One More Day Discussion Thread

He should be at home, making more web fluid, since you know, his webshooters are back.
He probably can't because May will now apparently just walk in on his ass. You can't have those scenes anymore where May is politely knocking on the door, trying to keep her face from going red because she thinks Peter is wacking it, while Peter desperately tries to hide all his webshooter paraphernalia. She's stepped into the new millennium and remembered that it's her damn house.

That's classic Spider-Man dude.:csad:

Don't even pretend FoS weren't great. :o

I would never do such a thing.

It is kind of tacky to see Peter in a club hitting on college girls while still living at home with his aunt/mother. I see he's going for job interviews, so I hope the point of this first arc is to move him out of May's house. You're a grown-ass man now, Peter. Find yourself a ratty hole-in-the-wall apartment and live like one.

Well, Slott did mention Pete would have a job at the Bugle again. Betty Brant already found him an apartment in the preview.

And as a bit of a geek/nerd my self, it isn't hard to just stand around and find some drunk girl making out with you. It happened to me once and all I'd said to her was: "Have you seen my friend's aviators? I think you had them."

The other time I was just sitting there, being a wallflower.

I really wish they'd gone with Peter as a teacher again instead of back to the Bugle for the nine billionth time. Freelancing at the Bugle is all well and good, but teaching science was a really great idea on JMS' part that no one ever really followed through on.

Now that I think about it, though, teachers are generally perceived as old. Hell, it's not uncommon for a lot of them to be married. Guess teaching would make Peter age too much.

Acting his age, teaching again, expanding the supporting cast without bringing characters back from the dead. These are all foreign concepts, dude. :(

Honestly though? A teaching job wouldn't work for Peter. For reasons they already named in the preview.

Peter David did for a while over on FNSM...

I didn't read much of FNSM. The image inducer period doesn't count, though. That was just weird.
I think it's supposed to be 26-28. Around there.
I was thinking early 20's. A guy pushing 30 at home with his maternal figure? Just... wow. That's a level of sad that most men shudder to even think about.

I think he did in Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man #24... with the first appearance of the Hypno-Hustler...

:yay:

I had that one. Peter and friends went to a disco and ordered sodas. The waitress was like "as mixers, right?" He looked pretty crisp in his white polyester suit.

Having said that, PP,TSSM #24 beats the heck out of that preview.

My idea of character growth: Living at home with your parents until your 30's.

Damn, Peter Parker is a big ****ing loser.:csad:

aren't you pushing 30?:o

No, I just barely pushed past 20 a few years ago. And I live in my own damn apartment, *****e. :cmad:

Oh, I wasn't sure if his teaching gig was still part of continuity, since he mostly got it to pay for the apartment he was living in with she-who-shall-henceforth-not-be-named.

Read the preview they posted. It answers a few questions right off the bat.

No, it just makes excuses for him not being able to teach.

It does make sense that people wouldn't want to hire him with that record. Substitute work is still an option, though. He could sub and still work for the Bugle freelance. The teaching angle is too good an idea to let go of, in my opinion.

Wow, even Aunt May thinks Peter is a loser. My god.

See, that's were this **** gets lazy. Mephisto can undo everything except for convenient things like that. Good job, guys. Really. Way to think this one through.
