Omega Flight!!!!!

Actually, I believe Surtur WAS more powerful than the Beasts.

But I guess I could see it. More like some splinter god cell thing or something.

Wouldn't Surtur have been more powerful than the Great Beasts anyway? I'm not saying I even like the idea myself, I'm just suggesting it as a possible explanation for the link between the Surtur and the Beasts.

*shrugs* we don't know, we havn't seen the Beasts unleashed. All we know is they basically killed everyone in their universe and have complete control over it. What size, what forces were inside the universe is unknown.

It would almost make sense from a cultural standpoint.
I mean the great beasts are supposedly an Inuit/native american thing right?
The Norse did have some influence on the native americans. It's not beyond the realm of possibility that some aspects of their respective religions got kinda blended together. That sort of stuff happens.

I mean Hinduism was sort of started by a blend of religions with the Norse, why not the native american/inuit belief structure too?

I doubt that the writers would realize that though even if they do decide to write up some connection between Surtur and the GB.

Yes and no, the Inuit just know them well as they were mortal enemies of the Gods of the Arctic:

The Great Beasts are actually older than Asgard and older than the Earth, and are the personifications of death on Earth when it was first commencing alive.

However, your right they can still make a connection we just have to see

This was a pretty damn good issue. Kolins freakin' killed. And it looks like the Wrecker just got a serious upgrade.

Well I'm actually suprized you said that, and yeah it sure seems like it.

I remember the days when Wrecker didn't use to job and actually one-shooted and knocked out the Hulk

MAN I just got done with OF3 and all I can say is WOW is it very Simonsony! lol
I loved it. Making me wonder if we will see Thor and BRB get together sooner, meh I can wait. :D

If Thor and Bill meet up again in the near future, I can't see it being in Thor's book.

Why not? It'd actually make sense, given that Bill is the only person Thor views as an equal who has a vested interest in Asgard and seeing the Asgardians return safely. Frankly, I'd be confused why Bill wouldn't drop in if he heard that Asgard had appeared over Oklahoma.
He was also a giant.
He was gigantic, but the Marvel version is specifically referred to as a demon. Marvel's Asgard seems to have some kind of distinction between giants as a species and guys who just happen to be giants, but are of other species.

Yes Surtur is a fire demon, and not a giant. They are different Agardian species. Demon come in many sizes just about any where you look in history. Just because Surtur was Huge doesn't mean he's of the Giant race.

As for BRB appearing in Thor's book, I don't see why not either. You have to figure, now that BRB/Simon has even said that Asgard is his HOME, and he does remember THOR, He'll seek Thor out as soon as he can.
Not only that, it seems to me that since Simon/Bill has visions, he may not even need news, to be told that Asgard is here. It's just a matter of time, and both BRB and Thor settling in.

O.K. I got confused here. I was thinking of typical Norse mythology, where Surtr is indeed a fire giant, from Muspelheim. But I didn't know Marvel changed that.

It's possible, although I think Bill's visions are more because of the Great Beasts and their connection to the demons who drove the Korbinites from their home than anything else. I think the Great Beasts or Surtur or someone who really wants Bill to know the connection between the two is sending him the visions.

Yup. THIS IS COSMIC!

Actually, it wouldn't make sense if Bill didn't show up in Thor's comic, seeing how Thor's probably going to go on this world tour of what's going on or something.

And the whole Asgard reappearing thing.

Because it sure in the hell isn't happening in the Fantastic Four.

I would hope not. It's a Thor-centric thing, so it should happen in Thor's comic.

Yeah, it doesn't really have much choice but TO happen in Thor's comic, to tell the truth.

Well at least theres an explanation as to why. Most times stuff like that happens you don't even get that.
