Okay seriously...what the hell happened to you 'Cartoon Network' ?

Why? Because they played Spider-Man once, and play maybe an hour of Goosebumps? You guys are really blowing this out of proportion here. There is no possible way you can realistically and factually compare MTV with Cartoon Network.
Obviously Cartoon Network is nowhere near as bad as MTV but none the less its starting to sway from what its original intentions are. Its call "Cartoon Network" not "Cartoon show an occasional Live action flick network"

Again, it's taking the name of a channel way too literally. Just because they played one god damn movie one day and play an hour of a live action tv show. Jesus, 23 hours of the day don't mean ****, it's the one hour they play something different you people get crazy for.:whatever:

It may be only 1 hour a day now, but I can bet you that it will get much worse.

Besides if I wanted to watch Batman 89, I would expect to watch it on a movie channel not a channel devoted to cartoons.

Yea but that's how MTV started going downhill. We are just worried CN will start doing the same thing.

I don't know, it really depends on the ratings. They would be stupid not to keep live action if it's helping keep the channel alive. Even if it does mean only have maybe 20 hours of cartoon a day.

The sad part is it will get worst but it the way for a network to "staying alive" so to speak. Cartoon network was a brain child to show old cartoon from HB to Ruby Spears studios but after a while they need new life blood so What A Cartoon came about. New show pushed the old ones to a new network Boomarang still everything was good we got Johnny Bravo and the mega hit PowerPuff Girls. Toonami also a great show in the afternoon showing Thundercats and Voltron soon became the anime branch not to shabby, but then it became a Saturday night thing showing Nurato,JLU. Voltron got pushed to Boomarang still CN was still showing cartoon, but as higher up at CN said that its losing viewship so it had to place live action movies to bring in more viewers...dont know if its working or not but for CN to "stay alive" it has to do whatever cuz Boomarang with its huge catalog is basically the Yogi-Jetsons-Flintstones-Scooby-Top Cat-Quest network god knows how many times I have seen every ep:o

I agree. they've really jumped shark in order to get more ratings.

Personally...i'd like to see them make deals with DC and Marvel and do a lot of superhero shows. Those seem to do really well.

I don't know why, but DirecTv now added another CN channel on the guide, at least, I have another one. I saw them playing FrankenThumb the other day. I was like ....."Wtf?"

Cartoon Network is on air fo only 17 hrs aday.

The other 7 is Adult Swim.

I don't mind live action stuff as long as it's based on a cartoon or comic. I mean with all the SFX shots half of these movies could be considered cartoons anyway. At least it's properties with roots in their core programming unlike the endless reality crap on MTV or Catwoman being on American Movie Classics, now that's totally false advertising.

point taken, point well taken

Not that I watch the cartoon network, but your disatisfaction may have something to do with the fact that you're older now.

I remember, for myself, the greatest era in cartoons was the eighties. I thought it went downhill in the nineties, but many here praise the cartoons of the nineties, as if they think it was the greatest era in cartoons.

Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends
Chowder
Flapjack
Naruto

CN still has some good **** going for them.

We seem to have very different definitions of what "good" is. :o

I like Chowder and Flapjack but Naruto has become a chore to watch. My main problem with CN (at the moment) is that they moved Code Geass to the graveyard slot. I know there's AS Video on the internet but Geass deserves better than that.

It should also be mentioned that Cartoon Network showed "Batman and Robin" last week.

Cartoon Network has also been showing the Michael Keaton Jack Frost movie.

I mostly only watch Pokemon & Ben 10 on the channel & then the occasional cartoon or live action superhero movie they show. I used to watch "Out Of Jimmy's Head" loved the green alien girl on that show but then they cancelled it & took it off completely.:(

I'm looking forward to watching the new Avengers & Iron Man cartoons they will be showing in the coming years on cartoon network.
