Claremont was elbow-deep in the X-Men back then. I wonder how many old little threads he was weaving through the books that he's finally going to pick up and tie together.

Yeah, but still. Remy LeBeau=Gambit for me, so it's kinda weird to think of him with a different name.

Maybe it was just a little way of CC reminding us that this is his playground.

Speaking of which--another plus:
Logan is no longer "Jimmy Howlett," the bastard son of a gardener born in the late 1800s. This is back when he could have been ageless.

Wow. I hope CC doesn't let this freedom of his go to waste.

Exactly. These are the days that I first became hooked in. It seems that every time I pick up a comic book these days I find myself cringing and wincing at what they've done to my favorite characters.

This is back in the day when most of them were at their strongest point. I'm very close to giddy at the thought of the possibilities.

yes Claremont is known for his character development. Look at how the Xmen changed under his pen...Storm went from the weakest member and became one of their top leaders...Wolverine went from killer psycho dude into a failed samurai....Kitty Pryde grew into a strong character...even Magneto grew into Michael Xavier who saw the light. If it wasnt for the X-editors wanting him to be a villain again he would still be on the good side.

Like the one who had a husband and kissed a wolf-man who wasn't her man at the same time, that rings a bell?

You mean his obsession with making female characters laughably superior in EVERY WAY. Not to mention creating supersized ego of those so-called fans of these characters as by-products.

yes Claremont is known for his character development. Look at how the Xmen changed under his pen.. . Storm went from the weakest member and became one of their top leaders

Besides, she initiated a kiss with him as well when she was still married, if you aren't being perfect, but expect your partner to be. It's called equality.
Oh I didn't say it was worse, but it's no better. And it's not against any law to make out with someone on your dead wife's grave, nor is moving on with your life.

That's why having a dead partner who won't stay dead is worse than having a dead one, it totally ruins the natural cycle of mourning and moving on. After the second time, do you really expect Scott to feel all devastated because of her so-called "death"?

At least Emma makes him happy, and she is not kissing some other guy behind his back, that's good enough for me.

Do remember he chose Emma for a reason entirely different from he did Madelyne.
He chose Madelyne cause he thought she was Jean, he did Emma cause she is completely different from her.

And I don't think Emma is the best choice for him, personally I would prefer him stay single for a while (he never really has time for himself), but thrusting him and Jean back together at this moment is also unwise, there's a possibility for them to become something more again, if and when they get past the stage of being friends and getting to know each other, they've drifted apart over the years.

well in CC's mind multiple X-men titles dilute the franchise. So I imagine that in this new world there is just the Xmen and maybe the New Mutants
