X-Men Forever is Chris Claremont pickin' up his run on adjectiveless as it would have gone had he not been forced off the X-Books.

And Ben certainly DID have a supportin' cast. Jessica Carradine. Desiree Winthrop. Buzz. Shirley Washington. Devon Lewis. Tilde his landlady. Seward Trainer. Eventually Peter and MJ. And the original supporting cast had prominence as well. Not like the Spidey of most of the 2000s, where it was just Peter, MJ, Aunt May and the Avengers.

Paul Jenkins did have a supporting cast for Spider-man. Like that New Zealand neighbor that became a one time sidekick of Spider-man that we never saw again.

I wish Ben Reilly had never been a clone but someone who was given Peter Parker's powers.

Unlike Venom, he was a unique character from Peter.

Marvel obviously didnt want Peter to divorce MJ, so they figured Ben would be a good way to bring some of the classic spidey dynamic.. too bad it blew up in their collective faces.
