The episode "I Am the Knight" where Gordon accidentally gets shot by the Jazzman and Batman is too busy to save him. He nabs the Jazzman, but feels guilty that he couldn't have been there to protect Gordon or take the bullet for him.

Nolan could take this storyline for this movie or a future movie and have where Gordon gets shot by say...Two-Face or someone else and Batman feels responsible for letting him down. He feels like either hanging up his cowl or whupping the **** out of Two-Face or whoever shot Gordon and than realizing that if he killed him in coldblood he wouldn't be any better than the man who shot Gordon.

I don't know just a thought...

You got to remember Nolan ain't a comic book guy and plus Goyer left the outline for The Dark Knight to him.

No. That was the classic Over the Edge featuring the Scarecrow and Bane. Oddly enough, I just watched it two days ago.

No that was the one where Scarecrow sprayed her with fear gas and she dreamnt that she got killed, Gordon got pissed off, found out Bruce Wayne was actually Batman, and came after him, Tim Drake/Robin, and Dick Grayson/Nightwing.

It was a very good episode.

I remember watching that episode when I was a kid you need to watch the whole thing to understand it. Also, how Gordon got Bane to help him take down Batman. And Gordon goes over the side of the building along with Batman.

Yep, it was a terrific episode. It really drove both Batman and Gordon over the edge---making them question their loyalty to each other, their purpose, and it started making you question if Gordon was a good man or not until the very end.
