with things without Xavier's advice, and how by the end pretty much everything they are trying to avoid looks to be happening. Wolverine feels like a failure and Xavier just says well you got the school and the students back and you saved a life so its all OK. I think that's the hope that's important about these characters. Wolverine despite what he's been through is someone that still believes in hope even if it's a fool's hope.

I like the character they've made Domino into. Domino isn't a wicked person, she's just taken what she believes to be the winning side. It's wrong that she'd be willing to wipe out humanity, but she feels as if mutantkind has been backed into a corner and has no choice. Domino isn't evil for believing in Magneto's cause, she just thinks it's the only way.

Sentinels are coming! Woo baby!

BLLLLLIIIIIIIIINNNNKKK!!!!!!

Too bad she didn't do anything badass - tho she looked badass - here's hoping we see her in the future.

I kept waiting for Blink to jump Mimic . . . or Sabretooth . . . or Morph . . . or maybe its all of them. She's like hooked up with everyone in that book right?

Someone should write a "Rogue jumps Wolverine" fanfic.

Tildie I think was a mutant from the Whedon Astonishing X-men run and I think basically her head created like some evil monsters and stuff. I think Dr. Rhao was using her as a test subject or something similar to her appearance in this episode.

Someone else could probably do better at the history though.

Yeah, but her comic story was a lot darker. She accidentally killed her parents (and some cops) with a smaller version of the creature the X-Men fought in the episode. And Dr. Rao was not so much using her as a test subject, but as proof as to why mutation should be cured.

Did anyone else think it was a missed opporunity when
Emma got her nose broken not to give her infamous "I am VERY CROSS" line?

Good point Max, would've been a good place to put it.

However, all the bad guys were kind of unconscious there, so it would've been better if she got really mad and just laid the smack down.
