Those panels are kinda amusing, but the text is pretty hard to read in the second.
….Just musing about the $3.99 price tag,- what exactly was the reason for this price increase?
Just for the sake of it really, because the contents did not warrant it- we get an updated Spider-Man profile- thanks but as good as those guys are at writing them, I got loads of ‘em already.
Plus we get some of the OMD sketchbook! If I wanted to buy that thing I would have already, but they force you to anyway by sticking half of it in w/ the latest issue of the comic.
Well, it certainly doesn't help when matters when Marvel shows the preview art of Peter vs. Iron Man from this issue--great fight that it is--and it turns out to be the only thing that is really eventful in the entire comic. Not to mention all the interviews and appearance Joe Q gives which all but express his disdain for Spidey's marriage and how "One More Day" will be the "last word on it." It a way, things are shaping up like the Other, in that a heavily hyped event was speculated on, in which, while not many got the specific details of the plot right, many got the gist of where it was going: Spidey dies and is reborn with new powers. Here it's: Spidey saves Aunt May courtesy of Dr. Strange at the cost of his marriage.
Ugh, that’s pretty much it.
I just find it hard to believe that JQ would go that far though, he knows 90% of the readers love MJ. Surely he understands separating them again will not only piss readers off to the max, but is also pointless as they are destined to be together and in the future a new writer will just reinstate the marriage again.
ASM needs to get away from pointless developments that have no significance over a long period of time, because it just means the comic turns out being a waste of time for the reader and also- a waste of the creators time. Unless of course it is all just a business w/ no regard for the legitimacy of the story’s they are publishing…
If this really is going to the ‘last word’ on the marriage then it sure as hell ain’t gonna be a severing of it, it’s going to be a re-affirmation. Man, am I looking forward to the new teams coming onto this book because it needs to start heading into a new era. I just really hope JQ will let the creators tell their own story’s instead of once more forcing his own arcs onto them. I want to see the legend start a new, like on the last page of #300 when we see the return of the red and blues.
I want to see ASM heading in meaningful direction. The shock sales spiking arcs have got to die.
I am still pretty pumped to read OMD though, since it’s JMS last arc and I still don’t believe Joe Q is really stupid enough to end the marriage again.
Love the new Avvy, man.
Thanx dude, it’s that Romita mask logo thing, it rules.
PS- What the hell was up w/ that scarecrow on the last two pages of #544 wearing the red and blues?
Go learn how to draw Spider-Man fatboy!
