Omega Flight!!!!!

Well technically there were two teams of Alpha Flight prior to New Avengers #16

One in Space consisting of: Earthmover, Shaman, Vindicator II, Guardian I, Puck I, Snowbird

Temporal Copies: Snowbird, Vindicator II, Guardian I, Shaman, Aurora and Northstar, Puck I

Notice the only original member who didn't get a temporal copy [Sasquatch] was the only one who survived

My question is how are there temporal copies? What happened? Do the copies know they're copies? Does the general public? And why was Flight in space to begin with?

And why's this all so damn confusing?

Did Northstar and Aurora get temporal copies? cause they're still kicking in the pages of X-men.

Basically the so called death of Alpha flight was very poorly done and the situation now with who's alive and who's dead is extremely confusing.

Basically in vol.3 in order to help save Flashback from dying the team went to the past and tried to much around the time-line making things far worse. It was getting completly out of hand, so in one reality Sasquatch went to the past and talked to Shaman asking for his aid. So he created this magical coins, which Walter got in the present time and the temporal copies appeared. Their copies of the original team right before they went to fight at the Roxxon HQ, where Guardian I had his first apparent death.

Well their real, just from a different timeline

No, they think their still the same present day team

They left to go into space as they found a Plodex spaceship that had millions of Plodex eggs. So they took the ship to repopulate the Plodex homeworld as it was destroyed many years ago and in turn try to teach them not to go back to their old ways of murdering galaxies.

Temporal Copies: http://alphanex.alphaflight.net/index.php/Alpha_Flight_(Temporal_Copies)

Magical Coins: http://alphanex.alphaflight.net/index.php/Alpha_Flight_Magical_Coins

Plodex: http://alphanex.alphaflight.net/index.php/Plodex

Like I said properly best to simply ignore as it's so confusing.

Yep, but we don't know what happened to their copies. Some like Snowbird apparently has vanished after she married Yukon Jack so that's why he may be messed up marrying the temporal copy of Snowbird as noted in the handbook

Yep, Battle Report has gone on to say there were a "few" survivors implying more than one from NA #16 and that the team "Seemingly died" [so not confirmed]

If there were ever a doubt that Alpha Flight is still firmly an extension of the X-Men's corner of the Marvel universe, that explanation of temporal copies annihilates it. Only X-Men comics end up with continuity like that at Marvel.

It's messed and confusing and for Oeming's sake I hope he ignores it even if it means the rest of the AF crew vanish into obscurity for awhile [death is not the final end at Marvel, they will be back]

Omega Flight #3 will arrive in stores on June 6 from Marvel Comics. The issue is written by Michael Avon Oeming, with art and cover by Scott Kolins.

Here's how Marvel describes the issue:

"The new Guardian's stunning introduction!"

Omega Flight #3 will be 32 pages and will cost $2.99.

* Marvel Comics has announced that Omega Flight #2 and Marvel Zombies/Army of Darkness #3 have sold out. According to the publisher, there are no current plans to go back to press on either issue.

Also from the preview it seems the true villian may be Surtur as it looks like it's his demon army.

I think that may be part of human-Bill's flashback recalling his life as Bill.

I hope that flashback means that Bill will be coming back in his proper form in this issue. I like Arachne and Sasquatch and US Agent, but I'm buying the book for Beta Ray Bill's return. If he doesn't show up in #3, the series will officially be halfway over without any good Beta Ray Bill action and I will officially be pissed off.

If they make this an ongoing, at this point, I wouldn't support it.

It is, but the demons he is slaying in his flashback look like the same demons from #2 and the side panel from #3 goes along with it.

Indeed, but I wouldn't worry as Oeming has said he is going to portray a strong Bill and after Stormbreaker I expect no less.

If they make this an ongoing, at this point, I wouldn't support it.

Yeah understandable, thus far it's basically been set-up issues and going a tad slow.

It's not really about whether Bill would be portrayed strong or not. I'd expect a strong Bill or Ares or anyone with a mythological bent from Oeming. It's his MO at this point. I just want him to start portraying already, and more than just Bill's lame-ass human host.

lolz, "following the first adventure of Canada’s newest superhero team." :o

You know, I also have a problem with Marvel pretty much taking advantage of the Alpha Flight fans like our friend King_Mungi over here. I mean, this is not Alpha Flight, doesn't resembel Alpha Flight and over half the team isn't even canadian. I mean, it's like if the X-Men had 70% of its members not being mutants. This book should've just been like Canadian Avengers.

I'm a fan, but I don't mind change. Something had to be done to make the comic more mainstream to the rest of the public. Having purely Canadians on the team isn't a big grab for American readers. Also having some americans and an alien sure got people talking.

Heck It's not Alpha Flight, it's Omega Flight :oldrazz:

GWNA: Great White North Avengers?

Rumor way back when the team was going to be called "Avengers North"

I still would've liked to see some more Alpha Flight members on the team. Having Heather on there as Vindicator would've emphasized the conflict with Pointer as the new Guardian a lot more, too.

As would I, and yeah that would be a nice story.

From the visions in Omega Flight seems like Snowbird may join the team.

[blackout]Tanaraq[/blackout]. You're right, that's not much of a surprise. Still cool, though.

Now the question is why is he in that prison? and love how they showed him as a giant as the other
Great Beasts can alter their size. Those who arn't familar with Alpha Flight and Sasquatch will most likely get confused with Tanaraq if not handled properly. I'm sure Mike will do an excellent job.

So my other question is, are the other
Great Beasts
going to appear?

with the issues selling out liek this marvel ought to make some new plans fron an ongoing.

That should be pretty sweet. I'm actually more curious about where the Wrecking Crew is, though.
