Comics OMD: Joe Quesada Interview...

So is it MJ?

Or is that just to easy?

Not sure I like Spidey's web-pattern turning white like in the movies...

Hey, Captain just want to say you're doing a great job as a mod on these boards. I thought the intereview was great in that it hit home just the point that I have been trying to make;Joe Q, has bosses. Joe Q, gets approval from those bosses. He does not operate in a vacuum nor does he do anything without the people above him knowing what he's doing.If Dan Buckely and others didn't think he was doing what he was supposed to do-HE would be LONG GONE! That's corporate America.I think putting Slott on Amazing and focusing on Amazing 3x a month, essentially will give a great deal of control to Slott.Fan criticism of Spidey's current path has made a difference, but sales of Amazing have increased under JMS. He's not leaving under a cloud of failure.He's fulfilled his contract-twice if not mistaken. I'm hoping that sales of Amazing under Dan Slott go through the roof, that way, Corporate Marvel has to listen to the fans of Marvel characters regarding who portrays these characters the best-best being a balance of both continuity driven artistic creativity and SALES.

And as with most of corporate America, the BIG BOSSES don't have a clue as to what goes on at the bottom of the ladder. They only care about PROFIT.

So that flimsy argument doesn't hold water, imo. JQ brought these horrible stories to the table in the first place. They just happen to be horrible stories that MAKE MONEY off of Spidey's success from the MOVIE.

Which is why I'm hoping that Slott's run is crazy successful. This is not kiddie comic books my friend this is multi biliion dollar business. If Slott's creative and faithful presentation of Spider-Man makes MORE MONEY than JMS, we are the winners.We can say to the suits that continuity and faithful presentation of Spidey, is the way to REALLY make money.

Very nice interview, there were things that were really good to know, and exciting things! :up:


But there was a couple of things that made me feel bothered like before. So far, OMD is really great and enjoyable, but only time will tell whether or not it ends up being great or not great.

I am completely ready to renew my subscription to do my small part to support Mr. Slott IF things turn away from the Grey Goblin mystic spider crap... because siver age Spidey rules.

That's the thing I'm bothered about- the faithfull presentation of characters and tight continuity.
 
The one thing that gets me is that Marvel is leaking TOO much information, they must know that we the fans are seeing all these leaked info and pictures. It would be way too obvious for Jackpot to be MJ. I think there's gonna be a serious twist in OMD, because Marvel is already telling us too much, they just revealed that Swingshift WAS in continuity, we got this new image of Spidey and Jackpot from BND, joey q continues to insist that MJ is going away... i dunno guys something stinks here, wouldnt giving all that information away ruin OMD??
