Comics OMD/Clone Saga/Joey Q. discussion.

I think comic books are starting to gain an adult appeal. If you observe programs such as Attack of the Show, they have a segment devoted to comic books. More and more mainstream adult magazine publications are starting to shine the spotlight on comic books, such as Entertainment Weekly and even major news paper publications. Even the video game community is starting to get behind comic books. IGN frequently posts reviews and Gameinformer usually posts up big comic releases (though DC more often than Marvel...fan bias) on their events calander in some of their issues. Between the success of the movies and these other publications...comic books are slowly losing the for kids/for geeks image.

Exactly. All that stuff is GREAT for the industry. Which is why you don't want to make any decisions that's based around appealing more to kids.

Which is exactly why I say we'll be seeing more adult themed storyline releases in the future.

There are MANY great spider-man arcs that cannot be shown in movie or cartoon format because he's such a current fan favorite for kids.
I can think of 3 awesome stories that most likely won't make it on screen.

The death of Gwen Stacy
Kraven's Last Hunt
The Death of jean dewolffe

I think eventually Marvel will try to do what DC is doing with there animated movies. and all of them have been pretty sucessful. :cwink:
