BEST STORYLINE - WALLY WEST: THE FLASH
It's a shame SenseiofCheese hasn't been the most active of posters in this RPG lately. Earlier on in the season, I found his ongoing adventures as The Flash to be one of the highlights of the season. This was largely a self-contained story - aside from some welcome involvement from Blacklight's Kyle Rayner - that saw Wally go on a series of self-contained missions, with Sensei (re)introducing some of The Flash's iconic Rogues. It was just good, simple fun, and a joy to read.
BEST HERO - SUPERMAN (Blacklight)
What's this!? A set of 1U awards where I'm NOT nominating wiegeabo's Batman for Best Hero? As great as wiegeabo continues to be, I felt that this time round, rather than rewarding consistent excellence, I'd give the nod to a player who continues to evolve and improve as a writer. Blacklight is the backbone of the developing Justice League storyline. Heck, it seems like he's playing half the roster! But best of all is his portrayal of Superman. Heroes don't get more iconic than that, and seeing that BL is following Master Bruce, the RPing shoes to fill don't get much bigger. But Blacklight has risen to the challenge, giving us a Superman who's great in his own right.
BEST VILLAIN - THE JOKER (Matt Murdock)
Have we even had any other villains lately? It's true that the villain roster has been limited this season, and even the villains we have were largely AWOL - Matt Murdock's Joker included. But when he was around, MM offered a portrayal of The Joker that stood out from the various other RPG Jokers, that felt truly individual. Manic insanity was exchanged for quiet menace, to chillingly strong effect. Good work!
BEST DEVELOPED CHARACTER - COMMISSIONER GORDON (Byrd Man)
I'm always a sucker for a good Gordon, and Byrd's has been great. The emotional turmoil he is going through feels utterly convincing, Byrd really capturing the sense that Gordon is a normal man in a world of supermen. I have high hopes for the MCU arc set up with Gordon for next season.
(Best Fight and Best Post are the same as they were last time round)
BEST FIGHT - DAREDEVIL VS JOKER (Peter Parker and Karem-Knight)
I think it was fairly obvious that I'd pick this fight for this award, seeing how often I have sung its praises in OOC. This perfectly encapsulated the sheer excitement and intrigue that a Marvel/DC crossover game like this offers, with these two characters from different universes just meeting and clicking and playing off each other so well. The build-up was great, with The Joker calling out Daredevil, and Daredevil showing concern at this intruding scum from Gotham spilling blood on his turf. And the fight itself was just BRUTAL! No punches pulled here, just all-out, bone-crunching violence. Stellar work, by both Peter Parker and Karem-Knight.
BEST POST - SUPERMAN SAVES LEX LUTHOR'S LIFE (Master Bruce)
Master Bruce is like the Daniel Day-Lewis of RPers. He doesn't appear too often, but when he does... boy, is it worth the wait! Here was a post so epic....he had to divide it into two posts! The whole thing was like a self-contained issue of a Superman comic. If I had bought this story in graphic form in a comic store, I'd feel like my money was well-spent. The characterisations of Superman and Lex Luthor alike were note-perfect, and the action and sheer spectacle was brilliantly realised. Everyone should do themselves a favor and read this post - both parts! - if they haven't already. And any time someone starts alluding to how they should just steal Superman from Master Bruce, it should be posted, and followed by "You think you can top this?" (NOTE: Master Bruce then proceeded to quit shortly after me writing this

MVP - BYRD MAN
As Captain America, he played a part in the season's climactic Justice League/X-Men arc. And as both Jim Gordon and Daredevil, he added whole new dimensions of drama to my Harvey Dent storyline. I can say now that my posts wouldn't have been anywhere near as effective without the way they were complimented in the reactions of Gordon and Daredevil. Byrd has been all over 1U this season. At points it feels like he was the ONLY guy keeping things moving. Byrd Man was undoubtedly an MVP this season, and so is well-deserving of this award.
