One More Day Discussion Thread

Yeah, I really don't understand the whole "The lives of people are given to defend countries across the world and give each country its way of life." part.
I would think that strengthens the free speech argument, really. If the US is actively engaged in a war on the premise that they're fighting to preserve their way of life--of which free speech is a large part--shouldn't a US message board be encouraging free speech since, y'know, people are dying to give them that chance? Not that I'm saying that guy should've said that, either. Mostly, I just think that mod needs to get some perspective and stop being dumb.

He probably gets free comics so he just has to say stupid **** all day.

the message on that sight pretty much equates to a kid sticking his fingers in his ears going la la la i cant hear you la la la

Ha, I doubt the Marvel message boards treat their mods that well. He probably gets a PM with a virtual pat on the back and a "Good job, now get the fuggattaheeyuh!" message from Joe Q (actually an intern who puts a jpg of his signature at the bottom) twice a year.

I'd say its more in line with "If you don't play by my rules, I'm taking my ball and going home!" Except the taking the ball and going home part involves you being banned from an internet message board.

I would hope they get more treats. I mean mods at other comic book sites regularly get a look at advanced art and such.

That I could see. But free comics? When the suits at Marvel know they can still get the mods to pay for them? Not likely.

Isn't the hate the reason they got rid of their message boards the first time?

Well, maybe. But the message says, "if you say bad things about Joe Q you are Helping the Terrorists"? Or that lest that's what it says to me anyways.

Also, for those that want to claim "free speech"... there is absolutely no free speech in the world. The lives of people are given to defend countries across the world and give each country its way of life. So please, no standing on a soapbox claiming "free speech".

"Why is Mephisto taking Peter and MJ's Marriage?"
TERRORISM!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, that part was a head-scratcher.

I think it has more to do with the fact that free speech is a right given depending on the country you reside in, but since the "internet" exists in all countries and it's a world network, the laws are up to the moderators of the sites we frequent.

Of course, there are some countries working to somehow censor the internet.

Censoring the internet is as easy as raiding people's homes and breaking their computers.

Censoring the internet is a sure fire way to wind up in Hell.

But you get to break computers, which, if you've seen Office Space, can sure be fun.

They didn't break computers in Office Space. They broke printers.

I was extending the metaphor. :cmad: Any sort of expensive technological equipment that isn't yours ought to be reasonably fun to smash into little bits.

Either get the metaphor right the first time, or don't make it all. :o

hey the edit button is an impulsive posters friend ;)

stop checking back so fast :o

Moderators who equate comics with war and social reform = Pinheads

"Dissention of anti-Quesadites considered non sequitur. See uninformed masses for details. All who refuse to conform will be excluded and therefore ignored."
