One More Day Discussion Thread

Let's start with the miles-long list of people who can safely heal bullet wounds in the Marvel universe without devil magic.

I mean, it's really not as if Iron Man doesn't have a device that keeps you alive in spite of massive chest trauma or anything.

How many mutants or magicians are there in the universe whose sole power and purpose is to heal wounds exactly like this?

Yeah, that was pretty dumb that he didn't seek other help. Although, the bullet wasn't the problem anymore, she was in a coma.

Which...is when he the shooting happened and he went to fight ninjas:confused:.

He did seek other help....they just apparently couldn't help him........Iron Man = depower the Hulk and Sentry ...Mr. Fantastic = create the frickin universe....but a gun shot victim is over the top? :whatever:

I thought Marvel explained it as originally being post-CW/pre-shooting. It was supposed to reflect his outlook following the conclusion to CW. After the heroes left the scene, they went back one of their safehouses, and Pete was in his black suit.

What plotholes might these be? I bet there are tons but I didn't know much about Peter's start as Spidey so I just took everything at face value and ran w/ it

Do you need to know that much about Spider-man to know he would never make a deal with the devil?

The reason Spidey don the suit in the first place was because May got shot!.....so anytime Spidey's seen in the black suit (if Marvel actually adhered to continuity), Aunt May's shooting would have already happened....and Spidey's fighting Ninjas and cracking lame jokes in the black suit with the New Avengers.

But that makes Peter out to be an ***hole for worrying about ninjas in Japan while his aunt's near death.

...You know thinking about the transition from Parker's unmasking to post CW to this is one of the reasons I'm starting to think Marvel's business plan these days is modeled after a heroin junkie's reward curve. The more they hit that Event Comics button the less that fix works like it should so they have to hit it even more to keep that sales-spike fix going, to the point where there's barely time for one Universe-Changing Change that Changes the Universe to sink in before it gets completely undone by the next Earth Shattering Change that Shatters the Earth with Change. They're all of what, six, eight months out of Civil War, and they're already doing a wholesale-retcon of one of that event's most significant, publicly noteworthy consequences? There almost might be an argument for sticking with this latest revision, except there's no reason to believe it won't be thrown under the treads of yet another Event Comic Spectacular six months from now.

At this point I personally would buy whatever amount of books they like if it'd mean they just pick pick whatever version of the Marvel Universe they want to have and stick with that for I don't know, one entire year's worth of comics? But like anybody in the City of Oakland will tell you, there just ain't no dealin' with a junkie.

....breathes deep Okay! And I'm good.

It's pretty clear to me that ASM is it's own universe , since the BIB stories in SSM and FNSM also do not mesh with what's happening in ASM, even though they are clearly happening around the same time period.

The problem with ASM is it clearly saids that Spider-man is just putting on the black suit for the first time in years right after May is shot. If that text box with him saying that wasn't there, then the stories could fit together.

Well, Marvel solved that problem. One Spidey-book solves everything.[/SARCASM]

That makes him an #$#hole?...pfft...telling his wife to hit the bricks so that he can save his dying Aunt (an Aunt that told Pete through the medium Madame Web to let her go, that she was ready to die) just so he could ease his own guilt is what makes him an @#$hole...the other stuff just adds to his notoriety!:whatever:

I get what you're saying dude....but this is your freaking soul mate....any answer other than "The marriage will not end and I will fight to my death to save it"..is the wrong answer and makes Pete an @#$hole!!...MJ agreed to it because she loves her man so much she's willing to do anything for him!!...Pete agreed to it for "selfish" reasons...the difference is night and day!!...

i hear what your saying but based on this story we now know that apparently MJ is selfless and loyal to the man she loves and peter is pretty selfish.....let the lady die even she's gotta be tired of getting attacked and all the life drama all the time...i mean come on shot...buried alive...losing her husband...etc etc etc...enough is enough
