I personally think they killed off Alpha Flight so they didn't have 2 of the same group running around. Kill off 1 of the 2 Alpha Flights, grab people's attention (ala Hawkeye), huge comeback for the members of Alpha Flight. Omega Flight shocks people and grabs more attention.

They're setting up Alpha Flight for a monster comeback.

whats funny is Alpha Flight is Canada's superhero team...Wolverine is from Canada. Out of all the team books and books wolverine appears in...this is probably the only one where it would actually amke sense for him to show up in..but for soem reason its the only marvel book hes NOT in.

JQ: Howard, the reason you don't remember the announcement is because there wasn't any such announcement that I'm aware of.
