Peter has attended his 10 year high school reunion. The guy is AT LEAST 28 - 29 yrs-old.

"New" reality:
ALMOST 30 and living with his elderly aunt... broke and riding a bicycle... incapable of honesty or a commitment with the girl he loves... but apparently ok with just shacking-up with her...

Does he look YOUNGER now?

Not to me. How much difference is there in five years? He pretty much looks like he did during the JMS run. On the other extreme you had "Sins Past" with that fill in artist (I forget his name) that gave Peter crows lines, creases and cracks. Have no clue what that was all about. Looked like his art fell in the ink well, too. Gigantic black areas on faces. Crappy quality all around. He made Peter look around 50. It was dumb.

Yeh...This new alternate reality Pete honestly does come across as a creepy old loser now. Someone you wouldn't trust your kids around. (I never thought I'd be saying that about pete, but sheesh...they've made him into a loser.)

And knowing that he gave his marriage to the devil makes him selfish and dopey on top of that....just my opinion from a happily married guy...who wouldn't trade past, present and FUTURE with my wife for any of my (very loved) elderly relatives.

If you're asking me if I'd let a 30 year old who still lives with his elderly Aunt, babysit my children??.....the answer is unquestionably no!!...I won't even bring in the other Devil dealing silliness into the equation.....where'd anyone call him a molester??.....he's not responsible...he aint trustworthy...you jumped the gun on "molester"..not the previous poster......

this has to do with my refusal to hand over the responsibility of one of my children to a man who isn't responsible enough to have his sh$% together enough to not be free-loading off his elderly Aunt!!...

The previous poster didn't say anything about responsibility. What he did say was that Peter now comes off as "creepy". With a following sentence about being untrustworthy around children. So if that isn't alluding to being a molesterer I don't know what is!

Even if BND was the worst comic book ever created, that would just be a reflection of Spider-Man, not all of Marvel. What you said ("Quesada has done the dumbest crap to Marvel") was ignorant and, thus, sigh worthy.

It's really not the character either, because it is how he is WRITTEN lately, not what he WOULD do or makes sense....but after forsaking his wife in the rottenest lowest way imaginable...so he can be shacking up with aunt may again, like a hobo...is just...dippy.

Sure, pete is a down on his luck guy....but they've taken it to an extreme, imo now.

Although I'm not surprised that the guy who thought Gwen, by cheating on Peter and getting knocked up by one of her friends father, for NO good reason, just made a little, understandable mistake...

Some people don't want to get it. But I admire your energy in trying to make the point.

I just read an article on the front page of Yahoo that fans are pissed about the marriage being erased.

And rightfully so.

There is A LOT to be pissed about... but if I had to pick the biggest offender... the deal killer if nothing else had happened, it would be the loss of the marriage.

Through many stories that I found bad, disappointing and dull (Sins Past, The Other, Civil War) the relationship between Peter and MJ remained a highlight. I loved the romance that you had BECAUSE they were married... committed to each other...

I know some people think "shacking-up" is no biggie and that plenty of mature, moral, responsible, guys would settle for just living with the love of their lives.... but, face it, for some people the LACK of a marriage relationship changes a "romantic moment" into an immoral one.

WHY would they want to step on toes and eliminate a big chunk of their readership, when HAVING the marriage was NOT a deal killer for a vast majority?!

That kind of arrogance and stupidity is mind-boggling!

As others have stated, that's somewhat better than dealing your past present, future, supposedly with someone YOU "LOVE" (that's the kicker), to the DEVIL.

He was in The electric company, heck even a Silver spidey appeared at the end of Muppet Babies... now THAT guy is a devil dealing coward that wanted to become a child trapped in an adult's body thanks to Mephisto's evil cousin Joe...
