I think the timestamps don't count anymore...

So 25 viral moments site apart, any evidence on-screen about X1 and X2 being set in 2005?

X1,2 and 3 likely happened within the timespan of 2 years at the most because the events of X1 seem close to the events of X2 with Scott mentioning Jean being abit different since the events of X1 and mystique still impersonating Kelly and with X3 I can't see Scott having been depressed like that over Jean for anything more then a month or 2 if even that

And Bryan has said the future scenes are set in 2023 and is 10 years After X3 so I still believe it's 2012-2013 that the OT was set

just re-watched the movie today, to look out for anything that could date it (thought I remember them saying the year at one point)

they definitely covered they tracks well, to leave the exact year as vague as possible

almost too good, while looking for any clues, I noted some missing details such as any car they showed may have had NY plates but were lacking regeneration/inspection stickers (that would normally say the year)

but, looking through some X2 screenshoots, I may have found a very little detail that they missed, revealing a date...

Wow!

Well, I think the time-set 2005-2006 is perfect for the movies.

Just please can you report me the exact quote(s) of Stryker about the "15 years" Wolverine has been searching his own identity?

I know Xavier mentioned 15 years (in X1)...
Xavier- "Logan, it's been almost fifteen years, hasn't it? Living from day to day, moving from place to place, with no memory of who or what you are"

..I am not sure if Stryker does

the picture actually says 2002 but obviously that was a year before X2 was released so you can't really go by that since they likely retconned the date

I'd say it was a year and a half, or two. Scott wasn't just depressed. He was tortured by Jean's psychic visions.

He says in X2, "How long has it been? Fifteen years? You haven't changed one bit."

I thought I remembered him saying that, but, couldn't find the exact quote, so questioned if I was remembering it right

Well, if X1 is set in 2005, then Scott, Jean and Ororo are 40. It sounds pretty good.

In X3, Beast is reading a magazine with the timestamp that says it's issued in October 2005. I doubt that he would be reading a 1-year old magazine and adding the 2002 photo above, this contradicts the 2005/2006 timestamp that's been established by FOX.

why is it that people want to movie set in 2005/2006, anyway?

I always thought the events of the OT took place over the course of a year (at most) between 2000-2001... or 2002-2003 at the latest (givin the time stamp, I found)

So I would say:

X1/X2 - 2004
X3 - 2005

Not bad.

What's that? Where is that timestamp impressed on?

Timestamps placed IN-MOVIES do matter indeed.... timestamps superimpressed on movies, like titles, don't count anymore.

I say:

X1: early 2004
X2: 6 months after, 2004
X3: late 2005

Perfect. He's monitoring the school since 2002, then.

I would say:

X1-X2: 2004
X3: 2005

So the OT is set in 2004 (X1, X2) and 2005 (X3). The X-Men were 39/40 years old (except Beast, Wolvie and the "kids"). Just remember, cinematic mutants show at least 10 years LESS than their real age (see Magneto and Xavier in the OT), they age a bit slower and a bit better than humans.
