Apocalypse Olivia Munn IS Psylocke! - Part 1

I wanted some more Psylocke, but they're probably keeping the lid on her for a while which is fine. Don't wanna show too much in just the first trailer.

i hope she has an accent. Take Scarlet Witch, for example, I know a lot of fans didn't like her, but I think she stands out in Avengers 2; i couldn't tell if it was bad, but, as an English-speaker, it felt nice to hear something different in Hollywood for a change.

I feel X-Men's missing that mix of accents and languages. (Mystiques hoarse sound, the accents of Storm, Remy, Rogue, Colossus, Nightcrawler, etc., etc.)

They use two kinds of accents in these films. British and "Southern" weirdly. I mean Gambit will apparently have a Cajun accent in his film, and Colossus will have a Russian one (finally) in the Deadpool film.

But yeah, this franchise has had a problem with "Americanizing" characters in the past.

Loved the Scarlet Witch character in AOU, detested the accent. Too thick, and it was just overall blah to me.

That was weird as she is surprisingly my most anticipated horseman I'm really disappointing. Maybe they really wanted to show her in all her glory when the FX were completely finished?

Hmm maybe the FX was an issue... but we got those videogamey shots from the other three horsemen..

I just hope she has a decent-sized role in the film.

Angel didn't get much screentime either, nor Nightcrawler, nor Cyclops even. It's a first trailer, they cannot use everyone equally right away (and people would then be complaining about the "spoiling too much").

Oh and I quite liked SW's accent in AOU btw.

Angel got a power display and a face shot and you can see his face clearly when Magneto grabs Xavier's wheelchair. While Cyclops even had a line.

Psylocke only had 1 shot, then a blurry shot in the subbasement, as a big Psylocke fan, that was kinda disappointing especially when the other 3 horsemen showcased their power.

Wow I've never seen that trailer before. This sets the perfect tone for the movie, as opposed to the 3rd trailer which I've seen played way more often.

Psylocke won't be made the most important horseman, esp since the other 3 are archangel,storm and magneto

as for a small trailer just for the horsman? maybe but most doubtful, perhaps some marketing spots

Second comic book character Olivia Munn is playing, and it's another Marvel one. A relatively significant one. I hope she can pull it off.

Her first was a newscaster character in the comics called Chess Roberts in Iron Man 2.

I have a feeling, with the size of the ensemble, she'll be relegated to being a power-character. As in to say she won't get much characterization. Maybe not as bad as X3's wastefulness of Psylocke, but yea, just a fighter, nothing more. I'd be shocked if they went into her backstory of jumping bodies into a ninja lady.

I think we'll see a bit of development. All Horsemen probably have their own reason for joining (and hopefully leaving) Apocalypse. They also have Angel. But what we won't see is her trans-racial change, which I find wasteful, although no one else does.

There are just too many characters, you can't delve into everyone's backstory, but I expect her not to be a mute at least.

That is very true. Like Havok in FC who we do not hear say a word when he's recruited.

Just a team member without too much focus and some cool scenes will be fine for me for now (as a big Psylocke fan). As long as she lives to ...fight another day I'm happy just to get what we look likely to be getting and can wait my turn to get a Nightcrawler-X2 style opportunity.
