Bullseye stands, mock considering it.

"Hmm. Tell ya what, big guy.", He says, with a sadistic grin.

And suddenly, Bullseye is airbourne. Two sais spring from compartments on his gloves, as he leaps at Captain America.

"I'll do that when you're a star spangled corpse!!!", He yells, striking the sais against the shield.

Well that sucked. How's a guy supposed to gut another guy when he's hidin' behind some kinda oversized dinner plate?

Bullseye hammered into the shield, trying to break it. Nothing. Infact, the sais were beginning to bend from the pressure. Bullseye looked at them, knowing full well he couldn't get to the Captain this way. He then looked up, eyeing something. The sadistic grin? It was suddenly returned.

"Well, you know what they say...", He chuckled, throwing the sais up at a suspended crate that was being held above them from a crane. The sais split the rope holding the crate easily, as it came flying down. Bullseye had already jumped away.

"What goes up, must come down!", Bullseye laughed, as the crate came crashing down atop the masked Sentiniel of Liberty.

Boyscout? yes. Smart? Hell no!
Well, that really hurt. Good thing it didn't have much in it. Have to stay awake...

I push the crate off of me and try to stand up. My left leg hurts like a mother.... hope its not broken.

"Bullseye, thats it. There is only one way this can end now. And thats with me leaving here with you, subdues or not."

I put all my wieght on my right leg as I throw my shield at his left leg, forcing him to fall to the ground face first as the shield bounces off the ground and a pole to return to my hand. I walk over to him one the ground and hold my shield at the base of his next to keep him down.

"Game over Bullseye"

Tony leaned over and arched his eyebrow as he stared at the samples in the portfolio.

"I was hoping this was for pleasure not business."

Dinah rested her chin on her hand and gave him a sideway’s look, a slight smile playing on her lips.

“Tony… You’ve been avoiding this. Or at least making me feel like you are.”

He motioned to the waiter, who nodded at him and scurried off.

"I’m not avoiding it. I just thought you wanted to do it on your own."

“Not on my own. We’re in this together.” She pointed.
“Location?” She pointed to several glossy pictures.

Tony looked at them thoughtfully.

"St. Patrick’s Cathedral.”

Dinah raised her eyebrow.
“That was fast.”

Tony shrugged his elegant shoulders.
"I just know exactly where I want to make you mine.”

Dinah gave him an odd look as she leaned closer.
“I think a bed would be the most appropriate for that act.” She smiled and leaned back.
“Besides I thought I already was.”

They smiled at each other a gaze interrupted by the arrival of the waiter. Dinah started when she saw what he had. A wine glass and a small bottle of wine, she watched in shock as the waiter poured the dark red liquid and left. Tony picked the glass up and swirled the liquid before bringing it towards him only to find his arm stilled by Dinah’s hand as she leaned across the table grasping it.

“What are you doing?” she hissed her face serious.

He gave her the slow and easy smile that had melted, and still did, so many women’s hearts, Dinah’s face didn’t change and he grinned broader to put her at easy. A teasing yet guilty smile shrugging off any problems.

"It’s one glass Dinah. Nothing more. I’ve been working hard these past few weeks.” He moved his arm closer only to have Dinah’s grip tighten on it.

“It only takes one Tony.”

The smile disappeared.
"Trust me, I know my limits.”

“I don’t think you do.” She said her voice low.

He put the glass down and gently took her hand in his and looked her in the eyes.
"Dinah, trust me. I’d never do anything to hurt you.”

She pulled her hand away and toyed with the edge of the portfolio.
“Yes, but what about yourself?” She said looking up at him.

He gave her a warm smile.
"I love you.” She gave him a sideway’s smile.

“Dodging the subject won’t get you anywhere.”

He leaned back and shot her a smile before taking a sip of the wine.
"Not in public it won’t but it works just fine at home.” Dinah rolled her eyes.

"Now, shall we get back to our wedding planning?” He motioned towards the pages of information.

Dinah took a sip of water and nodded.

"First let’s order.” He nodded and a waiter came scurrying over.
As he smoothly requested their dinner Dinah watched him, her eyes studying his hand as it idly caressed the stem of the wine glass.

(IC: Superman)

I straight at him. I can't reveal to him that I am Clark Kent. Even if this is the last time that I will address Earth, I don't want to put my loved ones through the aftermath of such information. Ma and Pa would never be able to live in peace, as they always have. The Daily Planet would be under heavy scrutiny for allowing me to work there. The endless questions... Perry, Jimmy... Lois...

I cannot, and will not, sacrifice all of that. They mean too much to me. I decide to finally speak up.

"While I cannot speak for any other heroes who have chosen to hide their true identities, as I do not work with them, nor choose their destinies... I have not hidden my own from anyone. My true identity is Kal-El, of Krypton. It is my birth name... It is my true identity.", I begin.

"And while I have never confirmed, nor denied having a human alias... Were I to have one, it would be with reason. That reason is because, despite my alien heritage, I share one humanistic trait above all... Love. Were I to have a human name... a human identity... I would also have loved ones with it. And living openly, as you put it, with those said loved ones would put them in danger due to my very existance."

I step forward. He has to hear me. He has to understand why. No... Not him. Everyone does. They are the ones who deserve explanation.

"You spoke of Reed Richards, the leader of the Fantastic Four. While born a human being, He has aqquired, as everyone knows, extraordinary abilities far beyond those of humans. But if you notice, Luthor..."

I still blame him for this next part. Even if he wasn't directly responsible, I know, in my mind, that he had something to do with it. But I will not make my accusations known. I do not have the right to do so, nor the concrete evidence.

"Immediatley, once Richards made his powers and identity publically known, He and the rest of his team were attacked by an advanced robotic monstrosity that proceeded to attempt to kidnap him and the rest of the Fantastic Four, causing and putting many pedestrians in peril."

I turn to the crowd. I'm not even giving Luthor the gratification of an explaination. I am here to address these issues for them, not him.

"The point I am trying to make, Ladies and gentlemen... Is that, while Mr. Luthor does bring up a very good point... And while I respect and admire what each of those men and women do for this country and the world, even to this day... The fact remains, they are not targets of threats on the scale of what Reed Richards and other superpowered beings have had to endure. Why? Because those men and women are not desired to be studied and used for the capabilities they posess by others. With each new superpowered being, there is that desire, and there is that danger."

I wish I could tell them. Tell them all of how a Kansas raised alien boy grew up and moved to the big city with dreams to make the world a better place. Tell them of all my struggles... Of what it has been like to be me. But... I can't. And I just have to accept that.

"It is not fair that anyone must suffer because of the existance of me. Zod, the monster who attacked and ruthlessly slaughtered those people, did it to get to me. And that is exactly why, if I were to say that I had a human alias, that I would not reveal it. Because if he knew where I was at all times... If he knew everything about me... Many more human beings would not be alive today.", I tell them.

These are topics that I have thought long and hard about. They have plagued me ever since I first discovered my abilites and heritage.

I turn back to Luthor.

"In any case, it would not matter. I would still, very much, not be one of you. I would still be percieved as an alien, as I am every time I fly over the skies of Metropolis."

"You're right. You wouldn't be accepted, because you are not one of us. You are an alien, an other. But isn't it hypocritical that you don't reveal your identity, for fear of retribution, yet you continue to make dramatic displays of your power here on Earth. You are sending a message out across the universe. Earth has a new champion, and any alien being who wants to challenge him can feel free to attack the innocent men, women and children who inhabit this planet to get your attention. When you do what you do, we are unmasked, so to speak. You have turned our world into a beacon for trouble."

Luthor's eyes blazed in anger.

"So, you say you will give yourself up to Zod? Go. Do it. You want to help our planet? Then do so...by leaving us alone!"

Luthor's eyes blazed in anger.

"So, you say you will give yourself up to Zod? Go. Do it. You want to help our planet? Then do so...by leaving us alone!"

I...

I think I'm beginning to see his point. I didn't want to give into his arguments... I wanted to combat them and defend myself in any way that I could... But... if he's right... then I should leave. Before someone else dies for the sole reason of my existance.

I stand, looking at the crowd of reporters, journalists, and onlookers in the audience. Lois is in front row. I... Can I really walk out infront of her? Would I be letting anyone down by accepting Luthor's word against my own?

I sigh. If that's what it will take to end all of this... to bring back the days of peace and living to this planet... Then I guess I must. I look at the crowd.

"I thank you all for what you've done for me. Each and every one of you. I... I'm only sorry that I couldn't repay you."

I turn around, walking off the stage. Everyone is silent. It's... better than what I expected it to be. I'm not being booed... I'm not being yelled at... and Luthor isn't being cheered for his praise.

"STOP!"

I pause, turning around. Lois stands from the crowd, looking at Luthor with a look I've never seen.

"That's a lie and you know it, Luthor! This planet has always been in that form of danger! How DARE you try to blame this all on Superman! Superpowered beings... terrorists... madmen like Zod... they all existed before he made his appearance. You're making it sound like he started it all, when you damn well know that he didn't!"

She looks back at me. I look back at her, stunned.

"He came here to help us, and he did that. He's tried his best to defend us from all that he can with the powers he's been given when he could've easily overtaken us with his power. And now you're calling him a threat to society because of it. So what if he wants to keep his identity a secret? He's obviously doing it to protect everyone he loves."

She turns her focus to the rest of the crowd.

"Ask yourselves something. Would you not do the very same, in his circumstances? If you knew one of your loved ones were in danger... would you not do anything to protect them at all costs?"

I look at the crowd. They...

...

They're actually taking all of this into consideration. Lois looks back at Luthor.

"He may be of alien origin. He may be an outsider. But somewhere along that line of heritage, he gained something that you, from everything that I know about the 'great Lex Luthor', lack. Humanity."

She crosses her arms.

"Superman is far more humanistic than you've ever proved to be. You ride around in yachts and limosuenes, flaunting your wealth infront of everyone on a daily basis. What does he do? He goes out of his way to save people on a daily basis. Sure, he can fly. He can bounce bullets off of his chest. He can do all of these extraordinary things. But never once has he ever flaunted them in personal pleasure or gain. He uses them for us, not himself. Something none of the people of Metropolis can say the same about you."

I can't believe what I'm hearing. She's defending me on a level I didn't even think possible. I knew she was... well, a fan of me... but I never thought she'd actually have an argument against Luthor's claims and words. If she does. She's still going...

"For the past few weeks... Even today... you talk about 'us'. You speak on behalf of the entire human race with your own biased views and own ego so much, that you make even him believe your words to be true. Well let me ask you something, Luthor...", She growls, with a conviction that I can't ignore.

I look around. Some of the crowd has actually began looking at Luthor with Lois' same look. And more are following.

"Who are you to speak for 'us'?"

Lex Luthor's eyes widened - first with surprise, then with fury - at Lois Lane's outburst. Who was she to interfere here? And why could she show such admiration for Superman, yet such utter disdain for Luthor?

"Who am I to speak for us, Miss Lane? For all the dirt-digging you like to do, your recollection of the past seems largely inconsistent. I didn't always have wealth to flaunt. I was born here in Metropolis, in the area known by residents as the Suicide Slums. I earned my status through a lifetime of hard work and dedication. I didn't have everything handed to me."

Luthor tensed. He hated talking about the past, no matter how vague he kept his vocabulary.

"When Lexcorp first became a major industrail force, I got offers to relocate to New York, or Keystone City. But did I? No, I stayed here, in the city where I was born, the city I am totally and utterly devoted too. Metropolis. I have made it my life's work to make the world a better place, starting right here, with Metroplis. Not so long ago, Metropolis was a failing city, past successes long forgotten. Lexcorp has ushered our city back into a new golden age, made us the leading business centre in the Unites States, if not the entire world. I'm not one to blow my own trumpet, but ask anyone, and they'll tell you that this is the town Lex Luthor built."

Luthor looked around at the members of the press. Those judgemental looks that had began to spread now seemed less certain.

"The Suicide Slums, where I was born, have been rejuvenated with my urban regeneration program, unemployment levels decimated by jobs offered by Lexcorp factories. Outside of Metropolis, I've donated billions to African aid missions and to cancer research. Why don't you go to Delaware, to the Luthor Institute for Gifted Children, and tell the kids there - wonderful children who despite their physical and mental disabilities now have a friendly environment to learn and grow into happy, productive adults - that what I do is meaningless."

Finally, Luthor turned back to Lois Lane, with a hurt, judgemental, yet quietly triumphant look in his eyes.

"I may not fly, I may not bounce bullets off my chest. But I've done all I can to help the world, and the thousands of lives I've played a part in saving didn't require a blood sacrifice of thousands of innocents in return. So condemn me for using a... small fraction of my wealth to go out in my yacht. But don't you ever presume to question my humanity."

Just as my confidence begins to grow, it's slowly shattered with every word that Luthor speaks. I underestimated him, throughout this entire proceeding. He is smarter than he lets on.

I hang my head as Lois looks at him, nearly speechless. She tries to speak, but I decide, for once, to speak for myself instead.

"No."

She looks back at me. As does everyone else. Though I look at her, I'm addressing everyone in the room. There is no point in arguing if Luthor is right.

"He's right. He does have the right to question me. He has valid concerns, as do the rest of you who share his opinion. I can't argue with them. Just... let it go, Lois."

A silence fills the room. But even among the looks of confusion, sadness, judgement, and anger... I can see Luthor smiling. He knows that he's won. And while I would love nothing more than to take that smile off his face, knowing fully well that he could've been behind very much criminal acts... I have no proof to justify my claims.

So... for now... Maybe even forever... Luthor has won. The debate is over.

Lois almost turns back to Luthor. I think she still wants to battle it out.

"Please."

She pauses, looking back at me with a new look. And that's when I realise it. I once said that to her as Clark Kent... in almost the same tone... but with the same conviction.

Have I just... told her?

I turn. Whether or not she now knows the truth about me, I do not know. But I know one thing for certain. Lex Luthor has defeated me. And not in a way I thought possible... But in a way that could possibly be more devastating than I could've ever imagined. He challenged my humanity. And worse... made me question it aswell.

I need to leave. If I'm going to turn myself into Zod... There are people that I need to say goodbye to. Ma and Pa, firstly and foremost. I don't know how I'm ever going to be able to express my gratitude for all that they have done for me... But I'm going to try.

I walk to the edge of the roof, before looking back at the people watching. The people of earth. The people I tried to be, and tried to save... But ultimately put in danger as a thanks. I don't want to continue to do that.

And with that, I'm off. Leaping into the sky, I fly away from LuthorCorp Towers, above Metropolis. My speed increases as the buildings below and around me become blurs. I leave the city, heading to Kansas.

This may be the last time that I am to be Superman. But Clark Kent still has yet to say his goodbyes.

I pull my mask back on and give him a long stare. "Human." putting my billy club away, I walk over to him. "No tricks, no games, I'm just your average joe without sight. I'm no demon. I do the lord's work."

He's not listening, he raises his sword up at me once more and takes a huge sweep. I barrel out of the way. "ARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGH!" My leg! The cuts pretty deep, blood's already seathing everywhere, I've got to get away somehow. Somehow...

That building he set on fire... it has to have been evacuated by now. Summoning all of my strength, I barrel off of the roof top, activating my club. It flies through the flames and latches onto something. This is gonna hurt. I retract my club, pulling me in through the flames. Lord, guide me through the fires of hell to defeat the real demon here.

He goes nothing. I stream into the flames, greeted by the hot flames. I can feel my skin burn. Its nothing too serious thank god, but the pain is incredible. I slam into the floor the otherside of the flames. Damn, my costume's set alight. I roll on the floor, desperately beating it off as it burns away my top.

Well... that's the easy part done... hopefully I've brought a few-- "UGK!" I let out a confused whimper as he steps on me. No way. No way in heaven. No way in hell did he get here this quickly. I can feel my already broken ribs begin to grind together... come on Matt, don't let this be it... ugh... Foggy... the office... Karen.

I grab his foot with all my strength. "Your begining to piss me off." Throwing him to the floor, I cry out as I throw myself back through the flames and hit the ground outside, back first. The fire's spread down the building now. It's weakened a good section of it.

"Everyone back, NOW!" I cry to the crowd around me as I launch my club round a pillar on the building. Come on Matt, pull I've got to do this... I start to strain myself as I pull with everything I have, crying out with pain. Bring it down. Got to stop him. Bring it down.

Pull, god damnit, PULL. I finally start to feel the building give way. Just a little bit more. I tumble over as it begins to collapse. Looking up, I catch the image of the fallen angel in the building. CRASH!

Silence... its over. It has to be over. I pull myself to my feet and give off a huge sigh of release. "Everyone alright?" I ask, wearily.A few people nod, thank god no one was hurt. "That's gr--" and then I loose it, I stumble over face first, out cold.

The ship landed on the grounds of Castle Doom. Hayden left the ship and Doombots entered it retrieving the item. The carried it deep into the walls of the castle. Hayden entered the the massive throne room and walked toward the back of it where Doom sat.

"Lord Doom I have retrieved the item what will you have me do next?"

"Спасибо, друг." the Russian man muttered while Victor applied some antibiotics to one of his wounds. His eyes were only half open, and Victor wondered if he was fully concious.

"Никакая проблема. Я люблю помогать другим." Victor replied.

"You speak russian?!" the man said startled. He jumped up and nearly knocked Victor over.

"Yeah, I'm studying it on the side." he said gathering the supplies the man knocked out of his hands. The man got down on one knee and helped Victor gather the dropped supplies.

"It's not everyday I meet some one who speaks my native tongue. Especially a hispanic child."

"I know how you feel. Back in L.A. it felt like everyone I knew speak Spanish, now I come here and no one knows what I'm saying."

The sound of Logan and the man with visor arguing, caught their attention. They stared at the two for awhile and then resumed cleaning up their mess. When they were done, the tall man walked over to a damaged wall and transformed into his metal form. Victor walked over and observed him in action.

"Ничего себе. Это выглядит очень тяжелым. Вы нуждаетесь в любой помощи?" Victor asked, trying his best to blatantly show off his Russian speaking skills.

"It is very heavy, but I do not need your help, Victor. Why don't you instead tend to the Professor?"

"Okay. It was nice meeting you-"

"Piotr."

"Piotr. It was nice meeting you."

"Same here. Спасибо за лечение, товарища."

Victor smiled and returned to where the Professor was. He was sitting in his wheelchair quietly. He was most likely contemplating the attack on the school. Instead of bothering him now, Victor made his way to the living room and flipped on the TV.

He reclined in the comfy sofa and sighed with relief. He really didn't think things would turn out bad, but that was still a bit scary. He needed more experience. He didn't realize an oppurtunity would come so soon.

The semi roared across the road as Magneto and the Brotherhood escaped from Metropolis. They didn't get for when Magneto noticed the body in the road. The body had a red costume and giant cuts on it.

"Toad stop the truck" Toad slammed on the brakes and the truck came to a stop. Magneto walked over to the body an noticed that the cuts were healing themselves. Could this man be a mutant?

"Blob get him to the back of the truck and Mastermind go up front and make sure no one sees us" Blob carried him inside and the others followed which included Magneto, Ouicksliver, and Scarlet Witch. The Blob layed him down and Scarlet Witch took off his mask to reveal the scarred face.

"Fa..." Quicksliver gave her a sharp look "Magneto look at his face"

"Yes I can see that Wanda. A mutant who may had been drove out of town judging by the scars and he even gathered weapons to defended himself" the body started to stir

"Tell me brother what is your name?"

"Humans of the United States, I am Magneto and I am a mutant. My kind has been oppressed by your kind for far too long. It is time for the oppression to end; for the age of humans to end and the age of mutants to begin. For years your scientists have talked about the theory of evolution but we are evolution. If my demands are not made the consequences will be on a level never seen before."

"What you just watched was a speech made by the mutant terrorist Magneto. Not too long ago he was seen walking these very streets with his terrorist cell, known as "The Brotherhood of Mutants". Officials have advised the public to inform the police or FBI if they encounter him. This is a channel five exclusive. Stay tuned."

Victor's jaw almost hit the floor. Only moments ago the X-men were fighting the Juggernaut, and now Professor X's main nemesis was preparing for war. Victor rubbed his temples and wondered if he was really ready for what he was about to do. He got up and left the living room. In the foyer he found that everyone was still lost in their own world.

"Hey guys! Magneto and the Brotherhood are on the loose!"

I turn away from Logan and look at the new kid.

"Who the hell is the Brotherhood?"

Victor turned towards the man with the visor. He seemed alot more responsible than the feral man Logan. Victor jogged the short distance from the entrance of the living room over to him.

"Their like Magneto's posse and stuff! According to the news reports, their composed of criminal mutants. I think they're up to no good! Shouldn't you guys do something ?"

"Easy there kid. This guy is no more an X-Man than you are. I'll admit, he's got talent, but he's just a kid like you. How old are you anyway, sixteen....fifteen, what?.....Oh never mind. Magneto is the same big bad mutant who launched that nuclear warhead into the heart of New York....the one we couldn't stop....but Iron Man did......I still gota go thank him for that.......But you kids just need to stay here with the other students, me an Beast will check on Leincher."

I turn around and see Sabretooth still laying outside wraped in metal.

"Hey Chuck, can you help me move this furball back to the infirmary...don't want him wakin up ya know."

<Cyclops>

"Actually Logan I'll be twenty in a month."

Im starting to dislike Logan, at first I thought he was cool but know im starting to see a smug arrogance to him. And im not liking how he keeps staring at Jean. I turn back to the new kid as Logan walks out of the mansion toward the unconsious Sabretooth.

"Don't listen to him, I think you more than anyone deserves to be an X-man. Im sorry I havent introduced myself."

I extend my hand.

"Im Scott Summers."

"Victor Mancha. I'd love to join the X-men. We should probably do something about the Brotherhood." Victor said shaking Scott's hand.

The voice in Victor's head only confrmed what a big accomplishment this was. Joining the X-men just felt right.

There was silence and they just stared at Deadpool. The silence was broken when Magneto spoke again.

"Good very good. I'm going to speak bluntly with you. Judging by your attire and weapons that you have I have a certain job that requires you talents, infiltration. You see I have my share of enemies the most dangerous one is named Charles Xaiver. Since you have heard of me I'm guessing you have heard of Xaiver and his X-Men. I need you,my friend, to join the ranks of these X-Men, find out what's going on in there, and in the end destroy them"

I make my way through the rubble and join Logan as he makes his way over to a tied up Sabretooth.

"So, this stuff happen to you guys a whole lot? Cause ah gotta tell ya, I aint into cleaning up tha whole tahm"

"We can't really do anything, like Logan said we arnt exactly X-men. But to tell ya the truth, the X-men stood in Magneto's way once before and im sure they will again."

I look around at the wrecked mansion and than back at Jean, John, and Victor who were all just standing around.

"Come on guys lets help clean some of this mess up."

"The X-men? That like a late night gay porn show or something?"

(IC: General Zod)

The pursuit in the skies above Eastern Europe continued, as dozens of state-of-the-art American warplanes desperately tried to keep up with the Rogue Son of Krypton. General Zod had been careful to make sure they did not lose him entirely, but kept just enough distance to stay out of the range of their weapons; he wanted to make sure the Americans were still fully loaded for battle when they crossed into Latveria.

Focusing his enhanced hearing on a live satellite broadcast, Zod heard the outcome of the earthman Luthor and Kal-El. He could not help but smile as the so-called "Superman" wriggled in Luthor's grasp, ultimately agreeing to surrender himself.

"So, the Son of Jor-El has accepted his fate," the General said. "He wimpers about the commoners just like his father. Now, he places himself at my mercy...which is something I have in very short supply..."

Zod picked up speed, to put more distance between himself and the American fighters. His eyes began to gleam, and a contended smirk crawled across his face as he saw in the distance the towers of Castle Doom.

Ah, everything is going so well....
