One More Day Discussion Thread

See, but that's not a joke. That's just ******ed. Be less ******ed.

I want to see Joey Q, Dan Slott, and JMS in a jello pit, wrestling in thongs.

There's nothing left, people...it's finally come to this. :cwink:

So who knows? Let's hope we can get some good Spidey stories for a change.:yay:

Just for the record...this is why I dropped Spidey "again"...not because he's not married to MJ....but because I have no faith in Marvel being able to write a Spidey that will illicit any type of emotional response from me other than :whatever: :whatever: :whatever: ......and that includes Slott sadly....fool me once shame on you....fool me 43 times, I had to eventually wake up.

But as you well know... comics are cyclical... there will be both good and bad eras in the stories of ANY of our favorite characters...

Unfortunately for Spidey, there have been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many bad ones the last 25 years.

:csad:

I posted this at the Spider-Man Forums... might as well copy it here...

I guess I'm going to throw my two cents here and just simply state that just because they have NOT happened does NOT take away from the greatness of any story.

Spectacular Spider-Man #200 is a great comic and should always be looked upon as such.

When Amazing Spider-Man #120 came out, much to many fans shock, it was seen as a great turning point in Spidey's life. Yet 14 months later, we get the reappearance of Gwen... who turned out to be a clone, but nonetheless, imagine what readers were thinking when they saw ASM #144... did they feel that ASM #120 was now sullied or cheapened? Maybe? Matbe not? I was only 8 years old at the time, so I can barely remember such feelings (I probably didn't care... :csad: )

I guess what I'm trying to get at is that comics (both Marvel & especially DC) have changed things to characters that do not fit with everything that went on in the past... but that does NOT take away the goodness that the original books were...

So be angry all you want... but Kraven's Last Hunt will always be a fabulous read, no matter what Marvel does with any of the characters involved now and in the future.

Cheers...

oh absolutely MOTB....couldn't agree more.....Captain America held no interest for me a few years ago.....it was my favorite book last year.....I'm just tired of coming here all angry all the time because of the latest spidey story....see I'll jump back on the Spidey bandwagon when the stories "get" better...not in "anticipation of stories getting better"...Spidey had that loyalty with me a few years ago.....that goodwill is gone.

For anyone interested, Slott and I are best buddies now. He's coming over to play bridge tomorrow night.

Bridge?! You said it was gonna be CRIBBAGE! Damn you and your bridge, sir!!! DAMN YOU STRAIGHT TO HELLLLLLLL!!!!

Just kiddin'.

We're all square now. It's jake. :word:

Loved that preview Mr. Slott.

I haven't bought a Spidey book since Sins Past. Help us long-time fans, please.

We play crib in all parts of Lower Canada...

I've yet to get a 29 hand... :csad:

I've looked to cut for a 29 several times in my life....has still eluded me
:(......oh and Slott's not from lower Canada so my amazement is still valid...seriously I didn't think cribbage had much mainstream acceptance...

I've been thinking of getting runes on the insides of my forearms for years, but not seriously. I always convince myself it'd be ******ed, since Norse is one of the few ethnicities that aren't in my background.

That would require a mod. Which makes mods our version of Mephisto, I guess.

I've got runes on my right shoulder blade. They actually make very good tattoos and you don't have to have the paranoia that the "Chinese Character Tattoo" people have, since you'd be doing most of the research as to what those runes mean.

I don't even know what Cribbage is. :(

I don't know what "jake" is. Is that from the same dialect as "macking"?

Oh, so it's British. My teeth are straight. Can I still play?

Bridge is way cooler anyway. With bridge, you get to chat it up with old *****es and sip Fresca. :o

See Cribbage is just like that; except instead of Fresca, Perrier.
