I think folks are interested, I'm guessing the 'view' numbers here isn't working properly. JoeQ does come off as a really cool guy in this. He does 'slip' when he refers to Mesphito as the devil though. :yay:

Pretty interesting. Especially the part about MJ and Bruce.

Can someone summerize it, i don't wanna watch it, but i'd like to know what is said.
thanks in advance.

Honestly man, you should go listen to it. JoeQ talks about the process of decision making and how they came very close to bringing back Gwen Stacy (which he admits would of been a huge mistake.) He explains how they really didn't know at the time who Pete's new love interest would be, and how Carlie was named after his daughter. There's trivia about whether or not the bridge where Gwen died was the Brooklyn or GW bridge. I'm just rattling stuff off the top of my head, but there's nothing to watch. It's a podcast. There's a bunch of stuff and it's fun to listen to. :yay:

It's the BB, Thats what was drawn, thats what i'm going by, besides, Pete had the flu, his mind was all wonky, thats why he said GWB...

I tend to go with Brooklyn Bridge myself. That's what's drawn. It is a more iconic recognizable bridge. It makes more sense as the BB connects Manhattan with Brooklyn/Queens, GWB connects Manhattan with New Jersey.

Sat through the interview. I give him credit for giving the interviewer all the time. I'm sure he's a decent guy. I guess he's not unlike the posters here that I argue with.

I know he's not a villain out to ruin Spidey. It is in his best interests to keep all the Marvel titles strong. I just think he has wrong ideas about Spider-Man.

He says people complaining Pete missed his wedding because he was stuck under a fat guy are being trite. Well that's what happened. We didn't write it. His excuse is he was hit in the head by a cinder block. What, Spidey's spider-sense doesn't work with an average person coming at him with cement?

You can see this guy is still hung up on Gwen. Yeah we know that scene was in the Annual. But, Pete talking to Gwen on the bridge has been as common as Pete talking to Uncle Ben at his grave site. It made sense in the story, as Gwen was his first real love. It was setting up doubt about the end of the story, as was MJ's bachelor-ette party.

And yeah they both were having cold feet. A lot of people do before a wedding. The point was, they overcame the cold feet because they were in love and wanted to spend the rest of their lives together (or until a better offer comes up from Mephisto :whatever:).

Oh, I thought it was Puma who gave Pete & MJ the honeymoon, not "Bruce."

But the BB was drawn by accident, and the Goblin picked the GWB because George Washington was Norman's favourite president.

Also, The Pulse #4 confirms GWB.

I always took that as a joke that Spidey quipped because Washington was on the dollar bill and Norman loves money.

Well, the joke wouldn't make any sense if he were referring to the Brooklyn Bridge.

Was the GWB shown? or only mentioned?
The BB was shown originally, that makes it the one where it happened...

Also, i don't like the fact that he was "talking" to Gwen on the bridge, when there was another issue where him an MJ where near it, and he couldn't stand the site of it....

But the artist was supposed to draw the GWB. The writer wrote GWB.

My point being, Norman didn't actually pick the GWB because Washington was Norman's favorite president.

And yes, no New Yorker would make that mistake. I think the joke works for the GWB, but the imagery works a lot better with the BB.

That makes no sense to me, but I have lost interest.

Meaning I'd rather there not be the GWB line and have it be the Brooklyn Bridge.

And you're right. We've discussed this way more than we needed.

One of the reprints does have Spider-Man saying "Brooklyn Bridge"

Yeah I remember they edited the text once in a reprint to say Brooklyn bridge. They can't redraw all those scenes. I donno. Myself, I go by the original text.

You believe words of your eyes?

Eyes, but now it seems that doesn't matter, an example being MJ was never pregnant. And before folks correct me on this, here's Steve Wacker telling me they won't be explaining the Clone Saga:

[Combustible Pumpkins quote]

I think the damage was done when Mesphito told Pete and MJ that a part of their souls will be tormented because a part of them knows they were married. So in other words, evil wins. You can eventually repair any continuity issues with future issues, but how do you fix that?

Honestly, there's probably a lot more disgruntled Spidey fans out there than you are suggesting. I'm not one of them, however, but I understand why they're upset.
I'm just waiting for OMIT to be over. Hopefully it addresses MJ's pregnancy and how the Clone Saga happened though. Or maybe we end up waiting another 100 issues for that explanation, eh?

[SW quote]
I don't think I suggested a number. I think you can find plenty of angry people, but I still think it's not as many as some of the internet pundits seem to think. Plus many of them are still buying the books. so we're doing our jobs.

Thanks for reading, though. (And with all due respect, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a Clone Saga explanation. I'm simply not interested in going through 21 years of history piece by piece to explain away every possible dangling plot or dialogue change. that's something for fans to debate).

Once again, I'd provide a link, but this is from CBR and it's buried somewhere (originally I sent this via email to a friend without the link.)

As far as the bridge debate goes, what creative team referenced it last? Or does that even matter?

Joe Quesada is not cool, and neither is OMIT or Carlie (and naming her after his daughter is more creepy than anything else).
