Animation Official Wolverine And The X-men, "Hindsight 1-3" Discussion Thread

Im not a big fan of that show. It just seems like a watered down version of some comic stories. But I do have to give it props for making X-men popular. Its what got me interested in X-men and I used to love it but when I watch it now I dont like it that much.

I just watch part 2 even tho its in Spanish, the B.O.E kicks so much a$$ in this cartoon they make the X-M Evo look really look like amteurs!!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Magneto totally owns the X-Men in epi. 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's Like TAS n Evo combined!!!!

U guys remember the 1st promo pic when we see Prof. X wearing some kind leg brace?? Well it seems that in the future he is wearing the leg braces and all the X-Men are dead except for him, so it seems that whoever "kidnapped" Charles or has him comatose is preventing him from doing watever he is gonna do in the future...

I think the 3 episode was really great, the first team we could say, no?

great Emma/Scott momment.

Where are the Spanish episodes? I've seen the first in english but I want to see more. I'm totally hooked. I found episodes in what i think is Portuguese but I don't speak that....

i didn't care much for the very first ep, probably because it should be counted as a collective with the other two...

it seemed just like a really long filler ep to get the ball rolling...

I would have rather seen the team fall apart in the first half and wolverine waking up with no memory of it all in a cell breaking out.

I guess they wanted to set the public opinion of mutants in this one.

One thing i still don't like about it is that it seems soft, still looks like they don't have punching to the face in this cartoon clearly seen. meh

The main problem with Wolverine as a character (and why I dislike him in TAS, EVO, and possibly here) is that the interesting aspects of him in combat always deal with his claws, but in a cartoon for general audiences, they can't show Wolverine physically cut any human or mutant...only structures, robots, etc. It's quite annoying.

After viewing the first episode though, I do have to say this is probably my favorite incarnation (is that even the right word?) of Wolverine out of everything except for his Grant Morrison and Joss Whedon versions. I like this version better than the other cartoons and the movies, at least I think I do, it is a bit too early to tell.

I felt the first episode did a good job, though I wanted a lot more, I wish the first 3 episodes had all aired together. Oh well. I did wish for a LITTLE more of the "year later" to be fleshed out - the idea of the MRD (which they didn't even fully name until the end of the episode), the sense of what happened to everyone, etc.

All good points usagicassidy.

Hulk VS. Wolverine is an animation where Wolverine does cut people and stab people. Thing is since this was aimed at a more 6-14 demographic from the start, they couldn't really do as much. But yeah, I agree its an issue. What the hell is a guy going to do with things like that? He's going to cut and stabbity people!

I loved the tension b'tween Emma, Logan when she came to the mansion...even tho it was in Spanish Logan did mention something to Bobby/Kitty that Emma had did something to Jean and he was skeptical to why she came to the mansion...

no, Logan didn't named Jean, he just don't like Emma and don't trust her at all, he knows she wants something more, but still don't know what.

That interaction was really great, I'd love to see it in X4, with Logan and Charlize Theron, :woot:

Do you imagine it? :wow:

It would be perfect.... but no, we all know Charlize won't be Emma and Hugh maybe don't appear in X4 :csad:

You know, i wish they'd not focus on wolverine as a clawed being all the time.

In the same way they stripped rogue down to just her absorbing powers in evolution and made her work, I wish they would shave wolverine down to a hard hitting brute with claws who only seldom used them.

the fact he's got adamantium skeleton and a healing factor should be enough for plenty of unique fighting qualities, not to mention how a rapid healing factor could ultimately mean rapid increases of strength over a short duration (with the way muscles are made).

could easily watch a series on wolverine with him rarely popping his claws.

one thing i also hate is that he's seen as a mutant for having metal claws when the are artificially placed :o

Well, in the comics he had bone claws but they were laced with adamantium. In the movies the claws were given to him (although thats apparently being retconned in Origins).

And his claws are his trademark. They wouldnt do a fight scene without them. Although they could since I bet metal bones hurt like hell and a punch would be enough to knock someone out.

Yeah I cant find any of the spanish ones, which i wouldnt mind watching. So if anyone has that link, feel free to share :D

Streaming videos unless they are officially uploaded are still kind of iffy.

My hope at least is that Nicktoons will have the foresight to hype a big premiere of the pilot, and show the three parts together as a big event.

I think that's really the best way to do the show. Look how the specials worked out for Avatar.

That's the problem with wolverine, he's been reduced to someone who pops his claws all the time but can't really use them.

keeping out of general fighting keeps him away from his brawling or martial arts fighting roots, he should only pop them to deal with weaponary or bladed weapons/claws

the rest of the time he should be brawling and simply knocking people out.

they should spend more time focusing on his healing factor rather than his claws.

notice how in the first x-men film the first reveal of the character had no showing of the claws what so ever and rather highlighted his adamantium skeleton by him beating the crap out of people. it also highlighted his healing factor as you saw his back heal from bruises.

I like the show. I hate the fact that humans are able to lift a man who's bones are laced with indestructible metal.

episode one in english is at megavideo

The foreign accents weren't done well, the story was boring and I was uninterested when it was only Logan in the story. I felt beast could have been funnier.
