Once Upon A Time In Wonderland

I just hope it doesn't head into territory where the numbers don't support keeping it on for even that full-run of 13 they've got planned. Then again, between the much more considerable failures of Betrayal and Lucky 7 (which has already been canned), maybe they won't rush to pull another new show if they've got nothing to replace it with.

Worse debut numbers than Last Resort in the same timeslot, if it goes below a 1.3 it will be canceled. Depending on the numbers it will air the remaining episodes or be pulled for Scandal or Grey's reruns. ABC just keeps having trouble with that timeslot.

Don't know why ABC hasn't grown any balls and moved Greys into the 8pm timeslot and let newer shows thrive.

Exactly. That show is ten seasons in. If it can handle the slot, great. If it can't, it's likely in it's twilight years anyway.

I gotta say.... I loved the premier. If it remains as good i might like it more than regular Once .... The show feels more put together and serious to me.

for some reason I think Cyrus is Aladdin.

I thought it was pretty clear he was aladdin's genie.... He's from Agrabah , Jafar wants him and his wishes (probably powers) and Cyrus said he spent a long time just wanting to be freed. Which he was.... He can come and go as he pleases.... Though wish he lived in a lamp... Not a bottle

The Magic Mirror/Sidney Glass was also a Genie from Agrabah, and was expressly referred to as 'The Genie of Agrabah'; he also corresponded much more closely with both the Disney interpretation of the Genie from the Aladdin story and the traditional interpretation of said character as seen in the original Aladdin story.

I think they originally were going to make him one in the same. But i think they ditched that after they made him the mirror. I felt sidney glass always had more in common with a post jafar genie than aladddin's. He also wasn't full of life like cyrus seems to be. he does seem like a mesh of genie and Aladdin though. But i doubt he's Aladdin. Cyrus seems to have been a genie for a very long time... And did find someone to free him

Eh, I have a feeling other than Jafar and his backstory for the show, they won't touch on Aladdin too much. Though I am not against Cyrus being him.

I think Aladdin and jasmine may end up just being just 2 out of hundred's of people genie has met. Aladdin's story is only needed if he freed genie.

Though i could see Jasmine dumping a lying Aladdin and he frees his genie by trading places with him i suppose. Though the fact he spent a long time wishing to be set free seems like a decent nod at Aladdins genie to me.

Another format that I think would've worked better for this would've been as a summer series. Save it for summer 2014 to run between seasons 3 and 4, starting in June, leading up to the new season in September. But no no, lets throw it in the Thursday at 8 timeslot. Real smart, guys. :o

Red Queen has a deep emotional reason for what she is doing.

I knew it. She's not really evil, Alice must have done something nasty to her. Maybe killed her fiance or something?

 This is getting ridiculous.

At this point I think Milos is just one of those types that thinks everything they do must be iconoclastic. Sigh.

I hope that the 2 genies we have seen aren't Aladdins genie. I want Aladdins genie to have a big personality and not look so ordinary. They need to make them look clearly different from humans unless the human switched places with a genie.

Just watched the episode. I really liked it. I find it much more entertaining than OUAT is right now. I've seen some complaints about the CGI and I honestly didn't mind it until the last 10 seconds when they showed Alice and Knave walking down the road. That kind of threw me off. Overall I really like the show so far even though there's only been one episode. I hope it stays entertaining because I'm honestly bored with OUAT right now.

Just watched this last night and fell asleep for a lot of it. I found the special effects to be terrible (like the old SciFi shows from the early 2000s like Lexx and Black Scorpion) and distracting. The acting was also really cheesy and bad. Maybe the show was designed to be like a bad B movie but that's what it felt like.

When I saw the red queen my wife and I both started to laugh because of how weird she looked. Her head was oddly shaped and those freaky lips made her seem like a duck. To add to that her acting was atrocious!

I really liked the Knave, the White Rabbit, and the doctor in the sanitarium. I think he was the same actor from the short-lived Alcatraz TV show. I think he is very good.

I'm hoping it gets better or I'll just stick with the original Once Upon a Time.

.
My exact thoughts when seeing the Red Queen lol

I didn't think she was horrible looking but her lips were pretty distracting.

While the Red Queen does look EXTREME. I cant help but not mind it since it is Wonderland where things are very different from other realms/

Yeah, that was extreme. It was like they were purposely making it seem like they were walking through a video game or something...

But complaints I've seen about stuff like the Cheshire Cat? I'm sure the creators are SO sorry they don't have Avatar money so that they could properly render a full CGI character to this audience's approval. :o For what their budget probably is, I thought both the White Rabbit and Cheshire Cat looked pretty damn good.

They probably could've made Chesire smaller so he could look better but I was fine with his look. But this is why this type of show shouldn't be 22 episodes long, give it 12/13 with a bigger budget so they can do things properly.

I thought the White Rabbit looked great. Didn't mind Chesire Cat either. But I loved the White Rabbit!

I thought it was awesome that they played against expectations with the rabbit. "Oh, you think the cute CGI bunny is just going to be comic relief? Guess again! He's a real threat to our heroes."

As for The Red Queen? I think the actress is fine, and quite striking, though a friend of mine did tell me he thought she had an "80's porn starlet" thing going on with her overall look.

As for SFX? It was on the level OUAT has had, and in a few instances were better to my eyes. Cheshire looked fine, the rabbit was pretty well integrated and the two scenes of Cyrus' "death" looked way better than the average SYFY offering.

With Socha on board I can only wish they could get Damien Molony in the cast. Whomever he'd play, he'd be awesome at it.
