Once Upon A Time In Wonderland

This is one series that has somehow unknown for me even though I love abc. Is there a website I can look it up from the start, that is allowed to be used in Europe, can't seem to find it.

It just premiered here in the states last night. It might not have premiered where you are yet.

I hope the ratings convince them to go back or at least revise the plan to have WONDERLAND type shows on when OUAT is off the air. Sawyer was right. They got greedy.

for some reason I think Cyrus is Aladdin.

Hmm... Yes... That could work. Also par for the course when it comes to the showrunners combining characters. The actor was not bad, but Socha had more chemistry with Alice.

From what I've read online, seems to be a lot of mixed reactions toward the first episode. I liked it enough, not in the, "OMG, can't wait for next week!" kind of way, but it was a promising start. Alice and the Knave make for a pretty solid couple. Cyrus doesn't really interest me, so I'm skeptical about basing the main story line on finding him. I'm sure they'll further explain their relationship, but it just didn't grab my attention. The CGI was a mixed bag, the Rabbit and the Cheshire Cat looked surprisingly great, but the environments were like playing a PS1 game. I can understand the explanation that it's meant to look cartoony, but it doesn't really mesh well with some of the actual foresty type sets they built (which I liked). Jafar's look + staff + flying carpet = awesome. If this show doesn't work out, I'd like to see him and the rest of the Aladdin gang shipped to OUAT.

I talked with my mom about the first ep today and she pointed out that while it was good it just did not grab you the way that the premiere of ONCE did. Again, it was by no means bad, but they needed something with more oomph to it, ya know? I think a 2 hr premiere would have served it better.

When it comes to ABC's scripted shows, the Thursday 8PM timeslot has always been a problem for ABC. I didn't expect this show to premiere with lower ratings than last year's Last Resort because I felt this show would appeal to more people. But with a 1.7 rating, I think show is doomed especially if they don't move it to another timeslt. ABC should have save this next year when OUAT is off the air.

It was better than I thought. I'll keep watching while I can.

The numbers honestly shock me. I wasn't expecting it to be huge, but the only past show in that slot it managed to top was Zero Hour?! Huh?! It's spun-off from one of the more successful shows on ABC in recent years AND it's WAY more ABC-appropriate than something like Last Resort was...

I'm guessing there was just too much competition last night, between that ****ing Big Bang Theory being bigger than ever and the memorial episode of Glee at 9, maybe some viewers just didn't want to bother with this beforehand.

This show is a gamble that nobody involved with it can really lose. ABC loses nothing by airing the entire run of episodes they've already ordered, either in the Thursday timeslot or another timeslot, we as fans won't be cheated because the show is 'closed-ended', and the PTBs lose nothing because they were able to tell a story that they never would've been able to tell on the 'flagship' show, OUaT.

ABC also has the ability to do everything in their power to get viewers interested in the show thanks to it being a spin-off of Once by using that show to promote the heck out of it.

I just hope it doesn't head into territory where the numbers don't support keeping it on for even that full-run of 13 they've got planned. Then again, between the much more considerable failures of Betrayal and Lucky 7 (which has already been canned), maybe they won't rush to pull another new show if they've got nothing to replace it with.

I like this cast too. If this doesn't last past this season, I do hope we might see some of them pop up on OUAT at some point.

I would not mind Hook or one or two others going bye bye, and folding Alice, The Knave and Jafar into OUAT.

Like I said, ABC has nothing to lose by letting the show run its course even if future ratings don't improve.

The numbers do make things look bleak, but this show has a number of advantages that other shows don't and that 'offset' what would normally be a dire situation.

I think they may have spent a little bit more time on little Alice and abit more time on Alice coming back and stealing evidence.

Yup. That would have helped add texture and help explore character more for all involved.

If this is truly a closed-ended story, I can imagine they might leave well enough alone with Alice and presumably leave her to her happy ending with Cyrus. But I could see the Knave returning to Storybrooke when all is said and done. He seemed pretty eager to get back.

And yes, moar Jafar.

I do agree the first episode didn't grab me like the first episode of OUAT did but I have faith it will get better and better, I sure hope it's time slot doesn't kill it! Stupid outdated Nielson rating crap!

But Jafar is my favorite already...would be sweet to see him crossover into the main show eventually.

Well, I actually want Alice to hook up with the Knave already and it's ep one. They go that route, and when the Knave returns to our sleepy little town in Maine he brings Alice with him. Seeing Naveen as Jafar just makes me want to see a three way (get your minds out of the gutter :oldrazz:) dance between Regina, Rumple and Jafar. And forget about action, I just want to see the dramatic sparks fly.

Of course the Knave wants to go back to Storybrooke. He's been pinching Granny's Lasagna for months!!!

The actress who plays Alice seems to have come from the Keira Knightley and Emma Watson 'jaw jutting' school of acting.

As much as people might want to ship Alice and The Knave, it's already been made clear that Cyrus is Alice's OTL.

That's not going to stop people from fanon-shipping her with The Knave, but that's all said ship is ever going to be: fanon.

I think this show would have served a Monday time slot better, spinoff need to be close to the main show to work. Having it Monday you still have OUAT fresh in mind and it's not distant like with Thursday where a fantasy show just can't hold up against powerhouses like BBT and seasoned vets like Glee. Just an opinion.
