THEY WERE NOT REAL BABIES SHE CONJURED THEM UP WITH MAGIC! SHE BELIEVED THEY WERE REAL!
Indeed. And it drove her crazy. In the 90's. She had moved on and showed no signs of relapse for at least a decade, maybe more, until 2004 came along and Bendis needed a
dues ex machina. So Wanda is back to being crazy and suddenly it was like she was freaking out every other arc.
It happened. Scarlet Witch was in it. She was a member of the Avengers team. So besides the 90's X-men series, she also appeared as a "hero" in the Avengers cartoon. So really in only one other cartoon she's been in besides this one has she been a villain/heavy character.
By that logic, we should never see the High Evolutionary as a villain again, because he showed up in SPIDER-MAN UNLIMITED barely 9 years ago (he was, in fact, the "main" enemy of that series in a way). And it is also great that Silver Surfer and Galactus never showed up in the last FF cartoon, because Surfer already got a prior series in '99, so it would have been boring, too.
I was just bemused about how Pietro and Scarlet Witch weren't part of the Brotherhood in over 40 years, really, but in the last two cartoon incarnations, they have been. As if it was natural.
Steven Blum:
1) not a movie star for crappy movies like Batman and Robin.
2) rarely says anything like this for anything he's working on. That's why it is not to be taken lightly. Considering he's been openly honest about how little he cares about some of the shows he's worked/working on. That's why its not like the garbage Clooney or other movie stars saying OH THIS IS THE BEST EVER! When Blum says things like this, he is trustworthy and can be taken seriously.
3) Blum is also a writer himself. He writes for one of the most popular cartoons and best stories in the world.
I'm not a Blum chaser. Does he really have a blog or something where he rails against some of the shows he was paid to act for, but he doesn't think were that hot? I'm asking honestly.
Umm none of that has anything to do with Steven Blum.
I was noting the market reality that most actors or writers or producers during the "buzz" phase of marketing a product will rarely say anything that isn't positive. When they do, it is taboo. Heck, Edward Norton is "snubbing" promoting INCREDIBLE HULK over issues with editing and that is a big deal.
Knowing this reality, and without a prior knowledge of Blum's interview patterns, him thinking W&TXM is among the best things he's been on isn't too unusual a statement. That was my point.
I think you are. And you will be proven wrong. You shouldn't have to gush now. But you are stacking the deck.
If it is good, I will gush like mad. You need only read my reviews for SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN, a show I was hardly expecting to be as good as it is, to see that I can gush. I had a slight rep for fangasming over 2k3's TMNT.
The trailers so far are better than I expected. Still, they are coming off the movie trilogy that made no secrets about believing that Wolverine was the be-all and end all of the franchise, and without him, it isn't worth having the X-Men. I disagree about this opinion, and I was a former Wolverine fanatic. Hell, ten years ago and I'd have fully debated about why he should beat the Hulk.
Xavier's death was questionable since it was never stated outright in the LEAKED unofficial promo trailer that he was dead. Plus he appeared in a promo proster wearing bionic leg bracers. Most people could've guessed that it wouldn't be it for Xavier. The dude's been killed a million times already anyway. Jean's died a dozen times or something.
It could have been possible that promo art back then didn't reflect changes since. After all, promo art for TEEN TITANS and LEGION OF SUPERHEROES, even X-MEN EVOLUTION changed a few times with characters coming and going before the finished product debuted.
Yeah, Xavier and Jean die a few times a year it seems, and the question I have is, "should I be excited to see stuff in a cartoon that I am tired of in the comics"?
I'm willing to make a sig bet over this Dread. How about it?
Are you serious? That's ridiculously juvenile, even for a message board.
I just love the look Storm is shooting Emma....
thought bubble- *I don't know why she thinks she's Jean Grey, cause she's no Jean Grey, and white lipstick, really?*
I hadn't noticed that, that is amusing.
Here are a few random screencaps I took from the trailer.
Now, one of the things about Evolution that I have heard no end of criticism about is Steven E. Gordon's design for Juggernaut; many people felt it was "too skinny". I thought he was large enough compared to the other characters (and admittedly, the animation for his appearance in Season 3 was better than it was for Season 1). But I am curious about thoughts on this design. I think Juggy looks large enough, but in an attempt to merge the comics and movie designs, the costume is a little too "busy" and detailed. But it ain't bad.
I won't argue about proportion because, well, that'd be hypocritical considering my liking of SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN, Cheeks Galloway designs and all.
