Since Jimenez will be the regular artist for Amazing Spider-Man once JMS is off the book, is anyone thinking the same thing that I am that Slott will become the writer for the book and this FCBD book is a mere sample of whats to come?

I think that's what everybody is thinking. And considering what Joe Quesada said about Slott in the recent issue of Wizard it might be happening. I believe that Quesada was comparing Slott to Bendis and Millar. Not their writing styles but the way they rose up into the mainstream comics. He said that 2007 is Slott's year. And, damnit, it should be.

Because he captures the classic spirit of superheroes with wit and charm to an extent beyond most other writers in the industry today. Read She-Hulk, The Thing, and Spider-Man/Human Torch to see what I mean.

You should DEFINITELY check out the Spider-Man/Human Torch miniseries. That miniseries alone shows exactly why Dan Slott should be writing The Amazing Spider-Man. Great characterization. Great balance of humor and drama. And, the best part to me, continuity.

But other great stuff he's done is She-Hulk, The Thing, Great Lakes Avengers, and I believe he did a Batman story too. I forget the name of it though.
