One More Day Discussion Thread

The pun is diminished with every passing mention:(.

I wonder what everyone would think about OMD if Slott was actually the mastermind behind it. I'd be willing to bet a lot more people would have had a more favorable response to it.

I wouldnt...i will be honest ive only been readong comics for about 8 years or so ...hardly making me and expert and i am barely familiar with some of his other work. If he was the writer or mastermind as you say with all the same words and pictures involved i'd still be annoyed and angered at it

Eight years is pretty long:eek:. I haven't been reading that long.

'Course I have no life and spend my time coming up with name-related puns, so...

He didn't so why should it matter?

You're really trying to stir the pot here.

It's a OMD discussion thread. I'm discussing.

If Dan Slott had been the mastermind of OMD, then the final outcome/product would have been different. The marriage would have still been ended (as that was the reason behind it all), but it would have been told and presented in a better fashion...in MY opinion.

End of discussion (on THAT topic).

:yay:

No, you're bringing up irrelevant hypothetical questions based on your sudden anger towards the greatest man to ever pick up a pen, Dan Slott.

Your Dan Slott hate is fascinating.

No, I'm saying, I wonder how people would've reacted if Slott's name was on the cover instead of JMS'.

Hard to say, because in MY opinion, OMD would have turned out much better, potentially tear-jerkin' reaction material, and it might have been more on the positive side.

However, it could have been the same as it is now...

Too bad we'll never know.

:yay:

is'nt it stated somewhere that Joe Q himself said he was'nt concerned with Marvel Continuity...only telling what he thought were great stories...

If thats true and this is what he calls great stories then this is just the tip of the iceburg folks...

You're missing the point. Same story. Same words, same pages, same art. The ONLY difference is that Slott's name is on the cover. Do you still hate it? Do you think it's awesome because Slott's greatness is enough to blind you?

I'm trying to get at the influence a creator's name can have on our opinions.

Well the JMS being kicked out of Marvel one wasn't really supposed to be funny, but supposed to scare TheCorpulent1.

Take a break, Darth.

A pity that stories like OMD is crap and insulting.

So basically Queseda lied about everything he said about JMS in part 3 of his interveiw.

Well, it's actually more like this:

JMS: "The ending for One More Day is not how I wanted it to go, and I wanted to take my name off the last two parts because of that."

Joe Quesada: "Not so fast, Joe. You were all on board for spliting up the Spider-Marriage just like I was. But if we did it your way, it would have invalidated 30 years of stories."

JMS: "Maybe so, but at least my ending would have made a hell of a lot more sense than the "it's just magic" solution you guys came up with."

Dan Slott: [waving a copy of Amazing Spider-Man #546]: Pay no attention to those bickering men behind the curtain!
