Them saying Alpha flight is dead might just mean they're not using the name "alpha flight anymore"

That's exactally it.

we dont know if any of them even are dead. All we have to go by is their "yes alpha flight is dead" statement which could very well be reffering to the team name only and one panel where the entire active roster was down and injured.
We've seen a couple of those same members since then alive and well. We've heard no news about them and we've all seen our favorite characters looking worse a thousand times.

Any of you with any kind of large comic book collections. Go back and look through your comics for any panels where, if taken out of context, could look like the main character/team member/ team was dead. You'll find a lot of em.
Seeing as how alpha flight was never really shown since thats all that panel was.

Their one of the strongest teams out there, it's a shame they were never taken serious. Check out the respect thread in my sig, you will be shocked.

But all in all this will create a massive epic battle:

Thor-New Avengers
Aries-Mighty Avengers
Beta Ray Bill-Omega Flight
I always knew that their members were quite powerful themselves (and that whenever a fanboy brings up "Wolverine's forest advantage" in a VS. debate, bringing up how Vindicator pummeled the tar out of him in a forest always deflates it a tad). I was never happy with Bendis sacrificing a lot of them just to make what would prove to be an empty, confusing waste like Collective more powerful. A shame he doesn't create as many characters as he kills off.

FYI, I'd love it if Persuasion joined the Runaways, or even showed up at all. She's the daughter of the Purple Man! Bendis amped him up from D-List loser to B-List threat, so she could have gotten more panel time too, now that dad is in the bigger leagues.

Plus, Vindicator always did have a cool costume design, IMO.

Well I'm guessing there are more people on the team then showed there (I hope at any rate) and hopefully most of the rest will be Alpha Flight members.

That really puzzles me as well, maybe he had some kind of early ties to the canadian government of something, but it would seem odd he'd keep the US agent moniker working for another government.

I dont get why, thats who he is. If Captain Britian was part of the Avengers, he would be Captain Britian.

This roster doesn't exactly make me wanna run right out and buy this. The cover art looks rather cartoony too. I guess for me, this book would have to have amazing interior art and one or two less lame team members to make me want to pick this up. I think all the best Alpha Flight people got wiped out....:(

I think the title is shaping up quite interestingly.

I hope they post a interior preveiw of it before or when the Marvel solicitations come out so I can get a better look at this. Maybe I'll change my mind. :) I have the entire first Alpha Flight run and enjoyed it.

Did SHIELD ever get Northstar back to normal?

No, he recently appeared in Uncanny X-Men. He was still evil and split Iceman in half.

I know, it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth as there was nothing wrong with that Alpha Flight. However, this new lineup has everyone talking and for the most part pretty excited.

Yeah apparently she is suppose to make her big comeback as she is one of the powered mutants still around.

Gotta respect a person who took down Galactus on his own

How can you have Alpha Flight without Puck?

:thing: :doom: :thing:

No idea, but Puck is stated to be nearly indestructable and invulnerable to harm. So he has a great chance of surviving. Plus there is still the Puck in space.

as well as with Aurora kicked the X-Men's ass. It appears Northstar can go lightspeed without harming himself now

The other female member could also be Aurora. Costume's not the same but she is creating the northern lights in the sky aka Aurora Borealis.

It's Talisman, heres an enlarged image which shows the Talisman of power on her forehead. She also is wearing a caribou robe similar design to Shaman's old one

The story will be more mystical in nature, so it makes sense it's her

Puck IS Alpha Flight. He's what makes them unique. Of course, he's quite obviously an exercise in sheer "I'm Canadian"ism that Alpha Flight's been guilty of in the past (and if you don't believe me, hear it like this. He's a tiny little guy who dresses in black and bounces around. Like a hockey Puck, eh?).

Any "Flight" without Puck is just... not taking Flight.
